Saw this on the Alice Liveing thread... I bet I know who our anonymous lifestyle influencer is. She bloody loves having a whinge to the 'press' doesn't she! Funny isn't it. Em I think you're the saddo as your life consists of endless amounts of free shit, gifted events, even your washing tablets are gifted! You have no substance girl. You know NOTHING about me or my life. But I know loads about you because you choose to plaster it all over the internet!

For one lifestyle influencer in her twenties, who wishes to remain anonymous, gossip sites have proved devastating.

‘I found Guru Gossip about four years ago – and got into a bad way reading it,' she says. 'But someone hacked the website and showed user names and emails and I saw that they were mostly bloggers who hadn’t ended up successful – which, honestly, did make it hurt less.’ (This tallies with a point from Cavangh on what pulls people to these sites: 'Celebrities and Instagram influencers have more power and status than most of us. Tearing them down to your social equals may feel a little like reasserting some of your own social power, making you feel less low status.')

The content of the comments is far-ranging. ‘On Tattle Life, I've been slated for my voice, what I wear. My family are criticised. It's every little thing. It feels like you’ve been physically abused and battered. Intellectually, I know these people are saddos, but it does take a couple of weeks to fully realise that.’

She also claims that certain site members have attempted to create IRL implications, reporting her to the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) for alleged misconduct, with regards to paid-for posts. (A spokesperson for Tattle Life said that they cannot comment without being directed to the specific mentions in question.)

As to why she did read the forums, when she heard of them? ‘It’s human nature to read this stuff when someone tells you about it. But I don’t read them, anymore.’

I've actually seen her tagging someone's employer on twitter saying that an employee who she named in the tweet wrote a mean comment on her insta! Why on earth is that ok? Trying to actively lose someone their job and get them in trouble. But if people bitch about her somewhere (that she doesn't have to go to) that isn't ok?! Em sweetheart you need a big old slap of reality. And you need to grow up.

I’ve figured she goes home a lot because a her freebies get sent there, so no doubt she back to pick up another load of make up to shill and flammable polyester to wear.
She also gets her nails and hair done for free. She literally travels half way up the country to get her orange mitts on freebies. Quite gross.

Thing is she isn't that skinny, as in petite. She is quite thick but muscular. I don't think it comes naturally to her which is why she's obsessive.

In Leeds train station today they have so many armed police and a metal detector with signs up saying ‘knife crime reduction’ what a world we live in where this is necessary.

Sorry but I am from the UK and now live in a country where police are armed 24/7 and it is something I fully support now. Within reason, body cams are a must and police should be having regular MH checks. But it makes me feel a lot safer. If something were to happen, such as a terrorist attack or a shooting, the police can react straight away if needed. Batons are going to do fuck all.

Omg. Look at this review from her and then the reply from TripAdvisor. She sounds like a right nasty piece of work. This makes me think even more than when she goes to a hotel she tries to swindle an upgrade in exchange for positive reviews. The hotel was so good in their reply.

Wow!!! Love that hotel’s response.

It would be so great if this could be sent to her and shared with all the brands she works with and see how they feel about working with someone who try’s to blackmail hotels into giving her stuff she hasn’t paid for.

I think this Em as a grafter comment is a bit much and certainly does not mean she is from humble beginnings supporting the entire family. Her mum retired at 53 for heaven's sake, alright for some! From her vlogs you can clearly see they live in a big modern house in a nice village.

I agree Skippy. I’ve noticed many influencers come from well off backgrounds, meaning they have a fall back if it doesn’t work out. How many other people have that luxury? It also means the influencer community is typically white, skinny and rich which is why so many people feel it’s not representative any more.

I have a mortgage and bills to pay so I need a stable job and regular income, if I had rich parents perhaps I would be more comfortable to have a career flogging cereal on Instagram all day. Good point about her mum too. My mum was into her 60s when she retired which is probably normal these days. Ems mum has had an extra ten years of retirement on most women, to run her daughters depop account for her. She must have a good pension, so this is hardly a poor family!

I also think it’s odd that many bigger influencers like inthefrow moved out of London to afford to buy a property yet Em is looking to buy in London. So if all her money is from the blog and insta how is that right? When her peers who make way more money can’t afford it. Nothing adds up with this woman. She’s a con artist.

Accordingly to Amanda we are angry at the world. Nah love, we are sitting here having a good laugh at this stupid industry which has resulted in feeds of manufactured ads, most of which are badly done and influence no one.
