I think the topic of overweight people and the rights and wrongs isn’t really a topic for here. The topic of people being too heavy for their horses is though. With people like RTG and BOAC, their weight isn’t fundamentally what’s wrong, it’s their decision to ride horses they’re too heavy for. Weight in its raw form like this is a touchy subject because there are a lot of things to take into consideration. But I don’t think it’s the right conversation to be having here.

People too heavy for the horse they’re riding is.

I think if she said she was going to work on herself and just do groundwork and in hand stuff she would gain so much respect. Being overweight is difficult, but you can change it, you're in control of your body and the horse should not be made carry an overweight rider. It's just that simple. It's not discrimination but welfare. It's so entitled to look for concessions for something you can change for your horse. Crying fatshaming is such a cop out, you can be any weight you want it's not societies duty to pretend like it's ok to be unhealthy especially when it harms a living creature.
I am also sick of people saying 'I cannot lose weight'
'I find it really hard to diet'
'I have tried and nothing happened'
'I have the right to ride a horse'
'Muscle weighs heavier than fat'

it is not rocket science. Eat healthier, move more and do it for the welfare of the animal you sit on.
Muscle DOES NOT weigh heavier than fat. 1 stone of fat is as heavy as 1 stone of muscle.
Muscle has a different density so if you weigh 9 stones and have little percentage of body fat you will look different to someone who weighs 9 stone and has little muscle definition.
I'm fed up with people saying it is 'Fat Shaming'
IT IS NOT. It is the welfare of the animal you are sat upon. at the same time I wouldn't condone someone hitting an animal because it made their mental health better. It's just as bad.

You can tell Ray knows what she’s doing and is comfortable in front of the camera. It’s well put together and obviously it helps if you’ve got a fancy bit of kit to make the quality of video good too.

Although I disagree with her remark “anyone of any size has the right to ride a horse”. Sorry to be blunt but it’s simply not true. If you’re obese then you don’t have the “right” to ride a horse. That horse does not owe you a ride on its back. It’s not a question of inclusivity it’s a question of welfare.

I disagree, however I understand your view.

Nobody has said they cook a 3 course meal with organic foods. What I’m saying is simple, staple foods are much better for your body, often cheaper and more fulfilling. Making the transition to cooking your own food is part of a healthy transformation.

Everyone that chooses ‘to influence’ has a responsibility to their followers. Nobody will ever convince me that ready meals are healthy, if they saw how they were processed - they’d realise what I’m saying.
Not everyone wants to cook there own food though I hate cooking & can’t see the point of it. If people want to see a whole food Instagrammer there are losds of them out there to follow. What Jess is doing is showing her personal journey & how she’s doing it. She’s using ready food & in my opinion it makes it much more reachable for other people. Lots of people don’t want to spend there free time chopping veg & making sauces when they can be bought.

Also lets just be grateful shes eating proper food & not ramming Y food shakes down our throats.

Quick round up.

Swipe up and kick on has been filmed, lots of Tina shrieking, Emily’s young horse finally gets a break, Meg gets unnecessarily fat shamed and rightly defended, Lucy is just Lucy.

ASA is in full swing, let’s see who gets picked (before their audition video!)

RTG still heavily discussed - excuse the pun!

Riding with Charlotte, Vossi has got a new saddle, still looks most unhappy about it too!

The 10% codes are still going strong, the ads for completely season irrelevant items are coming thick and fast and all the beggy wannabe’s are hitting hard on the equilight!

Pass me the Y food, I’m done #not a diet drink!

A lot of people clearly don't understand that her lifestyle change is clearly to do with her relationship with food.... She's been very vocal in that she would binge eat almost daily and yes, she is losing weight because she is eating in a calorie deficit but the key thing is that her relationship with food has changed. THAT is the lifestyle change. It's not that she is feeling the need to eat completely clean and then deal with horrendous cravings because of limitations and then end up back in her binge eating sprial, she is eating a balanced diet that is sustainable TO HER. What works for HER. So what if she buys some frozen food or if she buys ready meals. You'd be hard pushed to find people who don't these days. Life is busy and not everyone enjoys/has time to cook. If she was posting that she was eating a super clean diet with no dairy or sugar or whatever... You would all be moaning then too. She looks great whilst not massively restricting herself and her relationship with food has changed. Get over it. If you don't like it, simply don't follow 🤷🏻‍♀️

Rant about LOTB “what I eat stories” - virtually everything she held up is either processed or out of a plastic packet. The most nutritious food for your body is fresh, wholesome and even better locally produced food. British meats, potatoes and vegetables. There are loads of great PTs out there that post tasty recipes including basic, staple foods. Not ready meals - Jesus
Defending Jess this is the first stage of a life style change it’s about making changes that will last. The reason so many people fail is they try to do too much all at once. Shes using processed & ready meals to make it easier for her to stick to her plan & its obviously working. Not everyone like to cook & prepare meals from scratch, she probably also struggles with time. I don’t get why it’s such an issue she’s using ready meals, her choice & id rather see someone be realistic instead of
‘I’ve worked 80 hours this week ridden every day, worked out & cooked this 3 course meal from fresh organic foods I bought from the farmers market’

What people have to realise is that everyone has the right to enjoy horses but not the right to ride them.

Each to their own but I think it’s lazy. He’s not finished a xc track he’s finished a show jumping lesson. Ive worked for many a showjumper who’ve trotted their horses down with some bending and flexing or some long and low, it’s pretty standard. And agree we don’t see what’s not on camera but I’m just commenting after watching the same thing in a couple of vlogs.
If anything it would be considered more lazy to be sat on the horse while it walks around rather than getting your weight off of it and walking it around in hand where it can cool down more efficiently having not got the extra weight of a rider.
To me you're just being nitpicky because you can't like her. She may not be everyone's cup of tea but nobody can deny she works hard with Banksy and treats him incredibly well. She does want to do what's best for him.

I'd really like to see Joanna and Blondie on ASA. I bet they'd get lots of helpful tuition on how to ride round safely rather than at breakneck speed.

Amazing how many new members appearing today 🙄
[/QUOTE]
Maybe they will get the full story instead of the snippets she shares that are skewed in her favour.

She quoted me last night and removed the part about my shitty day working a worthwhile job in the NHS because her narrative (IMO) is that all Tattlers are trolls who spend all day writing nasty things about people in the public eye and not working. This thread is full of intelligent, articulate and well informed people.

I am so fed up with Ray acting like people are bullying her. It isn't bullying, it's a welfare concern for the animal. It is blatant abuse, simple as that. I don't care if she wants to be plus size and confident in it, but I do care when an animal is brought into it who doesn't have a choice. There is absolutely no way that Ray is under the Talland weight restriction of 13st7. That's not bullying, that's fact. Does she really think Pammy is going to allow her on her horses, in fear of Ray calling her out on fat shaming? I don't think so. Why is the weight restriction there? For animal welfare. I'm genuinely not sure what is worse, Ray or her thick as shit followers. What does Ray bring to All Stars Academy? Inclusion, diversity, fun and bubbly personality, sure. But is it going to be much fun to watch her ride Peps and do none of the riding challenges on Pammy's horses? No, it wouldn't make good viewing at all. Horse and Country would get a massive thumbs down from me if they allowed her on the show. They've said in FAQs that horse welfare is of upmost priority and if a horse shows even a hint of being lame they won't be allowed to ride. Surely they could see from Instagram or YouTube that Pepper is not sound and thus wouldn't bother bringing her there to send her home?

Ray is heavily overweight, if not obese. Peps is also heavily overweight, if not obese. Peps is lame and Ray's riding is horrific. There are plenty of other riders who have applied who seem to have sound horses, better riding and still a diverse enough bunch in age, gender and ability that they absolutely don't need to bring Ray on to tick any of those boxes.

Lmao sooooooo ur taking a break for family emergency but you want people to vote so u can win shit ? Wise up. Take ur break and be quiet about it.
Ugh I actually like Jess and have had her back on here a lot but this was just shitty. My comment is not personal to her it would be the same for anyone. I obviously hope everything is OK with her and family.

However

Firstly I’m sorry but you get given free stuff all the time. Expensive boxes from Country and Stable I can only dream of affording. F&F items, Joules dresses to go to events. The sort of stuff I have to save up for ages to buy for special occasions, and even then I struggle to justify them. Influencers shouldn’t be allowed to win these competitions just because they have tonnes of followers who trundle off to give them an extra like.

Secondly and even more importantly if you’re having a family emergency why are you prioritising promoting a photo for likes? Are you in a hospital or something posting this shit? This is everything that’s wrong with the influencer world. Get off Instagram, be with your family and stop leaching for free crap on the internet. It’s gross.

Is anyone keeping up with what is happening with Frankie (frankiesponies)?
The mother is giving me real child endagerment vibes as she seems to be putting making videos and inspiration porn before her daughter's safety on multiple occasions now. First it's letting the children all gallop on the moors when it has been dry for so long, coupled with fresh rain making the top layer like an ice rink. The pony went down HARD onto frankie at a flat gallop. That was posted for everyone to see.
Next she stands back as wild ponies accost her injured child as she sits on the floor with a dislocated shoulder. She literally moves back out of the way in order to film rather than making sure the ponies keep their distance.
And now after going to the hospital and saying that the young girl has a nasty injury to her shoulder she's let her get back on the pony 2 days later without giving it any chance to heal and is posting how inspirational the child is. It's not inspirational, it's stupid and it's dangerous and the child isn't old enough to make those kinds of decisions for herself. As her mum that's YOUR job.
If that shoulder doesn't heal right she will be in for a world of pain as she's older and as her mother won't let us forget she's disabled already and has poor healing because of that. It's exploitative at best, neglectful at worst.

To be fair to Emily she’s an amateur with one horse, and Meg is basically a pro with multiple horses so she can easily stick horses on the back burner. Also there’s young event horse classes that are doing a ton more than Addie at the same age. I watched the Jonty lesson vlog and Emily was definitely taking it slow. She’s also talked about building Addie up and then taking a break. And she has pros telling her that she can ask for a bit more.

I appreciate all the work Tina puts into her content but the over the top “I love my horse” content is…a lot. And on the flip side to Emily, Tina acts like Banksy is an old man when he’s still in his prime.

I really like Charlotte and her reels, I do find them funny and like seeing every aspect of what people get up to in the day and it’s nice short form content. I feel as though Vossi’s brains are being blown by the healthy tummy she’s giving him though and just not working for her.
I thought that. My thought was they might start trying after the wedding as it sounded like it wasn’t an immediate plan but definitely on the cards. And she is very correct about you can’t compare one horse to another Ari and Addi may be a similar age but Addi does look a much stronger horse and always has done
I think no one has the right to comment on what Emily does with her horse. Out of anyone you follow online, I guarantee she has more care and consideration for what the horse can and can’t do as she knows her best. Agree with this comment, totally different mare compared to Ari so it’s not comparable. Don’t you think Emily has consulted with her many pro instructors and trainers and sought advice. I don’t agree with the pony club kicking and it’s nice to see Addie get a break but also she’s showing the real side to riding a youngster and don’t tell me some of you didn’t have a bad moment in the saddle or ignore some signs for your own horses. I’ll admit I’ve had a tantrum or two. I didn’t 100% believe my horse had ulcers for a while which I regret I didn’t act on sooner. I don’t know any of you but look at your own situation, I’m sure there’s lots we could complain about each of you if you were in the public eye. You look at Vossi with some niggly uncomfort somewhere and obese Pepper, and you think they’re only a handful of the few influencers we know are ignoring signs. Everyone is on their own journey and has their way of handling it all and this is the way Emily is. Cool down on her. The mare isn’t falling a part and compared to the incredible job she did with Lola when she didn’t have the help of Cameron, Simon, Fred and her IG community, I think she’s going to do an incredible one with Addie and we’re just along for the ride. Stay in your own lanes and worry about the horses who actually need help

RTG is one of the most irritating human beings I’ve ever seen on social media. I’m baffled that so many people find her amusing.
The only people that interact with her are the ones that spam each others horse accounts to get their account growing. Bunch of freaks that don’t see a bigger issue

Ray just said she think she should audition for ASA because she reckons people will appreciate her size doing it. As if she’s proud. I am not fatphobe, but I do care for horse welfare. No issue with plus size people whatsoever. But when you don’t take a step back and analyse the added weight you’re carrying on a horse, you have a serious problem. I would actually like her to get on the show just to do the bleep test and have Pammy give her a good dose of reality. She wouldn’t be let ride the Talland horses as there’s a test you have to do to ride the schoolmasters isn’t there?

Can one of her friends open her eyes and give her a wobble. Charlotte Dujardin wrote in her book that Carl told her she needed to lose weight (not a pick on her to begin with) and get fitter. If you’re not doing it for yourself, do it for your horse. Ray wake up and stop getting giddy about applying for ASA because I don’t think you’ll like what Pammy has to say
