I think it's a game to some to see who they can get banned and then act all innocent asking where they are so they can have an 'inhouse' laugh about it. Poor Sulla was literally hounded out and they still take the piss out of him (I think they were male) even now which I thought talking about banned members was supposed to be against the rules.

I once had a 24 hour ban. The email definitely came after more than 12 hours. I remember at the time being really shocked by the ban. I got a ban forI was just intrigued because I’d noticed there hadn’t seem to be any bannings on DS for a while and then saw your post about being a long time poster who was banned, and someone else has since replied saying they were banned too. I looked at the profile of the person who I suspect is a mod and they were last active today (prior to that, they were last active in October which made sense as to why the ban hammer had stopped hammering down so hard the last few months)
But the profile says they were last seen at 08:16 so the timing is just over 12 hours off (unless it takes 12 hours from the time of the ban to the time you get an email about it)
rolling my eyes I don't know if they still ban for this. So many DS users had been banned for the same thing. There was so much ganging up and bullying on users and they got never banned? There always seemed like one opinion was allowed. If your opinion wasn't what they had then you had them all go on attack. SULLA was one of my favourite posters. Then he vanished. He was a gentleman, didn't care if they tried to mock him as he could take as much as he got, and we sometimes had a little PM together, even if I just thanked him for something.

I remember one time years ago now something went wrong with the forum and a different forum appeared that was obviously meant for the mods use only, everyone who was on DS at that time saw it and a thread was started in GD about it. Obviously that thread was then deleted, but clearly they have their own community where they talk about things. Probably other members. Why is it all so secretive?

There's something deeply "off" about DS Politics forum. The thoroughly nasty people on there get away with being abusive, sneery and really are people you wouldn't want to mix with in the real world. Their whole lives seem to be spent behind a keyboard trolling people. I'd like to say you're better off out of that nest of vipers but the forum is absolutely pointless if differing opinions are not allowed. It's just a fascist site with only one side allowed to speak their mind. The more despicable ones on that "forum" have got used to running the show and democracy is a word they like to use often but haven't got the nous to see that there's nothing remotely democratic about that forum.
I think annemarie1066 could be a contender for getting posters banned.

There’s another very prominent member who causes trouble, rants if she doesn’t like your post, bleats to the mods and next thing you know, a warning or ban appears.
We all know who she is- if not, perhaps if I say narcissistic, fantasist, sordid sexploits, you will know who I mean. I think this poster was the ringleader, responsible for the bans.

I don’t know when and why they stopped but they used to display that they were a DS mod when shutting down threads or keeping them on track. But they were from their own accounts, not “Support”.
That’s what I have an issue with. Obviously all forums need moderation otherwise it would be a free for all, it’s the faceless aspect of it. Why the secrecy? And more to the point how do you even get chosen to be a mod there?
I suspected that poster because when a massive cull took place, that poster would be one of the last to comment before it happened or one of the first to comment after it did.
They advertised for it on a thread. I’ll try and find it later.
I too think Taglet is a moderator. Too many times I saw a thread get culled and closed with people being banned right after she rocked up in it. It happened too many times for it to be a coincindence.
Taglet is a prize bleep. Nothing matters more than having children.
Banglaroad is a another vindictive hole who dominates the radio section especially the LBC chit chat thread and if you don't listen to the right radio station/presenter he takes great delight in calling you a fascist nazi gammon I would love to see him get his comeuppance one day.

I find he usually accuses everyone of being a racist if you don't agree with him no matter what the topic of the thread is - Gammon is also one of his favourites. I thought he'd been quiet for a while but realised he spent most of his time on the LBC thread but seems to have drifted back towards the politics forum in the last few days.
There's quite a few lacking in self-awareness.
It probably is for the best but it's so annoying that they keep dishing out warnings and bans for minor things while the chosen few blatantly break all the forum rules, bait and troll while collectively belittling other forum members who dare to have their own mind and yet nothing is ever done to them so it would be nice to see some of them taken down a peg or two. If I'd have known I was getting a permanent ban, I would like to have at least gone out in a blaze of glory and told some home truths.
