I wonder why (I know fucking exactly why) they have added eunuch to the 'trans umbrella'? Could it be because that is exactly what they are doing to these kids. So when the kids have no sexual function whatsoever, they can still feel part of the special family that did this to them in the fucking first place! It makes me so angry.

Exactly. If you were to tell people about the historical practice of castrating little boys before puberty so they had high pitched voices and never became a man they’d be absolutely horrified at such barbaric practices. But tell them the child is ‘trans’ and all of a sudden it becomes ‘empowering’. The end result is the same. It’s the same with ‘binders’ for girls - no different to breast ‘ironing’ in the Cameroon. People have become so unbelievably stupid in the last few years it hurts my brain.

I think these issues come with varying degrees of context and I don't think one case of someone's transgender identity should reflect on everyones but a lot of what is being posted here doesn't feel very reflective of facts. I've only known one transgender person and they came to the realisation at 50 years of age but this whole 'agenda' idea that people want to 'mutilate' young people is absurd.

I respect everyone is allowed have their opinions and since I don't fall in the LGBT community I can't talk for anyone in it but it just feels like a lot of people in this thread just don't like transgender people and could benefit by actually talking to some about their experiences of dysphoria and the humanity of it. This all feels very THEY'RE COMING TO TAKE OUR CHILDREN!

Speaking for myself, I am disturbed by Dylan’s gross misrepresentation of “girlhood” and his offensive, regressive, misogynistic portrayal of women and girls. As for making Dylan a representative of transgender ideology, he’s done a pretty good job doing that himself without us. He was invited to the White House for crying out loud! As a transgender spokesperson.
Can I invite you to read some of the gender thread as it might give you more of an insight into why people find Dylan and his ilk so problematic. This isn’t just about hating someone for being trans. It is genuine concern for what the TRA movement is doing to the rights of women and girls.

We've already discussed these issues endlessly on the gender thread. Perhaps you should learn what's really going on before denouncing people who have concerns about children being given drugs that will have irreversible effects on them.
That's called child abuse.

Dylan is a poser desperate for attention from weak minded people who think it's acceptable for him to portray womanhood as being afraid of bugs, crying and wearing high heels. It's gross misogyny.

The hiking heels but made me irrationally super angry. Dylan- go and watch any number of female hiking vlogs; thru hike films etc and tell me are you woman enough for it?!

Perhaps people, mostly women, would feel less inclined to be all ‘won’t someone think of the children’ if so much of this stuff wasn’t directed steadfastly towards vulnerable and impressionable children. The vast majority of Mulvaney’s fans are children on TikTok for a start.
I couldn’t give a shiny shit about anyone’s 50 year old friend suddenly discovering they are ‘trans’ but if that person starts dressing like a toddler or trying to get into spaces where there are children or vulnerable women then I’m going to be suspicious because it’s suspicious behaviour.
If we are all way off the mark I’d be interested to know why NHS England commissioned Dr Hilary Cass to look into the practices of the Tavistock Centre and why she came to the conclusion that ‘The Tavistock gender clinic is “not a safe or viable long-term” option for young people and children’.

You just need to follow the time line of events. Not only does it give guidance on how to quietly bring in laws so children can be transed, it also gives guidance on how to shut women's group the fuck up, they knew women, particularly feminists and lesbians, would be the ones to disagree. Ten years down the line we have detransitioners starting to speak up about their horrific experiences. So not only do the TRAs label them as not really trans, every place online where they could talk about their experience was shut down. Talking about Reddit in particular here, closed detrans reddit and the feminist reddits. Thousands of childrens horrific experiences shut down.

And now even the transed children who are 'happy' with their new bodies, have no sexual feeling at all. Of course not, because they were given fucking lupron! So now we have to come up with something to cover that. So we include eunuchs under the trans umbrella. Its ok kids, you are still one of us. Not only have we turned kids into eunuchs, the fucking report talking about it links to websites which include eunuch porn. For fucks sake, they are turning the kids into fucking playthings.

And all that is even before we get started on 'Age Play' and grown ass men dressing as babies as some sort of fetish. And it being accepted as not at all fucking sick. You only need to look as far (in the UK) at organisations such as Mermaids - and of course, the Webberleys - to see what's been happening to youngsters in this country in terms of medicalisation. Mermaids are now in a lot of trouble and the Webberleys shouldn't ever be allowed to practice medicine again.

Dylan Mulvaney has built an entire following - 9 million on TikTok now - on a gross misrepresentation of what it is to 'be' a girl. His channel is being viewed by minors and by their parents who are re-sharing his content. I saw recently, one example of a UK based mum who was sitting watching his content with her toddler son and using Dylan as a 'great' example of womanhood and she was getting her son to explain why it was OK for Dylan to say he was a woman (I'm trying to find the clip and can't, if I do I'll repost it - this was on Instagram).

Aside from the horrible caracaturing and posturing - he's promoting this idea that the whole transition process is roses round the door - whether it's hormones/FFS etc with a few fun videos done in consultant's offices etc. It isn't. To me he's almost making it look like it's easy and fun. The fact he then got invited to the White House to speak to the President about this - after 200 days or whatever of transitioning? Do me a favour! How many other more eloquent and better experienced transgender humans got passed over for that?

Most of us have. We've been trans allies or we're LGB ourselves.

The popular consensus of the trans community today is that you don't need dysphoria to be trans and anyone who thinks that is essentially a "truscum" bigot. Maybe this would be an opportunity for you to read up on transmedicalism.

Besides that, most of us are aware of how things like self-ID exposes loopholes for predators to access women and girls. When people (mostly women) bring this up, we're told we're over exaggerated or we're using it to cover for our hatred of trans people. Yet it was trans children's charity Mermaids who managed to hire a p*edo apologist so I don't think we should be taking any safeguarding lectures from the people who are constantly telling us it'll be fine when they can't even safeguard their own organisations.

I’m looking forward to the day people start giving a shit about the rights and ‘humanity’ of actual women again, personally. According to her 'trans rights' are about people like her friend having access to HRT and treatment on the NHS. My daughters friend currently has to buy her own HRT online.

While I do feel a bit sorry for her friend, do we think that this should be available free or not

Years ago the NHS used to do some cosmetic surgery for free (like nose jobs) but I don't know if this is still the case or not.

While there is a HRT shortage I don't feel sorry for them at all.

Women who suffer with the menopause should get it first. Not men charading as a woman.

ETA they do get treatment on the NHS just not to the extent or speed at which they want it. If TRAs had their way they would be the first priority of the NHS ahead of cancer etc. They don't get the concept of waiting lists and to them their treatment is as life important as cancer treatment because they will kill themselves if they don't get it when they ask for it.

The NHS is a shambles. People are waiting months or years for actual medical treatment so forgive me if I don’t care if some bloke gets his hormones to grow some A-cup moobs. Transgender treatment is cosmetic and used to treat mental illness so it absolutely should not be available on the NHS. I wouldn’t support people with body dysmorphia or anorexia being offered liposuction on the NHS so why would I support those with gender dysphoria being offered similar treatments?

I certainly agree that the NHS should be prioritising those who need treatment for heart disease, cancer etc.

I meant to post this on the gender discussion thread so sorry about that.

Personally I think my daughters friend faced some trauma in childhood (along with having some degree of autism) which has caused a lot of her current problems which is why I feel a bit sorry for her. Sadly for her she will never pass as a woman and I suspect will find it very difficult to ever find a suitable partner.

There's plenty of 'actual women' who can't get HRT, so why should we be giving it to a bloke as a higher priority?

Like I said I am not part of the LGBT community so I can't comment on the perspective of being within all I can do is try look at it with a sense of humanity. The idea that you don't agree with Dylan reflecting on the rest of the community is absurd in my eyes. I don't think as a straight woman my life is reflective of every straight woman. I also choose to think that if I don't like the way someone is putting themselves forward a lot of that can be the fact that I can't understand the journey that led them there. All transgender people go through their own journey to that decision so I wouldn't imagine any transgender person will be the same person as another.

I respect opinions on thinking that womanhood isn't what Dylan is putting forward, I don't particularly like her videos because I see she is quite forced but there are plenty of women who I am sure don't fit your ideas of womanhood. We are all different. Pointing me to the gender thread, I'd really rather not engage there because its clear that this is a very angry thread and I respect that. I just think there is very little compassion in any of these arguments and as I said, posting a video from Matt Walsh and claiming you respect women is hypocrisy. I find that people who are scared of the gender conversation start to align themselves with really bad people like Matt just because they are singing to them for their support on transgender people. Its an incredibly complex issue but the 'men in dresses' rhetoric everyone seems to fly with here disregards any of the mental strain someone with gender dysphoria must go through. I can't imagine it. You're just painting them as predators with intent on demeaning women and making them feel unsafe. Why don't you ever talk in the same way about transgender men? Or do they not matter in the same way I remember people not caring so much about lesbians back in the 80s but the gay men were the problem.

I don't really like Dylan but it doesn't reflect on my appreciation of the journey of transgender people, same way I was an awful driver I wouldn't want everyone to try and ban all women from the road.
