Late to this. I used to lurk on DS in the C4 BB days. I would also go over to the soap forum when and one poster that I remember was Mo Mouse? I seem to remember they were always getting banned. I got fed up of reading DS though because some of the posters were just too odd and obsessive over certain views.

in relation to the Dippy Di/MD stuff, I have had a look through and they are definitely the same person. How bizarre to pretend you are dead. Then log on pretending to be your brother and girlfriend. MD was obsessed with rum and raisin and wearing nix!

One poster who I remember was koantemplation. He had Aspergers and if I remember he had basically been unemployed for his entire life. He used to start threads that ran for pages where he would just repeat the same point over and over again. He used to drive other posters up the wall. Then just disappeared. No great loss as such, but to be drawn into on of his circular threads was a rite of passage for an unsuspecting newbie.

Does anybody remember the female poster who had a kid with a Muslim bloke? From what I remember, she was being abused or something?

I think her Myspace was found through her profile at one point?

Its true that under data protection law no website is allowed to keep any information that may identify you on their servers. You can request this info to be removed and they have to, by law, comply. So the problem here is that once banned DS now ban your email from contacting them... which again is a law break. You have to be able to request any info they hold on you to be removed.

If someone made a big deal of this Hearst would be in trouble.

Mr freeze before his name change, he didn't just vanish he got banned. He was baited once too often and blew. I'm pretty sure he was the one who started the live update thread in the BB.

Em? He ( the BF) went to prison if I remember rightly.

It is rather pathetic of DS that one thing they aren't prepared to do is backup their moderation decisions by allowing the right to reply. This is a sure sign that they are aware that many decisions are arbitrary and not at all based on their own T&Cs.

It does'nt help that the moderation is completely faceless. Unlike on other forums where the mods/Admins are marked as being those rolls.

Everyone I need to post a hazard notice:

If anyone is passing through the politics forum and enters the EU AZ vaccine thread please look out for high levels of tumbleweed from lack of pro EU posters using this thread. The tumbleweed is so big it could cause injury. Thank you.

Just realising that the showbiz forum I used to love was full of inane balls that was no longer of any interest.

The Prumeister
I remember your username and posts! I chucked it for the same reason as you. Showbiz was excellent back in the day.

Yes I remember this poster. I used to see them a lot on the TV forums, particularly when there were programmes about benefits or local authority council housing departments. Sometimes the posts would start off quite reasoned, sensible even before going down hill.

Koantemplation used to write lengthy posts about his idea for everyone to receive the same amount of money weekly, regardless of whether they worked or not. All the wages would go into one gigantic pot and be shared out equally. So a consultant surgeon and an unemployed muggy would each get 150 quid per week. He'd thought it all out and it made absolutely no sense at all. But he was convinced it was a grand plan.

On the sleeping dogs thread someone has claimed Tracey Ann Oberman and Rachel Riley have reported Digital Spy to the ECHR and on the Steve Allen thread there are claims they have sent a report of Steve Allen to Ofcom.

Let's see if anything comes of any of these.
I wouldn't pay much heed to what's said on Sleeping Dogs. They're mainly a bunch of sad right-wingers, butthurt from being banned from DS. Out of the thousands of posters on DS, they're only obsessed with just a couple and practically stalk them. They claim to hate the site but are always trying to join it and have made up numerous conspiracy type theories about how DS is able to block them. The thing is that if you read some of the Dog's users posts, you can clearly see why get banned from a place like DS: They're clearly not very nice people.

You get some good and some bad there. Just like DS, just like here (I'd imagine, I haven't been here that long).

One can give another example. Two brothers were left a equal large amount of money in their father's will. One of them, saves and invests the money, buying an odd treat but nothing extravagant. The other spends the money in the pub, gambling, buying expensive items for no good purpose. He is left penniless in the end. Which one will the State help with benefits?

What happened to Pumping Iron on DS?

I remember him from around 6 or 7 years ago and after seeing him mentioned elsewhere I saw that was banned around 2 years ago.
