It kind of bothers me the way she is drip feeding this story. Sorry, I have to say it.

I don't disbelieve that something really horrible happened to her and she's had a shitton of trauma because of it but I'm getting a whiff of using it to sell her comeback and it's a bit suss to me when people do that kind of thing, especially when it appears to be there are big chunks of the story they aren't including so stuff doesn't quite join together but we're demanded to accept without question.

Horrific, I'm not sure I even want to watch the interview when it comes out.

I thought she just retired after that coke advert and the comeback single didn't perform. I don't think she liked the entertainment industry, she hated that Welsh pop idol that aled from radio 1 was a judge on.

I hope there's some positivity out of it all and she's well on her way to recovery

This was pretty much what I thought had happened. I even read a few pieces that said as much. Oh my Lord, this is awful.

Between this, showing the house and mentioning her name change, it seems like they're hoping someone recognises her and comes forward with a more recent photo of her. Otherwise why report 'former celebrity sold house nearly a year ago'? I feel like they have to be breadcrumbing something.

I definitely don't trust them to be sensitive about any appearance changes at all.

Though if big details are left out, people are just naturally going to ask questions so I hope she's prepared for that.

It’s been over ten years, I’d say she would be. She can’t really come back without it coming up so at least she has some control.
Nobody’s been charged AFAIK so she’s not likely to be dropping “Baby Reindeer” sized hints about who was behind it and causing herself more trouble.

That is quite a harsh article to be honest.Surprising. I don't think it's pointing the finger at the ex at all. The quotes from Bernard Butler (who I LOVE) kind of indicate that she might not have told anyone about what happened and they all just through she went a bit crazy for a while. I seem to remember reading a blind article about the fire in her house, somthing like she started it or something? I remember it being in the news, I think it was a massive incident, whole place was destroyed.

I remember when I first read the story I got the impression that her partner was somehow involved in the kidnapping and that the country she was taken to was a Middle Eastern country where he had a lot of contacts. I don't know now if that is what I read or just the impression I got from the story.

I believe her but agree that the way she has written it is very confusing and she would have benefitted from getting someone (anyone!) to proof read it before submission or gone through official PR, seems such a shame to go through the effort of keeping everything hush to then reveal all in such a scrambled manner.

Also did none of her family or friends report her missing?! How long was she gone?

Since she initially spoke about it, it did come across like there were some very important details of some kind missing to be honest. The story just didn't quite link together for me.

But it's clear she's been through some sort of big trauma and she's brave for speaking publically about it. I hope she is doing well and is continuing to heal. I love her first album still.

I've just read it too. Theres a sweet pic pf her in a welsh cafe. I am looking forward to hearing her new music. She doesn't owe anyone any more of an explanation and says that the name of the kidnapper is between her and the police.

I agree about this but it's human nature that people are going to have questions.

Like I say, I hope she's well. I also look forward to hearing her music, I wonder what sound she'll be doing now. I feel it will probably be completely different to the albums after so long.

This is an interesting read. An old article which seems to raise a lot of questions.

I can only imagine the suffering she’s endured, and has probably realised now in sharing her ordeal that the gaps will need filled.

It obviously was someone she knew. He was a guest at her birthday party. Maybe he did have access to her passport, but she still had to go to an airport, go through airport security and board a flight. Sit for the duration of the flight. Disembark. Walk through the airport. Etc - not exactly easy to do with someone who’s heavily drugged I’d imagine.

It’s not unreasonable to question things that don’t make sense.

I’m well aware that horrific things happen in the world, I’m simply trying to make sense of what she’s claiming to have happened, based on the information she’s made public and it’s patchy at best.
