Walter White is a nightmare. He was one of the doom and gloom team during Covid who wouldn't let anyone even dare have hope. Those Covid threads were crazy. Posters trying to out doom each other and getting excited and celebrating when there were high deaths because it proved their point was right. I think if it was up to some of them, we would still be in lockdown now.

Was he the one who said COVID was a sentient being?

Does anyone remember Mormongirl?

JB is an odd one... had a thing for Lauren from EastEnders and called her "My Lauren".

I remember those two and that J-B used to call Mormongirl 'Morms', to her annoyance. Did Mormongirl ever post outside of the Soaps forum? She had autism and was rather fixated on Jo Joyner, who played Tanya Branning in Eastenders, and also wanting to know what everyone thought about particular Eastenders child actors.

There are a lot of misogynistic incel types on DS. Always has been. Mactowin was one of the worst, I don’t think he’s returned to the Strictly forum since he had a tantrum in 2013 for being called out over it. Silly bastard

I don't even know what AVF is I've only posted on DS and now here. I don't even remember what made me stop posting on DS, I definitely didn't get banned though!

AVF is avforums.com a really good review site and discussion forum for hifi and home cinema stuff

It has a politics section, which is why a lot of DS people migrated there after DS closed their politics section. They were welcomed by the site owner because he wanted more women on the site, naturally hifi stuff is a male hobby.

AVF politics section is just another left wing echo chamber with terrible mods despite the owners insistence they welcome both sides of the political spectrum. That's just him gas lighting

I'm still convinced Tanya was/is secretly a moderator. Never seen one person be able to wield so much power over an online community before.

Article in the Mail yesterday Re Will Young taken from Digital Spy. ...... I went out with my Mum and met Will Young and he is not what you think he will be like etc etc, he was rude and all the rest of it. Then she went on to say this was in 2008. That is nearlly 20 years ago so why does she want to bring it up with the DM now - leading up to something else. ?

There have been a few odd stories about Will Young over the years.

The Strictly fiasco was really strange even if you account for his mental health issues.

There was an incident of homophobic abuse from a bus driver but I don't think we ever had a conculsion to the story, just Will wanting to 'track him down' and an apology from TfL.

He's overshared a lot too... we really, really, really didn't need to know you'd wank off porn mags in train toilets as you struggled with your sexuality, Will. Save it for a support group.

Another AVF classic from someone clearly suffering from acute Trump Derangement Syndrome, following news about Trump's state visit to UK in September. It's been posted in the New Labour Government thread, so I assume the member must be banned from the Trump threads....

The moderation was always very unfair and had no logic. I think a lot of it depended on how many reports they had about a post/poster, but the problem with that was it was often abused by people who had a grudge against someone and the mods weren’t always objective about it.

There were always favourite/protected forums members the mods let get away with anything, it really spoiled the forums.

One of my favourite DS fantasist was Keio something who ran a cat sanctuary with a blind and deaf receptionist

They also posted about how there was a DS meet up to the Eden Project where someone stole something, and how someone wrapped a cat up for Christmas and posted it (inspired by the cute video online where someone puts some wrapping paper on a cat).

I will always remember Sierra Mist. He was originally HR Guru and branded himself as a Brexit "expert" with all sorts of inside information which was always wrong. He embarrassed himself too many times and got a name change to Sierra Mist and rebranded himself as a Covid "expert" with graphs which nobody really understood, a terrible doom and gloom attitude to it all and again predictions which would never come true. He would disappear when things started to improve but would be back in heartbeat if they went the other way.

He was another one who had a second account, I can't remember what the name was, but this account would appear when Mist was getting a hard time and back him up in arguments. Someone who used to post on the old DS threads here spotted it when Mist replied in his usual style, but on the second account. He quickly edited it and sorted it and I'm sure the poster that noticed it got banned for speaking about it. Mist later spat the dummy out and got his account deleted when General Discussion closed.

He posted a lot on the Sleeping Dogs forum and was Billy big bollix for a while but the posters in there were like sharks in a tank From what I remember he was a landlord of some description and they named him Rigsby. He kept saying the ladies he paid really enjoyed it.

I remember Anne 666 who was very vocal until her last post where she went into a lot of detail about a traumatic event and never posted again. I kinda liked her.

I do wonder what happened to her. Part of me thinks she may have died. But obviously you can't tell just from someone stopping posting on a forum.
