Dyson Airwrap - worth it?

I‘ve had the airwrap for a few years and I absolutely love it, I’ve got long hair so I ended up buying the larger barrels and the smaller brush last year. I use ghd curl spray which seems to help the curls last and the next day I’ve usually still got a nice wave. I got the corrale for Christmas it’s handy for a “quick fix” (when I tie my hair up I always end up with strange creases) but if I’m honest I don‘t feel it’s any better than my corded cloud 9’s I find it quite clunky but it is handy being able to put it on without messing around with the cable. Think Cloud 9 are also bringing out a cordless straightener so maybe theirs will be better.

I wouldn’t recommend this if your hair doesn’t hold a curl. I have fine hair but a lot of it I tried mousse, blow dry lotion, lotta body spray, hairspray and nothing worked I ended up selling it on gumtree. The final straw was after watching YouTube tutorials and buying some new products I spent over an hour doing my hair sweat absolutely peeing out me and the curls had fallen out before I left the house! So annoying! I did love the round volume brush though that was amazing!
Should add I have naturally straight hair and bought it to give myself curly blow dry’s.

If you have an air wrap but the curls don’t hold I recommend the 20mm curl barrels they are amazing, longer and hold the curl for days.

ive been considering these since my GHDs packed up. How long does the battery last on them?

I think it lasts around 35 mins on the middle 185°c setting, my hair naturally has just a slight wave so I can usually straighten it 3 or 4 times between charges. I’ve only used it once to curl my hair and I ended up having to put the cord on at the end but my hair is quite long, probably with practice I would be able to do all of it on one charge. Although I think it does a good job and its so handy I do find it quite clunky to use so I’d maybe look at the new cloud 9 cordless one, from the pictures I’ve seen it looks a lot slimmer but then the hottest it goes is 170°c (dyson goes up to 210°c) and I can’t find on their website how long the battery lasts so it might not last as long as the dyson.

I love it just because I would never blowdry my hair otherwise - I tend to do heatless style to try and protect it. I find using a dressing gown belt on damp hair works better than the curl attachment on the Dyson tbh. Only use it to dry/straighten!

My natural hair is wavy/curly so I still have to straighten my hair after using it which I’m disappointed in. So just bare that in mind before purchasing.

I had it for 6 months so definitely tried but there was nothing that worked! I’m getting the babyliss keratin hot styler because it looks very similar to the dyson round brush attachment and I’m going to try the curl luxe for my waves

I like it, but with the curling if I've not used in a while I'm no good at it there are other attachments for it that make the hair lovely, I use them more often.

So worth it! For many years I could only get away with washing my hair every other day but now I have the airwrap, I can go about 4/5 days. That might not be a lot to most people but my hair is heavily bleached and oily at the root x

I have the Dyson hairdryer which is incredible! I got it for Christmas from my mum a few years ago (a total surprise! ) and would never look back.

I really fancy the Airwrap as well, but is it mad to have both..? Even though the hairdryer obviously doesn't have the features the Airwrap does. It's so expensive! I have the Babyliss curl secret which is absolutely lovely, great results that last a couple of days, but it takes quite a while. Hmmm what to do!

That's such a shame! My hair is the same type as yours and also naturally straight so I don't think it would work either, and it never lasts when my hairdresser styles it so not much hope for my own skills. I think I might just upgrade my hairdryer and straighteners for half the price.

I love mine! I have bum length, thick, wavy hair and I think it's great, the brush straightens out my hair enough to only go around my face with my straighteners. Have only tried the curlers a few times but my hair doesn't hold a curl anyway so not so bothered about that.

Took me a couple of weeks to really practice and perfect using it and now I absolutely love the results, my hair is naturally quite frizzy so I do have to take my time making sure I section it properly etc but it’s never looked so good! Definitely worth the money.

Usually means that the hair is too damp if it doesn’t wrap round, too dry should have no issues with wrapping but wouldn’t hold as well.

If you’ve just got it this won’t apply - but make sure you clean the filter regularly or it stops picking up hair. Dyson have a short video on YouTube showing how to do that.

I have cloud 9 straighteners, fancy curlers and a nice hairdryer and I don't really used them. I need something faff free and easy to use. The straighteners and curlers are just too much effort. I was hoping dyson air wrap could help me with easy routine that doesn't take too much effort. My hair holds curl well. Do you guys think it would work for me? I have wavy hair.

This is me too. Them Dyson ones seem really expensive I wish you could try before you buy

I was looking into the GHD hairdryer (helios) as an alternative for blow drying. My hair doesn't hold curls well so I've come to the conclusion it probably wouldn't be right for me What do you think of the GHD hairdryer?

I love my ghd hairdryer.

If I use a cheap hair dryer I look like hagrid! But the GHD one makes my hair a lot straighter and smoother

I got one from my partner for Christmas last year. It's absolutely brilliant. I love it. I had Cloud Nines which I never found great, but there is absolutely no comparison between them and the airstrait. They're terrible in comparison.
They wrecked my hair because I kept having to go over it again and again and it was never straight, whereas with the airstrait, it's literally one pass through and it's perfectly straight and lasts all day.

They're expensive, but so worth it.
My partner bought them on Dyson's own site and they were £50 less than buying instore at the time. Some of the colours are cheaper than others too. I have the navy blue ones and I know they were cheaper than the blush ones.
