There’s a blind item saying it was the lead singer of an A list group. It would make sense if he’s not British as it would explain why they didn’t prosecute.
who has she been linked to in the music industry though? I only know of the welsh rugby player

'it is believed she now looks very different and her new management is using black-and-white photographs taken in her heyday.'

'Listed for sale in 2024 at £7.5million, the hideaway finally sold last summer for £5.3million at a Sotheby's auction.

She has also signed with music management company TaP – the home of US star Lana Del Rey – in the hope of releasing new tracks.'

Between this, showing the house and mentioning her name change, it seems like they're hoping someone recognises her and comes forward with a more recent photo of her. Otherwise why report 'former celebrity sold house nearly a year ago'? I feel like they have to be breadcrumbing something.

I definitely don't trust them to be sensitive about any appearance changes at all.

It kind of bothers me the way she is drip feeding this story. Sorry, I have to say it.

I don't disbelieve that something really horrible happened to her and she's had a shitton of trauma because of it but I'm getting a whiff of using it to sell her comeback and it's a bit suss to me when people do that kind of thing, especially when it appears to be there are big chunks of the story they aren't including so stuff doesn't quite join together but we're demanded to accept without question.

Meh, if she wants to relaunch she has to address it, so it’s in the hands of PR people now. It’s her story to tell, she decides.

Though if big details are left out, people are just naturally going to ask questions so I hope she's prepared for that.

It’s been over ten years, I’d say she would be. She can’t really come back without it coming up so at least she has some control.
Nobody’s been charged AFAIK so she’s not likely to be dropping “Baby Reindeer” sized hints about who was behind it and causing herself more trouble.

She's been the main story of the Mail today. Has a documentary coming on Disney+ and is starting to do live performances again (understandably to just small audiences for now).

Is it me or is there an undercurrent of skepticism in the way the kidnap/grape is written about? Not that I give it importance, gutter press are gonna gutter press but it's a vibe I feel is there.

Maybe the documentary will make Duffy's story clearer. I just wish her well.

I've just read it too. Theres a sweet pic pf her in a welsh cafe. I am looking forward to hearing her new music. She doesn't owe anyone any more of an explanation and says that the name of the kidnapper is between her and the police.

I agree about this but it's human nature that people are going to have questions.

Like I say, I hope she's well. I also look forward to hearing her music, I wonder what sound she'll be doing now. I feel it will probably be completely different to the albums after so long.
