All of this is spot on.That’s my point, the whole influencer trend is not a joke, it’s out there, it’s real, it’s happening and people follow and are “influenced” whether we or they like it or not.
From the likes of The Kardashians to Princess Charlotte (the shawl she wore at a few hours old when she was presented to the world on the steps of the Lindo Wing was selling fast as soon as the seller was known) to Zoella, The Saccone Jolys to the end of aisle promotional display in your local Tesco, influencers/influences are everywhere and it is a part of our culture now. You can’t get away from it, of course it is down to ourselves to decide how much we allow to be influenced by, but at some point in our lives we have all been influenced by an influencer.
She is an influencer though, like I said, it’s her job, people do take advise from her.
She's basically a walking advert and there are a lot of people who do follow her for both financial and, dare I say it, life advice. She's billed as a personal finance guru and is targeting quite vulnerable people. Remember all those times she's sat in bed, having a bad mental health day, but posted on Insta that she's thankful she's built up a passive income so that she can work around her "nope" days? What does that say to someone with mental health issues? I think it's despicable.
The person who is watching her, relating to her, is probably a woman with their own weight issues, someone who may have debts and be in crisis and what she's doing is selling her blogging course, her affiliate links and her unhealthy lifestyle to those who follow her.
