Wasn’t it Bulletguy who wanted to prove someone wrong about being able turn a car around in a tunnel?

On another note, old DaisyDee appears to be still banned after the fracas in the Classic Corrie thread last week, whilst the instigator AngelMarie87 is back after what appears to be just a week's ban. I hope DaisyDee's not on a permanent ban because she quite pleasant and harmless and had been on the site for 16+ years.
That will probably mean a lifetime ban then. DS doesn't like people that are pleasant and been on the site for years ;)

It used to be if someone was downright homophobic/racist/abusive you could see why they had been banned but these days it's for the most bizarre things.

I fully agree. I blame the inconsistent moderation in recent years on DS as to why more former posters from there have now moved to here. Not just those who have been banned without any decent rhyme or reason, also those who are starting to realise the whole forum is no longer what they once knew and liked posting on.
Maybe somebody (thanks, PtD !), might like to round up all the comments about DS moderation and send it (anonymously) to the moderators!

I honestly think one day someone will turn up here saying they were banned from DS because they went on a thread and said 'Good Morning' and some one on the thread was having a bad morning so they were baiting. Banned for life 🤪

Oh absolutely.

I've been there since 2004 and have had many bans, none permanent (thus far). TBH I rarely bother any more - Tattle is da BEST

It was mentioned somewhere in this thread about what 'discussions' meant on DS and the number. I've only ever started two threads in all my time there and yet the number of discussions is a lot more than that. I seemed to think it was someone looking at your profile or something. an someone tell me what it means?

The number represents the number of threads you've started plus the number of posts you've reported to the mods.

Oh right ... That makes sense. I went through a phase when thread wars broke out. Nothing ever happened to the posts I reported. Quelle Surprise.

You may as well piss in the wind…..

It does however seem to suggest they are trying to manipulate public opinion/narrative by siding with one side of the argument… for example, in the Politics forum, you see a lot of “Come on Brexiters, we’re still waiting for you to talk to us” messages on there, but those very posters and mods have systematically got those people banned so there is no longer a voice for the other side of the argument, thus making it look like no-one can come up with any counter-argument to their rhetoric so the casual browser of the forum might believe that opinion is generally as perceived. And I’m pretty sure that was still happening during the referendum and in elections which isn’t really fair and balanced.

According to the world of DS, everyone is non-binary or LGBT+, a Labour voter, an ardent remainer, absolutely ADORES Classic Corrie, grinds their own coffee, cures their own bacon in their smokehouse, never has a takeaway and insists on making everything from scratch, detests Wetherspoons and reads The Guardian. Not that there is anything wrong at all with the above, however it is just very one sided over there.

They say over there that the current government is corrupt. Well people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. Rant over. Now where’s my (instant) coffee…?

I think the only other forum that comes close to being as horrible as DS, is the Student Room.

It's very bizarre. They just surround themselves with similar thinking people and then are surprised when someone like Boris runs away with the election or Brexit and then can't understand how it happened. Just because you've managed get posters banned or put people off posting doesn't mean those people have gone away or had some sort of epiphany and come round to their way of thinking.

The LBC thread is the strangest place at the moment. I genuinely have no idea what they're talking about these days. It's like they've created their own language. Just look at the last couple of days posts. The irony being those posters are the same ones who used to complain about cliques!

There are still some genuinely great threads on DS and some posters I really like but it's a political cesspit.

For the record, I'm also a fan of instant coffee, takeaways and couldn't give a toss about Classic Corrie :)

I was a member of DS for about 4 years. But because of my age (18 when I first joined) I was always slammed by the regulars for "you're only a kid. What do you know. Go back to school and learn something"

but the abuse became even more hostile over the last 18 months when you only had to criticise a celeb and the fanboys/girls would jump all over you and the mods would threaten you with warnings/bans.

I do so hope none of those saddoes end up over here
