This is one of Jessica’s projects. I hope she does it as it will really shine more light on her BS View attachment 1553303light on her BS.
Jeeeeeesus Christ. She’s trying to debunk the very concept of mental illness? All of them? She couldn’t be any more salty/in denial about her own issues if she tried.

Puts me in mind of (and this is something I have direct experience of!) people who say that autism and ADHD are over-diagnosed. They look at the traits and diagnostic criteria and say “Look at this! These are normal traits! Surely everyone must have autism/ADHD if this is how they’re diagnosed!”

Except they have a skewed idea of “normal” because - drumroll - they have autistic/ADHD traits themselves and mistakenly believe everyone else must be the same boat.

I just can’t believe Jessica thinks that all 541 disorders listed in the DSM would crumble under her scrutiny 🤣

She's utterly delusional. Does she think it will be like a scene from a movie where she's a plucky young psychologist armed with nothing but a "battery of tests" to combat the evil DSM? I suppose at the end all the women will applaud her and hoist her on their shoulders to celebrate her heroism?

She has no business advising vulnerable women of anything. I wouldn't even trust her to give directions to the local shops.

<movie voice>In a world dominated by the DSM, one plucky young psychologist is brave enough to go against the establishment to get to the truth. Based on a true-if-you-want-it-to-be story of how one woman single-handedly took down the corrupt world of modern psychology, coming this fall..."On The Fringe"... starring Melissa McCarthy as Dr Jessica Taylor</movie voice>

God I need to find a better way to occupy my time.

Goes on to thank her awesome and valued team. So awesome, but not awesome enough that she shares their names. In fact, we really don't know who this magical team is compromised of.

Way to hog all the spotlight.

Why doesn't she profile, name, and platform her staff?

Jaimi and I etc etc...

Offensive to the hard-working people they employ.

Well, the latest Facebook post is quite something.
“Trauma informed psychologist” yet doesn’t work clinically/face to face. Is quite dangerous to say in this instance.

She has the whole idea of diagnoses with trauma quite wrong. The change needs to be that trauma can cause x,y,z and that’s the root and then work with that, which is happening more of.
Those of us on the front line know this.

Anyone saying things like she’s suggesting doesn’t get credit anymore.
She has no idea of the reality.

She's obviously talking to us, as she is replying to all the issues raised here over the last couple of days. But instead of having the courage to speak on here. She addresses the concerns on a platform where she knows she could say grass is blue and a hundred people would agree.

Yes, cmon and chat with us properly, Jess. Since you're a Dr and all. Explain everything and put this to bed once and for all, eh?

I like how she considers herself an academic too but won't allow her work to be peer-reviewed, doesn't follow ethics when conducting research, ie. Let's just use vulnerable women's stories for my next bestseller without their consent and then gaslight the ones brave enough to call her out on her social media platforms.

Also, I'm not being funny, but is she a historian too? Has she followed the historical development of psychiatry and how and why many mental health illnesses are treated in the NHS the way they are? Is she just aiming to debunk decades of research by actual academics and clinicians on the front line in one swoop on her new Netflix show?

Can't. Bloody. Wait.

I don't even know where to start
I haven’t read the whole thing but delirium is clinically recognised and has varying levels of mortality. It has been considered a medical emergency in every ward I’ve worked and you receive training on how to recognise delirium.

That she thinks delirium is just “woooo I’m crazy” and not a serious medical condition speaks volumes about her lack of clinical experience. She is a joke.

She hasn't had any front line work and has no clinical experience and the more she talks, the more it shows.

She has a very narrow view of the scope of mental health issues.

Jesus wept, she's dangerous. It sounds like nobody actually working in mental health takes her seriously from what I've read (sorry Jess, I know you'll be fuming when you read that) but, as a patient, I feel like this should be forwarded to every NHS trust to make sure no well-meaning admin staff decide VF training is a good use of funds or whatever. It genuinely scares me that she wants to experiment on people like me.

It’s really quite frightening that she thinks her small amount of work experience and education makes her an expert on pretty much everything.
