I understand that a lot of the pseudo politicians on DS are also on twitter. Many of them post links to twitter. Mind you, some of them post links from the Daily Mail but only ever with a disclaimer to say that they don't read it because then they'd be out of the loop so to speak! Then others post about the comments in the Daily Mail online so that they can complain about them and appear to be one of the fool gang. They love to be permanently offended and outraged. It must be very tiring:D
You always get a load of people saying they're not reading a Mail link whenever you do that! It's really childish!

I was on there for about 8 years, stopped posting about 2 years back. I made the mistake of asking a question about something technical that I was struggling to get my head around and all I got back was sarky "Google is your friend" comments and links to the user manual, even though I had said that I had downloaded the manual but didn't quite get it! There's a few on there that can't wait to go all high and mighty to feel superior.

I had something similar. I think the problem with a lot of the DS 'old timers' is they think they are invincible, which isn't exactly untrue.

One thing I did find amusing when you'd have people bumping old threads was when you looked through the thread, large proportions of members would naturally be inactive, but the ones who were rude and standoffish would always be the ones still active.

OMG I use to post on there but it become so unsavoury especially the soaps forum, I use to get unsolicited messages from a weirdo on there, never again.

I used to post on the soaps forum and had the same experience after I took pity on a poster that was being picked on. She kept messaging me hoping I would back her up.

I gave up on there as everyone used to take it all too seriously. The EE thread here isn't very active but at least nobody seems to be over invested or moralistic about everything. It's definitely more light hearted 😄

During my brief tenure over there I did get PM chatting to a woman who had the notion that birds should have their own police force!

Yes, that's right. Police force!

She said that if a bird ever bullied, intimidated or killed another bird, then it should be arrested by other birds (presumably the Bird Police)

I tried to humour her without taking the piss because I didn't know her circumstances health wise. Not that it mattered because she ended up on a ban, during which time I left the site.

I've been a member of DS on and off for about 14 years and it's completely gone down hill lately. It's just dire.

Off topic but does anyone know what happend to an old forum called Diabolik.tv? Was just thinking about it, they used to ag DS off a lot there.

I think he used to PM me as well, long diatribes about how dreadful his life was, he was unemployed, a problem drinker, still lived with dad, felt the world owed him something and was terribly jealous of anyone who appeared to have a reasonable lifestyle. I got bored in the end and stopped answering.

A user on the Dancing on Ice forum claims that they are refusing to go to hospital due to fear of the virus while they have a suspected broken foot.

I may be in a minority (I don't know your opinions on COVID management & NHS) but that's surely crazy? Pretty worrying that someone wouldn't get checked out if they had a proper injury.

Maybe they're just attention-seeking. A broken foot is so painful. A&E have separate entrances for covid patients and those with other health problems.

Probably drowning in the tit and stench that the average cesspit exists in.

I just popped on to read what people thought of the new series of The Bay, sometimes there's decent enough insights on the TV Shows UK forum and I've never found anywhere with certain shows bing discussed.

WTF is going on, nothing on the latest page (49) is even really about the show? It's like it's a big joke between long-time members and if you aren't one of them go away?

One of the reasons I dislike Digital Spy.

It's just so unfunny as well

Yes! Thanks to netflix and britbox I'm finding some shows I'd not watched at the time they aired and quite liked them (back to life being one with daisy haggard) so googling them brings up digital spy threads. More often than not after the first page it all turns into one 'lol clique' and the threads don't even make sense, nor are they about the show in question

And then you get posts on there (although probably the same on Twitter, on here, and anything online really) with people asking questions and getting confused and I think “Just WATCH it instead of looking at your phone and posting stupid jokes and maybe you’d have the answer to your very basic question”

DTV went under a few years ago, I'm not sure exactly when. It was a nasty little clique of banned DS posters slagging off anyone and anything for the most part. Sleeping Dogs has taken up the baton by all accounts now. I remember being directed to DTV when one of its members had had a lot of personal messages exchanged with another poster, on yet another sad little forum, made public. It was some mind-boggling amateur sexting so why they didn't take it off the board and use phones I have no idea. Still funny to read though :D

Hi everyone, its Justmadeit here, I've just joined this forum. Im a long time member of digital spy (17 years) same name on there (Justmadeit) and am currently coming to the end of a 4 week ban. What did I do wrong? I posted a YouTube link to a New Zealand doctor, Dr Sam Bailey who was discussing pcr testing accuracy regarding covid 19, and I'd previously posted another video titled 10 facts about covid which was pointed out contained incorrect data, fair enough. However, these weren't extreme David icke/Alex Jones type fear mongering links, merely different opinions on data and lockdowns etc, I mean heck, even government advisors get things wrong....anyway I assume I got reported by a member hence the 4 week ban. Its heretical to post anything that's not on the BBC or Sky news it seems, however reasonable you may think it is.

I don't remember the moderation being as strict years ago on there.

Anyway, i'm hoping to be back on there on Thursday when the ban should he lifted, though I must proceed with caution! :D I mainly go on the General discussion board or occasionally in Advice, Radio, plus computer/phone board for queries. I have gone through periods in the past of not logging in for over a year at a time and other times going on there a lot.

Anyway, greetings 🤚
