I've just got a permanent ban after being a member for nearly 15 years after a brief exchange with the charming BanglaRoad on the TalkRADIO thread - apparently it's trolling, being unconstructive and derailing a thread to point out that people have different opinions and you can only make an informed one yourself by hearing different points of views. That apparently is a ban worthy offence while telling someone to duck off because you don't agree with them is perfectly acceptable. Ridiculous but unsurprising. The mods always ban the wrong people.
I see Sport1 and Scottie2121 are still active, how they escaped a ban is beyond me, even after they stalked me for months and DS did duck all about it.
I don't know how DS keep getting away with it and why they would want to go to the trouble of banning long-standing members for some jumped up, made up offence while letting idiots rule the roost - are the mods scared of these morons or are these morons mods? You do have to wonder! Do the mods or even Heast not have anyone to answer to or can they really just do as they please?
The morons are the mods. Edit: To clarify, I mean some of the posters are mods themselves.

I was just intrigued because I’d noticed there hadn’t seem to be any bannings on DS for a while and then saw your post about being a long time poster who was banned, and someone else has since replied saying they were banned too. I looked at the profile of the person who I suspect is a mod and they were last active today (prior to that, they were last active in October which made sense as to why the ban hammer had stopped hammering down so hard the last few months)
But the profile says they were last seen at 08:16 so the timing is just over 12 hours off (unless it takes 12 hours from the time of the ban to the time you get an email about it)
They do seem to have been ban happy today, there's three that I know of. Can you name who you think is a mod or pm me who you think it is? I can’t PM you, I think you need a certain amount of posts before you can send or receive them. My guess was Taglet, is that the same as your guess? If not, what was yours?
I mostly lurk on DS now... I only reply to threads that ask a question, or if I give my opinion on something without expecting a reply.
All the private jokes and casual conversations in the threads make me cringe! I remember trying to contribute once, but got ignored.
I hate the Strictly spoiler thread where they talk about random stuff whilst they're waiting for the spoiler.
Some of them seem to go into hysterics about inane things, such as eating a family sized bar of Cadbury's to themselves.
There is another forum called Walford Web, which is an EastEnders forum. Wow, that is even more cliquey than DS or Mumsnet. All my posts get ignored or shot down. I've noticed there is only a couple of other posters who will interact with me/'like' my posts. I mostly lurk on there now, too.....

Taglet doesn't ring a bell to me, I don't know of that poster. The conversation that was quoted by the mods as the reason for my ban was with BanglaRoad.

They don't bother me over there. But some people could have nasty palpitations if they don't arrive wearing body armour and take strong anti depressants.
Sadly there's a few like that who think they own the place. If you ever wanted to see a case of the lunatics taking over the asylum, the Politics forum would be a good place to start.
Yep, it's the Politics Forum that I found unbelievable. I once took Bangla to task but did it via a PM, and then he stopped hounding me. They just don't leave some people alone and ask where people have gone!
