Thought I’d start a thread to find out if people have an extra income through a side business alongside their normal job and if so what it is? Do you earn money through a hobby? Only Fans? 😜 I’ve been dabbling in reselling and wondered if anyone else here does that? Please discuss! 😃

I dabble in reselling too. The past two years i was really involved in it, earning around £150-200 extra a month. Not so much this year, with car boot sales being called off and charity shops being closed.
Hoping to get back into it next year! Covid permitting.

I do often complete surveys online, whilst this doesn’t earn too much an extra £20-£30 a month helps out and adds to my fun money for the month.

I’ve tried matched betting, heavily involved two years ago whilst saving for my house deposit. Earned around £500 off it. Before I realised how much I despised it and found it so boring! It can be a very good earner though if done correctly.

Yep I think reselling can be good but like you said with everything cancelled this year it’s been tricky. Hopefully next year it will be better.

Matched betting always sounded so complicated so I’ve not really looked into it too much. I’ve heard people do well from it tho.

I think I’m going to look into surveys a bit more, I’m on the computer a lot anyway!

Team Profit is a good place to start with matched betting. They give you step by step instructions, I just find football so boring it put me off!

Prolific is best for surveys, they have a chrome attachment too that alerts you to new surveys.

I do surveys on Prolific but not getting nearly as many now as I used to.

tried matched betting but was hard to keep it up, plus I couldnt seem to get enough free bets to really make it worthwhile.

id love to make some extra cash in 2021 though as this has been a hard year for us financially so I’ll be keeping an eye out here for any good suggestions :)

Like others, I use Prolific - Made about £70 from September to December. I was well chuffed with that.
I also had a huge clear out and sell on Depop - stay away from Hermes shipping and you'll be good to go with that. Lots of families buy second hand for Christmas gifts.
I'm also a teacher and my school allow me to offer private tuition to kids who's parents want it, thats a big money maker for me. Pays my car finance every month - We do it over Zoom now which is great.
I also upload my resources on TeachersPayTeachers and a few other sites, so whenever people buy them, I make a bit.

I'm looking in to making an online Etsy store selling stickers as it looks fun and I can use them myself. Can also beg my headteacher to put the schools orders in with my etsy store so I make a bit extra and can personalise them!

I make and sell wax melts. I make around an extra £800-1000 a month. I work full time and do the wax melts around that. I don’t have young children and I’m single just now so it works and I have a good routine going now. I use the extra money to buy more materials, to get my debt down and for holidays when we can go

I have been doing matched betting, and doing the casino offers too. The casino offers are much more fun though. I made £400 in a month doing the matched betting and the casinos.
I don’t think I’ll carry it on though once I start my new job. Although I’ll probably go onto the casinos and do the free offers.

I'd be a bit reluctant to buy your wax melts based on your username 😂

I make celebration cakes on the side. I've been asked twice to do wedding cake but I'm not confident enough. The money I make goes into the holiday account.

I have my own beauty business on the side. I’ve done it around my full time job for a couple of years now but I’m planning to put a lot more time into it in the new year!

The surveys one is interesting, I haven’t heard of that before. Is it very time consuming?

I work full time but on the side I also retail fragrances that are inspired by your favourite smells but without the designer price tag. It makes me a few hundred pound extra a month and helps pay for all the fun stuff that I like to do (pre covid mind!). I enjoy it as I’m such a bargain hunter so love the products.

Is this FM by any chance? If so please can you explain how you make the money (if you’re allowed)
I’ve seen a lot of people label it as a pyramid scheme and really intrigued what the profit margins are.

I used to do accounts for people who are self employed as a 2nd job, now just have my full time job which is fine and I am not going to do my 2nd job any more

Ooh good for you! So good to have a hobby you can make extra cash from.

Oh yes I think my friend sells those fragrances but I don’t think she is doing as well as you from it so you must be good at selling 😁

That all sounds great, some good extra incomes you have there from what you already do as well!

My user name is aimed at the influencers who sell anything😂😂 I could send my products to them for a bit of extra advertising but I refuse to buy anything an influencer promotes any more and don’t want to encourage them and I have a small fb page and mostly sell to people in my home town
