About 2/3 years ago I used to look on DS Forums only on Sundays to read the Liz Jones thread after her MoS column was published. But I noticed that there was a poster who every Sunday used to do little spoof Liz J columns and I admit I didn't read them as that sort of p take had been done to death and I found them boring. Anyway, one Sunday about 2 or 3 posters none of whom I recognised as being on the LJ thread really laid into her.it was horrible. They instructed her to stop doing the little spoofs and were just vile. If I'd been a member I would have muscled in and defended her but a very few did while others jumped on band wagon.. The ones that started the attack didn't return to the thread after upsetting her, nor did she, she was obviously hurt and said she was sorry her posts had angered people and wouldn't post again. Then she died a few weeks later. It made me feel really sad that her little bit of enjoyment was ruined by typical DS people and I was sickened and I never went back to DS since.i used to think she probably looked forward to her Sundays on that thread and they made her leave it.

A real annoyance about Digital Spy is that it takes a while for a thread to get going. A new thread which sounds quite interesting will normally go like this -

I don't know this poster, but I agree with certain posters being untouchable. It seems to be widespread on DS now, not just contained to a few threads. Again this makes me think that many mods are also active DS FMs who protect their own and ban those who dare to question them and are not part of their inner circle.

I don't believe some posters are also mods but I do think that some posters flag things up just for the sake of it. I had to laugh when I was posting on the TV forum thread about Wolf Hall and mentioned that Anne Boleyn was eventually beheaded. The post was removed and I got a warning from the mods about posting spoilers!!

Why are people buying POT NOODLES????!!! These are NOT and I repeat NOT ESSENTIAL ITEMS and we should only be leaving our homes for ESSENTIAL journeys!!!!! COVID is STILL out there and it is spreading and mutating rapidly and if we don't follow the RULES we will ALL DIE!!!! (P+3)

Or if you are SierraMist: Please provide a link to the source where you CLAIM these items are not essential or please don't post unproven theories, in the meantime I have put together some graphs and charts to show whether pot noodle are essential items which I will publish when I have proof read them and admired my own genius.

I also have been researching the effects of pot noodle on the covid cases and have concluded that if people persist in eating pot noodles the new cases could plateau at 20,000 though it is 50/50 whether they will.

I have been right on every occassion so far and my posts prove this so please do not challenge my evidence on pot noodles and covid cases.

It's their own fault for letting it get into such a state. It's way more of a liability than an asset for Hearst so they ignored it until the best way to deal with it was close those forums.

I wonder if all the oddballs on DS will end up coming here?

They won't last long if they do.

It's quite amusing to see James2001 slagging off people who go on other forums slagging off people on DS forums - irony is obviously not his strong point! I suppose it makes a change from his usual contribution to any thread which is ' they knew what they were votong for!'

I do like how some users are telling Hearst it doesn't make commercial sense and talking about polls . Hearst are actually in possession of all of the information and it was probably a very obvious decision to make. They've announced it now without asking people, so they're hardly going to care about what people think!

Hi everyone , first post on a new forum

i thought i would join so i can agree with everyone about DS, the forum is appalling, the FM's bully people on certain threads and the mods do nothing, well i will never return, ive asked the mods to deactivate my account

I have a list of FM's i think are a huge problem on DS

WHEDONIT being the number 1 worst FM i have ever had the displeasure of seeing on a forum

However there were one or two names have appeared on the Classic corrie thread, one turned up in March or April last year and completely went to town with disgusting posts, baiting etc... at least 4 members were banned for 1 or 2 weeks with one banned permanently, the people banned were baited and manipulated by mods into receiving the bans, it was the most appalling abuse of power i have seen in the 10 years i was a member

Last month a new FM popped up on the classic corrie thread and did exactly the same, was abusive, baited people which lead to one FM to be banned who i think is a very nice person, the mods had no right to do this especially when the person in the wrong was back within a few days

I have strong suspicions one of them had to be a mod, it was too convenient that they could break every rule going , get people banned for nothing and still not be banned.

You only have to read the trustpilot reviews on DS forums to know there are hundreds more people the mods have treated appallingly

Ds has always been an odd place, but mods were always decent enough to hear you out and not ban you, and some of the threads were very friendly and entertaining, something changed within the last 2 years though i'm pretty sure the whole mods were replaced and "wokism" became their new thing , sadly now the likes of WHEDONIT can use any abuse she wants, but only has to twist one word of someones post and she is off to the mods, they are so scared of wokism that they comply, ive had enough of people like WHEDONIT manipulating real world problems such as racism etc.. for her own gain.
I dont really care what she posts it doesnt interest me but she is the vilest FM on DS (although you have mentioned others on my list on this thread )

I only spent a few weeks on DS in the past and never interacted but found myself getting upset over how users can treat others. They think it’s alright to pile on the abuse just because they’re behind a screen and have the anonymity of it all. Yet forget there’s someone also behind that screen with feelings and emotions who could just be happy to be interacting with someone.

I also find people over there to be far too cliquey. I know here has their own little groups but most of the time they will accept someone with open arms and interact with their posts with interest rather than ignoring it and just being distasteful and rude. A lot of users wouldn’t allow the bullying and harassment some DS users are subjected to happen here and would intervene and defend them.

For a place that is called the “Bitchiest corner of the Internet” it sure is a lot more pleasant than the majority of the Internet.

God Landis is reaching peak insuffrability in the Shamima Begum thread. Even resorting to the meaningless, “what if it was your daughter” argument. Well if she was my daughter one of the first questions I would ask myself was what went so badly astray with my parenting that she would think that moving to a violent theocratic gang would be a viable life choice. I was an unapologetic knobber at 15, but even I would have known that was a bloody stupid idea.
