Hardly surprising which subsections have been pruned. Politics has been a toxic wasteland for years. Debate requires plurality of opinion, and that hasn’t existed on DS politics in a long time. It’s a pity Godwin’s Law has fallen into disrepute because one or two posters on DS have real trouble distinguishing between the British Conservative Party and The Nazi’s. And if this is done in an ironic sense the irony is well disguised.
GD has also recently become something of a game of Offence Taken top trumps. Who gets banned seems to depend on who pushes alert first. Never really visited showbiz so can’t really comment.

There should be a Temporary member facility/probation period on here so that any trouble makers are easily deleted
There was a rumour last week that Tracy Ann Oberman and Rachel Riles had complained to hearst about the anti semitic cesspit that is politics. I wonder if that had anything to do with this decision. If so its been the Corbyn supporters that killed the site. Everything they touch turns to tit.

Another DS refugee here! Shame to see the end of a very long era at DS, but then again the decline has been evident for some time and was/is clearly beyond repair. Biggest shock for me was when the moderators supported blatantly racist comments made towards me, by banning ME for two weeks. They can stick their forum and their ban-hammers up their asses.
Did they use their famous, you are "downplaying racism" excuse
No matter who offends you , if you get into any discussion that raises any points for discussion that's the excuse they use to throw a ban
He or she will be here via one name or another but I don't think the Tattle mods or members will put up with the nonsense and personal attacks on other members. I think TL will see a growth in members shifting from DS here in the very near future...mark my words.
I don't think DS had much choice other than shut down some sections but I am surprised they are leaving so much up to read as archives...they'll have to go sooner rather than later. Maybe its a case of leaving them their to allow angry members time to cool down and ween off the hate.
I do like how some users are telling Hearst it doesn't make commercial sense and talking about polls

Yes, I had a bunch of alerts from several threads some months ago. The mods allow/support racist insults directed at forum members as long as the insult-er is a self-labelled left winger. It gives them license to say what they want. Some chap called BanglaRoad, for example, plus others. Yet I’m the racist, apparently.
