I haven’t been on DS for years, I do remember a mammoth John James and Josie thread where their mega fans would fawn over them! But then seemed to just become really good friends themselves which was quite sweet, I hope they’re all still friends now.

Here is a perfect example of the method of attack on the politics forum.... poor chap who even voted remain chucks in a tiny bit of criticism for the way remainers have behaved.... and watch them round on him like a pack of wolves. They even flagged him to the mods in the thread. Surprised the poor bloke hasn’t been banned yet.... 😲

What a vile horrible place that is.

Unfortunately the majority on the Politics forum are blind to their own fascism and bigotry.

Another DS refugee here (from the LBC thread). Banned for life after 17 years, for expressing opinions that didn't please the mob of potty-mouthed bullies who rule the thread now.

They're happy in their echo chamber. There's about 5 posters left on there that post regularly.

He is a Grade A incel CUNT. Don't dare diss dimwit Helen Flanagan or husband beating Kelly Brook because he will charge in as a white knight to defend his idols. By his own admission he is morbidly obese and unemployed. He is FIRMLY on ignore.
You forgot Cheryl Cole. I still remember his legendary argument to me in defence of her:

"She can sing....just not very well"

Fucking idiot 🤣

He's awful and so is scottie2121 who only ever seems to post to sneer at other forum members. He has never, not once, contributed anything that could bring some positivty to anyone or anything.

I'd pity these people if they weren't so awful to be around.
Yeah, HIM, Scottie2121, always comes into my threads and trashes them, he is "untouchable" and I swear he has a sock (Sport1).

It says a lot when people want the country they live in themselves to not only fail, but fail big time so they can log onto DS and said “well, I told you so”. It’s at a point where if we had a really shitty summer this year like 2007 where it constantly rained every day, the response would be “well this is what you voted for”. Sad.

OMG I use to post on there but it become so unsavoury especially the soaps forum, I use to get unsolicited messages from a weirdo on there, never again.

I was on this website years ago, in hindsight when I was too young for it, I used to lurk on the 'adverts you hate' thread (it was the only thread I ever read on there, I was such an odd child haha) I posted a few times but someone pulled me up on misremembering an actor in an advert (I think I used the term 'what's his face'), and got snottily told who he was and basically talked down to because I had mistaken him! Ridiculously minor and yes I appreciate I wasn't the target audience/age but looking back now it just seems such a hostile/unwelcoming reaction!

I fell back onto DS briefly, can't remember how but someone brought up sam, a prolific member of DS with autism who used to get very very hostile and angry with posters, he hops from forum to forum getting into arguments and demanding he get a girlfriend (and that DS unban him; I found it both scary and saddening to read because it was obvious some posters goaded him) - but I didn't like the atmosphere on DS in general so never stuck around.
Samthefootball gets everywhere. I think he's been banned from pretty much every forum, including Mumsnet :D :D where he turned up calling the moderators a bunch of cunts and whining about how he can't get a job, drive a car or get a girlfriend, whereas his stepbrother can. I think he has deep seated issues which will never be resolved unless he takes proactive steps to address them in real life.

Wow! I guess there are ways to circumvent this if you have the desire and energy to do so but they're becoming increasingly draconian (not to mention inconsistent) so maybe it's not worth it.

They probably know if you login to a new account on a phone that you used previously to login to your old account? I only have phone internet/data after cancelling my broadband a year or so ago, so i use my phone to go online.

If the mods had taken 5 minutes to weigh up my 17 years of posting and thread history they'd never have banned me in the first place. My spat with a few touchy forum members regarding questioning some elements of the corona virus situation, the data, pcr test reliability and how the whole situation has been handled, got me reported and banned for 4 weeks. Just to reiterate, the perma ban I brought on myself by being impatient and setting up an account on an email they recognised, or do they know what phone you log in on, maybe its that ?

I should have sat out the temporary ban for 4 weeks! Doh

Its a decent forum, I do miss it.

Definitely! I wouldn’t bother posting there as I would be ignored because I don’t have an unhealthy obsession with male rape storylines and getting two straight male characters together because the posters fantasise about them 🙄🙄
They have a ds forum award ceremony every year and it’s beyond cringe. “Sexiest poster” and all this shit. Absolutely mortified for them
Personally I don't like rape story lines (which ever sex they involve) because they are always depressing and I don't find it entertaining.

They do endless polls on stupid stuff too and the dullest characters are always the most popular!
I just came to the conclusion that it wasn't worth contributing there and I really don't miss it as I didn't like any of the other posters 😃

Sadly there's a few like that who think they own the place. If you ever wanted to see a case of the lunatics taking over the asylum, the Politics forum would be a good place to start.
Yep, it's the Politics Forum that I found unbelievable. I once took Bangla to task but did it via a PM, and then he stopped hounding me. They just don't leave some people alone and ask where people have gone!

I fully agree. I blame the inconsistent moderation in recent years on DS as to why more former posters from there have now moved to here. Not just those who have been banned without any decent rhyme or reason, also those who are starting to realise the whole forum is no longer what they once knew and liked posting on.
Maybe somebody (thanks, PtD !), might like to round up all the comments about DS moderation and send it (anonymously) to the moderators!

Yes it does. I’ll use the notorious Tanya as an example:

Tanya has 105 discussions. But if you delve further through her profile (by clicking “more discussions”) you will see she has only started one discussion (aka thread). Which means 104 of those “discussions” are actually reports on other users posts.
Aargh, by jove I've got it - that means I lied about reporting 2 posts, it was actually 10 in 14 years so worse than I thought but not bad considering. I've never understood the reporting thing unless it was for something really bad like the post that was made about Lucy earlier but was quickly changed. Surely it's easier just to ignore the post or poster rather than getting a blistered finger from pressing the report button so often - in life there will be things you don't like, get over it and move on. It's kind of sad if you feel the need to keep doing it - maybe a discussion forum isn't the place for people like that, an appreciation site would be better.

They're my picks too, although I've never crossed swords with walterwhite. The other 4 are toxic.

Moanylisa reported me for saying she was a nasty piece of work after she posted (yet again) about gammons being slightly green, slimy and smelly and then laughing like a drain. Foul person.
Moanylisa should get together with Banglaroad and live in eternal gammon ecstasy.

If you’re not a Corbin loving, remain voting, Tory hating FM then you won’t survive long on there these days.
That's so true and you don't have to reveal your political leanings for the most rabid to assume that they know which way you've voted, and to claim it as the truth, while wetting themselves with excitement because they think they've found another victim to prey on because the forum is so short of posters with different views. As has been said before, the Politics is page after page of agreement and boring as hell apart from a couple of posters who dare to disagree and still manage to not get banned.

:love:Hello fellow DS'ers, I am The Prumeister. Apologies in advance for anyone I have pissed off/upset/'spatted' with. I have been a member since 2004 and in the early days it was a fucking scream, then DSU was created and I had massive fall outs with all of them (can't believe it's still going tbh) and now it's just mediocre, butt clenching drivel on the whole (DS that is). I agree with the general consensus on Whedonite - no woman can ever be criticised. Veri is like Rumpole of the fucking Bailey and I remember a couple of jokers - AOTB and ChipDouglas82 who rode in on their white knight chargers sticking up for big titted 'stunners' like Danielle Lloyd et al. I still post on there but in a very half arsed way.
Awwwww I used to always love your posts Prue (some of us called you) straight up with the truth! 👍

Hi all, I heard this place mentioned over on the dogs forum and thought I'd check it out. You might recognise my username from DS. Looking forward to joining in with the community.
AH, I know that username, welcome, sadly I can't tell you who I am but I promise you will not be going back to DS that's for sure.

During my brief tenure on DS I noticed in the Chatter forum pages and pages of mind-numbing games/word puzzle threads. And that some members would spend nearly all morning posting to each one, but without venturing out beyond that.

Now of course, if that's what they want to do then fine. All harmless fun. But blimey when I saw some of them brag about having 250k posts over a period of 10+ years, you do have to think was it time well spent? 🤪
I only went in there once as it was mentioned on another section of DS (Streisand effect) how they were coming up to a “milestone” in a counting thread and outsiders (LOL!) were coming in and trying to steal the coveted milestone post. Proper epic tantrums were thrown. It was hilarious 😂
