I agree she doesn’t look very healthy, but you can have disordered eating and have a real problem with food and comments like this (undoubtedly she will read them) will only make her feel more crap and insecure and possibly gorge or binge. Has nobody here ever been in a complete rut with their weight? If you haven’t, well, you’re lucky!
So what, she moans about her weight, id say 95% of the worlds female population moan about their weight, some find the motivation to make changes and better choices, and others don’t, but that’s inevitably their problem and issue to deal with and it shouldn’t be judged like this. I have personal experience of people’s judgement of weight taking a very close loved one from me. A bit of kindness goes a long way...

She’s a vile person.
She would be better off if she did something with her self. Made healthy habits. She may work for herself but set hours 9-5 for a routine. Make a lunch the night before. It’s not her weight that bothers people she cries about her diabetes but then shoves liquid sugar down her throat. She moans constantly she can’t be bothered that she’s struggling well then change your diet. She is slowly killing herself. She’s also the worst person on Instagram to pick on people. I don’t see how anyone can defend her she’s an utter witch if I’m honest.

I see your point about disordered eating, we don’t know either way if she is or isn’t a sufferer and to be honest I know nothing about that to comment any further.

What I find difficult to watch is someone who is diabetic and a money saving blogger effectively telling her followers that instead of paying £1.80 for a 330ml can of drink it’s more cost effective (and healthy, it was justified because they were Fanta zero) to pay £3.25 and consume 3 large marginally more healthy than a full sugar can of Fanta, drinks because you get free refills. This is an influencer, her job is as an influencer, people follow her lead.

She is influencing them into a diabetic coma 😞

Sorry to jump back to a previous subject (only child or not) but I was looking at an old video that popped up on my suggested videos, and in it she says her dad and sisters are coming over for dinner.....

This influencer business is a joke. As my late mother would always say, if she jumped in front of a bus would you? Why are we all making out we live in a world where nobody can think for themselves!? It’s laughable.

I’m defending anyone who is overweight and posts what they eat. It’s entirely up to her how she eats. I watched a video once online of a man in McDonald’s, he was severely obese, he was in the que to buy food. Somebody filmed two girls in the que who out of no where started attacking this poor guy, telling him he should get out as he was so large and disgusting. It was heart breaking just to see his face. He wasn’t hurting anyone, probably only himself to be fair, but his choices are his own right? I honestly can’t understand how what somebody else is eating and looking like can affect somebody else so much.

That’s my point, the whole influencer trend is not a joke, it’s out there, it’s real, it’s happening and people follow and are “influenced” whether we or they like it or not.

From the likes of The Kardashians to Princess Charlotte (the shawl she wore at a few hours old when she was presented to the world on the steps of the Lindo Wing was selling fast as soon as the seller was known) to Zoella, The Saccone Jolys to the end of aisle promotional display in your local Tesco, influencers/influences are everywhere and it is a part of our culture now. You can’t get away from it, of course it is down to ourselves to decide how much we allow to be influenced by, but at some point in our lives we have all been influenced by an influencer.

She is an influencer though, like I said, it’s her job, people do take advise from her.

All of this is spot on.

She's basically a walking advert and there are a lot of people who do follow her for both financial and, dare I say it, life advice. She's billed as a personal finance guru and is targeting quite vulnerable people. Remember all those times she's sat in bed, having a bad mental health day, but posted on Insta that she's thankful she's built up a passive income so that she can work around her "nope" days? What does that say to someone with mental health issues? I think it's despicable.

The person who is watching her, relating to her, is probably a woman with their own weight issues, someone who may have debts and be in crisis and what she's doing is selling her blogging course, her affiliate links and her unhealthy lifestyle to those who follow her.

I think her dad had kids with a diffenet woman emma doesn't like them

I agree bashing her appearance isn’t good. I said it before when people were on about her teeth, she obviously has issues and goes to counselling or something.

There’s plenty of other things to critique without stooping to personal digs

That’s just the world we live in. If we weren’t influenced by the world around us the world wouldn’t move forward. But the point is, we all have a choice. Would you say a person was vulnerable because everyone started getting television sets in their homes? No. This isn’t an over night thing, we’ve lived in a sheep society for years and years. I think rather than seeing the people who buy things because they becomes popular as ‘vulnerable’ isn’t right at all. It’s just a copycat world with most people always wanting more, or always having the best. Chances are, if Susan next door starts painting her fence, Sheila 2 doors down will then be out there the following weekend painting hers 😂 perhaps it’s just something us humans do naturally, unless we choose to live a totally different life, like that of a minimalist. My point about Emma is that she may be overweight, and she may be eating the wrong things and sharing it with the world, but a fitness freak sharing their body and their healthy meals would come under the same fire by the majority of people here because they’d be seen as forcing their healthy ways on to people or trying to advertise that the only way to be healthy is to be slim. You can’t win lol. People should be able to eat, look and do whatever they like and be able to share it without being called vile, large and disgusting. I’d love to see what some of you keyboard warriors look like behind the screen!

I don’t believe I did call her large, overweight or vile. I simple pointed out that what she was promoting in some (not all) of her stories was that it was a better choice to buy a £3.25 huge refillable five guys drink (and have 3 drinks) than one £1.80 330ml can of Fanta. Her choice of course but she was promoting it as a better choice both money and health wise. To me that is wrong.

Emma did a health campaign with a leading pharmacy on diabetes, she may well have gained some diabetic followers, she may also along with many other influencers have followers who have additional or special educational needs or even mental health problems and therefore are vulnerable to these influencers and what they promote.

I don’t agree with the bullying of people based on their body shape (I was bullied at school over my weight, it’s not nice) however in the stories I saw Emma was advocating unhealthy lifestyle choices based on what in her opinion is a better option financial as well as for her health. We live in a country where obesity is an issue and for those vulnerable followers this is where a see an issue in promoting such unhealthy ways as a better choice.

I do understand your point and of course it’s valid, I just think Emma could be more careful about what she is promoting to her followers.

To be fair I haven’t seen this story regarding the Fanta but was it the sugar free or zero calorie Fanta?
I appreciate aspartame isn’t great, but when it comes to refills myself and my family prefer them if they are available as usually we have a drink whilst waiting for a meal, another whilst eating and another after the meal. We don’t have any of the full large stuff, only the sugar free or zero, and only drink fizzy drinks if we go out for a meal, but I don’t see how this is promoting unhealthy behaviours? It does save money and is especially helpful to families that can’t afford a constant stream of drinks when eating out. If it’s sugar free that’s ok for diabetics. I’m pretty sure Diabetics will be well aware that they shouldn’t be consuming large amounts of full large sugary fizzy drinks! It’s common sense.

I never said someone was vulnerable for having a TV set or buying things.

A vulnerable person is someone who, through mental illness or their current situation, is more likely to be taken advantage of by these sorts of scams.

I work with vulnerable adults in a health care capacity and I use the term in the same way the NHS or the social services would, to describe someone who may be highly influenced by others.
