Poor Trigg. He deserved better parents.
He seemed such a delightful little boy, Christmas is going to awful for them. I can’t imagine what her Christmas content will be like, no family at all as she’s not featuring Teddy or Brady now and obviously no Trigg. It’ll just be more of the same I suppose, food and decoration shopping, coffees and some cleaning.

Same. Bad things happen to good people and not so good people on an equal scale. Bereavement/tragedy doesn't make people more worthy.

Being generous, I can see how it would feel frightening to not only lose your child, but as a consequence, lose your livelihood as well. That is one of the many weird and hideous things about influencer culture; you have to be constantly present and selling yourself.

I think if she sells her lifestyle to the internet for a living I can see how she would feel trapped and like she had to “show up” as this person because otherwise, what will she do? Start some new random job? I don’t know enough about her and her story to know if she even could do anything else, but I suppose she might feel afraid to lose her career which she may have worked (hard-ish?) to build.

that being said, I have NO idea why she isn’t being authentic, although perhaps it is just way too soon for her to confront it publicly, maybe even privately. It’s devastating and I can sympathise with her predicament, even if it’s not what I would do. But then I would never ever ever share any of my life on the internet for cash, the idea repulses me.

the whole thing is just so very very sad. Perhaps it would be completely different if she didn’t have another baby to take her mind off it.

yeah, I don’t know if it’s because I’m older or because I’m in the UK or a combo of both but I would absolutely do the ‘random job’ over what she’s doing. I think she’s got used to a certain way of living and she is going to keep doing it regardless. It’s unfathomable to us because we are repulsed by it.

It’s tragic, repulsive, sad, devastating yet morbidly fascinating. It’s absolutely Black Mirror played out in real life and real time. I wouldn’t be EK for all the tea in China but also I think, well, just sell your house and get a bungalow and maybe a nice quiet job in marketing or something. She doesn’t HAVE to do it and yet she is. At this point I think it’s an addiction.

I bet you also wouldn't leave your kid on their own near a pool either

I agree. It’s the “ I’ve missed you guys, I love you guys “ bs that I find the most repulsive. How can you care about total strangers you’ve never met behind a computer? Who you don’t know and they don’t know you? I have had customers I’ve know for years, I’m very fond of but I’ve never once said “ I love you “ ffs and I know and met them in real life. It’s so concerning. Stop with the act. It’s shameful. Go grieve in peace and have some dignity. Remember your little boy instead of begging for the appreciation of millions of nobodies.

She says in her new video that people have a warped perception of what her life looks like and mistakenly think they know her when they don’t know anything about her. But she is the one constantly saying she loves her followers and misses them, why?? Of course they’re going to believe her. I understand the comments must get to her and I do really believe she is going through an awful time, but her words and actions are so contradictory. After Trigg died, she blamed her followers for being obsessed with her life, driving to her house, looking for the police report etc. And now a couple of weeks later she is sharing her personal life on the Internet again, responding to comments asking her about her medical information (whether she is taking medication etc.) why would you respond to this if you are desperate for your privacy to be respected? She needs to treat this like an actual job, turn off her comments and stop treating her followers like her friends. But she can’t because she’s addicted to social media and people fawning over her “perfect” life

Can't have everything. I bet she got a lot of new followers too after it happened. She blurred the lines pimped the kids to her fans showed her house etc can't blame people for being curious

No amount of money would ever make me want to be an influencer.

At least in a regular job if something like this happened your work is mostly seperate to your home life. You might have paid sick leave you could take and you could go back when you felt up to it. When you did return your work might actually help as a distraction - excel sheets, powerpoint, running a hospital ward, dealing with customers...whatever your job entails.

But with influencing and sharing every detail of your life when something like this happens and then you try to set boundaries it comes across as disingenious. It is sad that it took something like the death of her son to consider her child's privacy. And it is very apparent she is only doing it now to protect herself not Teddy.

One thing that surprised me was how active she is in her comment section. She is replying to a LOT of comments, whether that be good or bad ones. She’s definitely reading all of them…

Yeah I’ve noticed she just gets positive comments about how good parents they are 🤨
Also regarding the most recent video, I don’t really know how she has the nerve to be quite honest. Yes people may only see 5% of her life but shes in control of that 5% of what people see!! It’s literally infuriating!! She posted her family and personal life for everyone to see online of course she was going to get the intrusive response, questions and media circus when Trigg died. She’s now continuing to post her life online so yes people again are entitled to an opinion on what she’s putting out there.

I lost my mum when I was on maternity leave. Very sudden, very much unexpected.
I was due back in a month, my workforce was small, and we were all quite close. I could not stand the idea of going back to work and being ‘the one who’s mum died’
Looking back now that feels silly, but at the time that’s how I felt.
Instead, a week after she died I attended a job interview else where, and started there instead of returning back to a place where everyone knew what had happened.
I was able to put on a mask and be friendly and focused on my new role, but I didn’t feel the need to be back to the old me, because no one knew the old me.
So I do know that it’s possible to put on an act whilst grieving, but damn - the loss I experienced and hers just aren’t comparable. I can’t imagine continuing with a job where everyone knew the ins and outs like that.
also, as has already been said, she needs to pick a lane.
Either her followers are her best friends, she loves them, she misses them blah blah, OR it’s her job, she shares snippets of her day, shows what’s she wants. Influencers really seem to struggle with which one it is when there’s controversy.

Yes I found it interesting in the latest post how she emphasises that content creation is literally her work/job and that followers are seeing less than 5% of her actual life, and it’s not reality. That doesn’t really line up with the ‘love you guys so much, miss you all, let’s go through my day together’ etc

Not just Emilie though- most influencers. It’s all so fake which should be obvious but so many followers don’t seem to get it.

Whilst I realise social media is her job her starting her pages up again so soon isn’t a good look. She was desperate to keep as much info as possible about Trig’s death private which seemed to be in order to protect her sm pages.
this is in essence what is wrong with social media and people making a living from tik tok you tube etc
