She’s really lucky she grew so quickly with her 9-5 content back when she started. I don’t think she’d have much of a following at all if she only ever produced her current, retiree content.

It's so true, the 9-5 content got her the most views, I still find it odd that she gave up her USP. But there is another YouTuber Jemima Grace (onelane_studios) who also got popular with the whole corporate 9-5 day in my life type of thing and like Ellen gave up her job for YouTube, but the funny thing about Jemima is that she is now cos playing a corporate lifestyle by hiring a WeWork type space that she calls 'the office' and filming the same type of 9-5 content but no longer actually has the corporate job and all the pressure that comes with it - so I suppose in Ellen's defence at least she gave up the corporate lifestyle for something slower/retiree adjacent rather than trying to chase the same views.

Another shopping blog - bought a tit ton of books in some London bookstore! How is she not bankrupt?!

How long before Cameron gets bored living with someone who spends money like water, has the lifestyle of a wealthy Victorian spinster and appears to have limited conversation?! What can she have to talk about, when she’s developed a ‘ladies who lunch’ lifestyle.

What’s next, a dog or a baby. Last year it was the (hardly a surprise, she even told him what ring she wanted) engagement and build up to the wedding, so what’s her focus now?

From the very little we know/see of Cameron - it seems like he likes “taking care” of her. So very little incentive for her to step up and get a job, become more financially literate, etc. it honestly makes me sad because she really used to be the epitome of someone women could look up to - a woman with a full time job, her own mortgage, a side hustle. Now she just gardens, shops and reads all day

I think dog is next on their list!

I don't think Cameron will get bored of her - from what we have seen of him, he seems like a very conventional simple kind of soul, and she has clearly morphed into the kind of woman he wanted; which is a real shame she changed herself so much from being a successful career woman to a basic trad wife type for him..

She always said she was a pescetarian as her mum (and maybe other members of her family?). But she is preparing chicken in her latest video.
I wondered if she'd addressed this. I don't often watch her these days, but watched a vlog recently where she ate ham and also a chicken sandwich, so definitely no longer pescetarian. She may have talked about it, but like I said, I only watch her vlogs every once in a while, so might have missed it.

Not seen anything where she's addressed she's now back to being a meat eater again - she was devouring prosciutto in her last vlog.

It’s all the same thing over and over which is fine when people have lives where they go to work, see friends, do relatable things. But all she does is garden and bake.

She was always so quick to point out that she didn't eat meat and mentioned it quite a lot. I wonder what changed?

Anyone else find it cringe how her whole personality revolves around being a swiftie?

Not to age shame and I’m also in the same age bracket, but I can’t imagine a 30 something year old woman fangirling over another woman’s wedding. Is this what happens when you don’t have much else going on for you?

she literally tries to be every cliche going. She seems to latch onto anything that would make her famous or get a following from TikTok and Instagram, from the books she reads to fangirling over Taylor.

She seems very much like a teenager imo- fangirling non-stop over Taylor Swift, Disney and YA books. She wasn't like this a few years back, so I'm not sure what happened. Maybe, as was said above, it is all just for content and clicks.

I've watched one or two of her recent vlogs and I will say she's toned it down a bit with the constant hand clapping, at least.

I do have a soft spot for Ellen, but her latest videos (apart from the Wimbledon one) are so similar, she goes shopping, she bakes something, she drinks an iced coffee in her garden, she squeals over some clothes, does some skin care. A few of those type of videos now and then would be fine, but she really needs to get some new content if she wants to keep her subscribers.

The thing with the bananas was funny. Cameron saying he'd have one and Ellen saying she didn't have any to spare - while holding seven bunches of bananas! 😄

Another Ellen-type YouTuber - Rachel Sanderling - popped up on my YouTube algorithm the other week (mostly, I think, as she’s based in Cornwall and I watch a lot of a videos of there). Looks similar to Ellen, wears similar clothing, does re-sets and reading BUT she has a full time job, a much calmer demeanour and has what looks to be a pretty fulfilling life. I’m finding her content very much more enjoyable. These types of YouTubers are 10 a penny, though, so do need to make their content interesting and Ellen’s is pretty dull now, and most people in her age group (and I’m not!) don’t have the cash to buy a £1.5M house on the Thames!

She popped up on my homepage last week and I saved the vlog to watch later as I always like to watch anything Cornwall based. I must remember to watch!

I recently started watching Taylor Tippett. She's a flight attendant based in LA. The vlogs I've watched have mostly been lifestyle/day in the life/meal prep/reading. She also shares bits about her working life - layovers etc.
