That’s what I have an issue with. Obviously all forums need moderation otherwise it would be a free for all, it’s the faceless aspect of it. Why the secrecy? And more to the point how do you even get chosen to be a mod there?
They advertised for it on a thread. I’ll try and find it later.
Okay, so the post has been deleted now but I grabbed some of it:
Hearst UK's largest digital brand Digital Spy is looking for a Freelance Weekend Content Moderator to help manage the bustling DS Forums, which is one of the biggest and busiest internet discussion forums in the world.
This is a paid freelance position, covering 12 hours a week over Saturday and Sunday with potential for additional hours, reporting in to the Forums Moderator and site Chief Sub Editor to ensure user sign-ups are authorised, user-generated content is moderated to an acceptable quality and all users are safe, sound and enjoying the forums.
Within the role,
the successful applicant will be responsible for investigating and actioning any user reports, resolving customer service issues and working to deliver community standards and customer service targets.
I too think Taglet is a moderator. Too many times I saw a thread get culled and closed with people being banned right after she rocked up in it. It happened too many times for it to be a coincindence.
While looking for the above, I found this thread:
https://forums.digitalspy.com/discu...ma-public-television-bans-gay-wedding-episode
On page 2, Taglet posts on it. Looks like some pruning may have occurred because the next post after hers was from a user called Dean something who observed:
"....what's the point in even discussing articles like this when the Mods feel fit to delete half the posts in this thread????
¯\_

|)_/¯ "
Dean only got to make one more post on another thread and then...account BANNED!
Like you said, it happens too many times for it to be coincidental.
