What I don't appreciate about this thread, however, is the fixation on her boyfriend. Their relationship is problematic, but don't go to the extent to belittle his looks, it's way too low. Be constructive in your criticism.

I think the focus on his looks is mainly because he's a decade older than her (which for most couples by the time you're thirty shouldn't really matter but here it feels sleazy because Emma comes across as immature) and he's a white guy with really badly maintained dreadlocs. If he was black/mixed race with maintained dreadlocs I doubt people would comment on his appearance in the same way.

Last I heard (unless I’m mixing up cherry with someone else) Emma blasted Cherry for not immediately making a statement about JK Rowling’s transphobic essay and instead taking a day to gather her thoughts in a comprehensive and non-offending statement, which imo really says a lot about Emma’s personality and mindset ie. going off the seat of her pants and making rash mistakes and only thinking through her delusions in hindsight, rather than taking the time to consider her choices and make a thoughtful decision/statement on something. Cherry’s statement on JK and Harry Potter as a whole ended up being really kind and thoughtful but her replies were all clogged up by Emma’s fans bashing her for “taking too long”. Like, it’s not like she took a week to say anything, she just needed time to gather her thoughts yet here Emma is ready to get on her high horse despite never saying anything about trans issues before this, let alone advocating for trans rights. I hate how the internet has made everything so quick paced and encouraged everyone to need to put out opinions and statements asap rather than taking time to even think through their feelings on a particular topic or subject. And I hate how Emma weaponized such a serious and harmful situation, which is still having negative impacts on the trans community, just so she could have an excuse to call someone out and boost her own ego in the process, as well as further personal drama that didn’t need to be brought to the internet (even Cherry, who ended up making a separate statement just about Emma, from what I remember was really confused why Emma all of a sudden started attacking her and only her about this, especially since they were allegedly on civil terms beforehand). That’s not an ally to me.

Emma only cares about LGBT+ when she’s using it to try promote herself (pretending she’s bi) or pretending to care about trans issues (only cares when she’s using them to drag others down).

Funny how she was sucking up to Luke saying his edits where how she got successful and now he’s just “a failed kickstarter”

Just a failed Kickstarter that is showing at Cannes. Yep, total bust just because it took him 5 years doesn’t mean it failed. If anything it highlights how professional and passionate he is about the project to see it through that long and not give up on it. Something I don’t think she would ever understand.

Luke seems like a really nice guy, engaged to a nice woman and living a good life. While doing an online degree and bettering himself. Emma is the one who comes out worse from that relationship, Luke is doing just fine.

(Do I like Luke’s videos? Not all of them but he does seem like a decent bloke I was a youth worker a lifetime ago now and one of my then teens saw Luke, Evan, dodie, Sammy and Emma at a convention and Luke was the only one who treated her like an equal and not just a strange fan. I loved him after that.)

Emma, no matter how much you make your relationship public it’s not gonna stop him from cheating. He’ll just tell his hookups that you guys are in an open relationship or you’re a stalker (helps his case that you don’t have many pics together on your socials tbh) or something like that. If you don’t want your partner to cheat, don’t date a cheater, simple as that. (Though everyone’s been trying to get that in your head for years now and look how successful that’s been…)

The mad thing about the whole Davey situation is that everyone fucks up, love is complicated. If Emma just admitted that she fell in love with a man who was married and acted selfishly if she expressed a molecule of regret about the way she went about everything I'd have so much more respect for her. If she just owned her fuck ups and said "we had an affair, the way we went about it was wrong but I was in love it was exciting and I wasn't thinking about the people we would hurt." But she can't she has to keep up with this lie that they were already separated because she wants to pretend to be perfect when she clearly isn't because nobody is.

Just read her thread - Emma, nobody's saying you can't question your sexuality. As a bisexual person I spent so long questioning myself, that's just how it is. Honestly, imagine being the friend who this song is about. How scary it would be if you cut someone out and they write a whole song about it, and passive aggressively tweet about it over and over. I would feel unnerved.

Also it seems so delusional? When she sings "bet you thought I'd bite at you, but I cherish my energy, I know my worth" blabla- it's like, you are though? You are biting at them in a whole song?? It's really strange to see her be so resentful for being cut out and act as if that's some horrible injustice, while also acting like she's totally cool and happy about it. Like how she keeps repeating "you should have let me know", implying they weren't allowed to just walk away, while also saying over and over that she's so happy that they did because now she's "free". Which is it.

Most of the time it just honestly feels like she only started pursuing music because she wants to be famous and it was the “easiest” option, not because she has a passion for it. She half-asses most of not all of her songs, she acts like it’s a chore, she has no interest in improving her songwriting or singing or stepping out of her comfort zone in any way (even now when she’s trying to be a “rocker” she’s still pumping out Taylor swift knockoff pop songs), she’s mad and passive aggressive when she doesn’t get the numbers she wants (so, the majority of the time), and she only seems genuinely happy when she reaches a view count/streaming goal or when she charts in any way. All her songs sound like she sees them as low priority to her actual goal: fame. The problem is, her writing is self-important and vapid as shit, she has no stage presence, and she goes off whenever she gets the least bit of criticism. She’s not cut out for fame in the slightest but still thinks her time is coming because of the few remaining fans who suck her ass. If she put in even a bit of effort into improving her craft, or hell, just put in a bit more effort, really, she could do so much more and create work to actually be proud of, but for right now this all screams vanity project and money sink.

Backwards priorities if you ask me, but it’s Emma after all, I’m not new here
