We're in the process of buying a house from a couple with a lab and they've also created a bedroom for him under the stairs! 😍 Trying to convince my husband to keep it as a room for our dog instead of using it for storage. 😂
I’m glad it’s not just us! 🤣 it’s so sweet, we’ve put a little bit of carpet down in it and he has his bed and his toys in there, we just need to add a little press on light for him 😅 (we recently had to isolate and it was made to kill some time while we were stuck indoors!) We have kept the cupboard door for it for the next owners when we eventually sell in case they’re not big dog people like us and would prefer a normal cupboard 😂 personally, I think you should definitely keep the doggy bedroom 😏

We have a 4 month old lab. Growing up both our parents never let our family dogs upstairs / on the sofa so we said we’d do the same, but the day we bought that 8 week old puppy home... I couldn’t sit on the sofa and watch tv without a cuddle!? So now he helps himself to the sofa whether we are on it or not, but I always ensure there is a blanket on there as although I love him I am a bit too in love with my expensive sofa to let it get hairy etc. (Even before the dog I hoovered it weekly). He’s now started climbing the stairs and does enjoy a mooch about but I don’t think I’d like him sleeping upstairs with me. I tried it once last week when I was alone but he cried and ran back to his crate, he feels cosy and safe there I think so we will continue to crate him at night. (Don’t crate hate me). When he’s done with the crate eventually he’ll have free roam of downstairs, currently has beds in the kitchen and living room so imagine they’ll both stay.
I was very skeptical about using a crate, but when my dogs were pups, it worked good, I never shut them in, put a blanket over the top so it was more like a den for them, now they sleep wherever they want!!!

Hope your doggies are coping with fireworks tonight, am lucky my boys aren't bothered, theym more concerned with our visiting fox!
Just been snuggling with my jr, he'll be 12 next year, has been suffering with ill health most of his life, been looking at his face, his eyes are starting to bulge and are cloudy,so it reminds me they aren't here for very long, ive always had dogs, but the heartbreak of losing them has been the worst pain I've ever known ( yep have lost friends n family) I keep saying no more dogs, but I can't imagine my life without them.

I have just bought the first Christmas present and it is.... for the dog. I told my teenager it is because he is my favorite child 🤣. Never smarts off to me. Loves me unconditionally.

I have a bichon cross and she sleeps between me and my husband on top of the covers!! She does have a dog bed which is next to my side of the bed that she settles down in, but inevitably every morning I wake up and shes laying next to me completely deep asleep 🥰

We adopted a stray from Zante back in January...

She's absolutely gorgeous, so loving and adorable. But we also have a 6yr old female (and very grumpy) cat.

Dog lives downstairs, cat lives upstairs. To be fair, the cat has only just got around to tolerating the husband after he tried to take her to the vets 3years ago (I had to ring them and apologise for the no-show 🙄), so bringing a dog in was probably being too optimistic 🤣😜

Therefore the dog gets the sofa, the cat gets the bed.

Am so annoyed, my dog has been attacked earlier, he was first attacked 18 months ago, and it's taken alot of hard work for him to trust other dogs, but today was awful, both mine on leads, a dog off the lead went for them, I managed to pick my oldie up, and was trying to get this dog off mine, who had obviously had enough and was having ago back, it was horrendous, I was livid with the other dog owners, now I'm shaken and soo upset.

So sorry to hear this. Did you get any details of owner or pictures? Please report this to the police as having an out of control is illegal.

No I didn't, they just put their dog on the lead, said he's never done that before , sorry and buggered off!!! I've never seen them before, it's a local walk to me, unfortunately I was on my own, and had my oldie in my arms whilst trying to see if my other dog was ok.

I would still report it as it could be that they are known. What kind of a dog did they have?

It was a Labrador, tbh waste of time reporting it, why can't folks understand if you put your dog's on leads when approached by other dogs, there's a reason for it.

Some people are ultra thick and don’t understand that. I’ve had problems with Labradors before. In the local park one day, A male came up to my female medium size dog and jumped on top of her and slammed her to the ground. There were three of us there and we pulled him off her. We called the number on his tag and the owner had already left the park and somehow left the dog behind. Unbelievable. Was your dog injured?

I know, and it's not down to what people think are the aggressive breeds, my boys have met all sorts, but labradors and boxers have been the worst. No thank god, I've had a good check over of him, but it's the mental side I now have to deal with, again, plus me taking them out and not showing anxiety, just soo annoyed .

My old lady who we lost a couple of years ago to a brain tumour was attacked twice. Once by a staffy owned by a drug addict, we were both terrified and I was frozen to the spot with fear. Someone had to beep their car horn to get the owners attention and she came and punched the dog off mine. I was so sad after because I physically couldn’t move and stood screaming for help, I should have fought the dog off myself. I’ve never met a nasty staffy before or since!
I called the police because I was concerned for other dogs and children. They said there was nothing they could do for dog on dog attacks 😢

I didn’t bother reporting the attack by my mums neighbours German shepherd but I did tell her to put a bleeping muzzle on her dog as it was known to be vicious.

so sorry to hear you had to go through this xx

So sorry. We’ve had problems with a pack of schnauzers (3) and a pack of border collies, also 3. Also another two labs including one large puppy whose owner thought my dog was being aggressive for telling his dog off after harassing my dog after running away from his owner.🤦‍♀️ Also One large Rottweiler owned by a moron. The dog was out of control and went after smaller dogs to bite and knocked me over. The police were informed and they visited the owner and we never saw the dog again. It’s not true that they can’t do something.

Yorkies here too and I’m pinned in place every night with one between my legs and one down the side of me ! I think it depends on the breed for me, Iv had a lab who didn’t set foot upstairs or on the couch but small dogs that go anywhere they please.

Just read about the attacks, it really grinds my gears when people think because theyre dog is usually ok that they should just run up to everyone else’s dogs. We had a spaniel attack my yorkie, mine were on the lead and the spaniel ran in to him with such force he actually strangled himself on my dogs lead and just turned on him. It was awful and took ages for the owner to appear. Her response was “he’s normally fine”. If your dog is off lead and nowhere near you or not responding to you that’s not ok in my eyes. We had another experience yesterday on a sand dune at the beach. My daughter was standing on a ledge of a sand dune and someone let their dog run up to her, the dog seemed lovely but it was almost the size of her and she got a huge fright, jumped off the dune and really hurt herself. The owner didn’t even respond.
