Dyson Airwrap - worth it?

I don’t have one myself personally but out of everyone I’ve spoken to I’ve only heard good things!

I work with 2 guys and they bought their wives the set with the different detachable heads in it for Christmas and they say their wives love them! I get the impression they do take a bit of practice but I have heard good reviews. Is there anywhere they do money back guarantees? Maybe worth looking to see but other than that, treat yourself!😆💁🏼‍♀️ xx

I have cloud 9 straighteners, fancy curlers and a nice hairdryer and I don't really used them. I need something faff free and easy to use. The straighteners and curlers are just too much effort. I was hoping dyson air wrap could help me with easy routine that doesn't take too much effort. My hair holds curl well. Do you guys think it would work for me? I have wavy hair.

My hair never holds a curl all day so I’m guessing it’s not for me? Which is a shame because if it did hold I’d probably buy one

Could you hunt out a hairdresser who uses them in their salon and ask if they can use them on your hair and if you can have a turn in between sections, to see if you can achieve the same results?

I'm very, very tempted to get one ... someone is selling a "hardly used" one on a marketplace site ...

Usually means that the hair is too damp if it doesn’t wrap round, too dry should have no issues with wrapping but wouldn’t hold as well.

If you’ve just got it this won’t apply - but make sure you clean the filter regularly or it stops picking up hair. Dyson have a short video on YouTube showing how to do that.

Definitely try before you buy if you can, I borrowed the air wrap from a family member and I’m so glad I did. It’s not for me. I have thick wavy coarse hair and the brush attachment was good to get my hair smooth for curling. But I found curling to be a real faff and it just didn’t hold the curl. Tried 3 times to give it a good go but it’s not for me.

Help! Just received mine and I feel like my hair doesn’t automatically wrap around it like I’ve seen in video tutorials. Does this mean it’s too dry?!

Hated mine - ended up selling it after persevering for a few months, seeing the condition of my hair gradually deteriorate. It dried my hair out badly and left it dull. My hair is fine, but I have loads of it. Natural texture is quite coarse and it’s highlighted. Switched back to my Parlux and noticed an improvement in the feel of my hair, even after just one wash, and the shine came back.
The Dyson definitely won’t suit everyone and based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend if your hair is similar to mine.

Sorry - that was my experience with the hair dryer, not the airwrap. I did borrow my mum’s airwrap though and didn’t get on with it. I just couldn’t get to grips with the technique and it was too time consuming for me as I have so much hair. Also the curl didn’t hold for me.

I borrowed my nieces air wrap a couple of months ago and only used it twice and found the curls didn’t hold (yet I didn’t use any additional products other than hairspray) my hair is quite dry as I’m bleached & can hold a curl when I use my old GHD straighteners. Fast forward to last weekend where my boyfriend surprised me with an air wrap for my birthday. Now im desperate to get along with it as I don’t want it to be a waste of money. Does anyone have any videos, tutorials, products they recommend? I used it at the weekend but quickly had to go over my hair with the beauty works wand without my boyfriends knowledge 🙉😵‍💫

My sister in law's a hairdresser she done my hair and used the Dyson hair wrap to finish. My hair is thick, it still took ages to do and the blow-dry wasn't anything extra special tbh.

I was looking into the GHD hairdryer (helios) as an alternative for blow drying. My hair doesn't hold curls well so I've come to the conclusion it probably wouldn't be right for me 🙁 What do you think of the GHD hairdryer?

For those saying it’s good if your hair holds a curl - I have extensions (not now bc of Covid 💔) but my extensions hold curls however my hair before them not so well so do you think it would work for me? X

I have a secret curl, they do hold much better but I’m always worried my hair will get stuck in it and I have such thick hair that the effect is quite 70s disco as have to do it in small sections so end up with loads of curls. Also isn’t great if you want waves further down your hair
