Ah….if it’s a year away and you’re saving up for it, why not get the YSL bag?! I wish I had had your good taste in bags when I was 20/21!!!

Hello my fellow enablers Just looking for some advice. I’m looking for a thin/skinny belt to wear mainly with dresses (I’m quite petite so thinking a thin belt might work best for cinching in my waist). I’m considering the Hermes Focus 13mm belt in the pic for €440 (reversible also). What do people think or do you have any other recommendations?

Really showing my lack of designer knowledge here but does anyone know why this is a lot more affordable than other YSL clutches? I thought it was going to be more wallet sized but it actually looks like a decent size for a night out. Seems to be big enough to fit an iPhone, card holder and keys. I’m a bit suspicious that it seems too good to be true

Tell us more if you can? I’ve always wondered what the warehouses of high end online retailers look like! Are they the same as BooHoo type places where everything is stacked in boxes ready to be picked? How are garments stored? And the security must be tighter? Genuinely interested x

I'm not the person you quoted but I used to work for Harrods in the handbag department as a part time sales assistant. I was in the room that stocked Prada, Miu Miu, Bottega, Marc Jacobs, and a few others.
The stockroom was a sort of organised mess. It was a bit of a nightmare working there as the stock room was far away, so if we had to get a brand new product then it would take about 10-15 mins (jogging there and back in heels). If I remember correctly the bags were just placed in dust bags and then plastic bags with labels on them. I remember having to climb up and down the step ladder to find something. I assume all warehouses look the same.

My 2023 wishlist consists of:

kelly 25 sellier noir with gold hardware
A new pair of loro pianas as they’re the most comfortable shoe ever
A birkin in a dark shade of grey - 25 or 30 and gold hardware
A nice coat/cardigan for spring/summer when it’s too hot for something thick but too cold to not wear anythting
Some timeless jewellery
and a body that makes me feel confident.

I don’t think the birkin, Kelly or the body will happen so that cuts down my list

i had this feeling up until recently. try and put yourself into this mindset where “things are meant to be used; if it breaks or I lose it, there’s a lot more of (product) in this world which I can buy again”. I used to have a binge eating disorder (I’d always finish all of my food no matter what) and convincing myself that If I couldn’t finish the food, there’d always be another opportunity to have the same later. I’ve tried to apply this same logic to everything. what also helps is viewing the product as what it is- for example look at a Dior perfume the same way you’d see a cheaper perfume, after all it’s just a perfume to be used.

I have my bags/watches etc insured away from the home via my home insurance, if the worst happens like it’s gets stolen etc, I can just claim for it.
The feeling of walking about with a bag you’ve worked hard and paid for is amazing compared to looking at them on a shelf

This is all really interesting, I recently saw the Tik Toks of them buying a plane and all the brand new cars. Do we think that’s all completely fake? The first time I heard of them was when I saw an instagram reel of the little girl with her mini Kelly!

Any of you guys been to Love Luxury in Knightsbridge? They’re all over tiktok I wanna pop in the store!

this company baffles me. The owner’s wife/Co-owner joined all the handbag fb groups about 18 months ago and used to ask for help with basic knowledge. They’ve come a long way since and had a huge branding overhaul in the process. They went from having loads of fake followers to clearing up their social media and starting again. They went viral on TikTok and now have a genuine following. The owner has disappeared from the fb groups now too. It all felt a bit fake it until you make it although none of their goods were fake.

Also I just looked back and found that everything prior to this has been deleted They were previously known as ‘prestige buyers’. They’ve both locked down their social media but Adam does have a public post that refers to ‘before locking’ so perhaps the drug dealer theory has some truth to it. Who knows?!

What does Revitalash do? or claim to do?

Amazing on lashes, don’t know anyone it hasn’t worked for. Apparently it was derived from medication for chemo patients who had lost their lashes. It really is worth the dosh. I got mine at 25% off though

Edited to add - just gone to Cult Beauty and it’s a whole lot cheaper! £97 full price on CB but £129 on the Revitalash website! I’m sending mine back! £30 saving thanks @Its_Me

it’ll be it interesting to hear if people have bought from them. According to their FAQ you need to show 2 forms of ID to purchase. And I find their online return policy a bit odd - only 48 hours to decide you want to return.

Agreed! But tbh I only follow them to see their watch and bag content, I'm not really interested in them as people but I do wish they’d stop posting that kid 24/7.
Interestingly, someone in the comments posted that he was a drug dealer previously. Obviously they got their comments removed but I thought that was interesting.

I was also intrigued to see if anyone had purchased from them because I too read that on the FAQs and I thought it was odd as well.

I remember getting my first designer sunnies, picked D&G ones in Brown Thomas here in Ireland. The sales assistant flung them into a bag. I said emm sorry is there not a little cleaning cloth or something to accompany them. She turned around to me and said God you already wear glasses I'm sure you have something at home, I was shocked

Sometimes I’m in Uniqlo head to toe with a designer bag and people always say that I look expensive. Most people mix high end and designer stuff and it always looks so good. I prefer it to the everything designer because then it’s too much going on. Wear what makes you happy!

I know this probably sounds silly… but how do you get over the fear of keeping things for best. I cannot fathom to use some of my stuff. It is an irrational fear but I just don’t know how to break it.

I am the same like yourself. I think it’s because I never had such luxuries as a child/teen.
Do you feel guilty to have luxuries ? I do.
Once I use my items I put them back in their original packaging and box. If I loose the tissue paper I have a panic attack.

I think we need to retrain our minds and be like @Dilly2022. Carefree. Our items are there to be used.
I feel inspired today.

You didn't hear it from.me, but most designers do their price increases before black Friday, with all the promotions going on, they hope that nobody will notice the increase

Regards Marc Jacobs bags, I've said it before but, whilst not "high" high end, my little pale grey MJ crossbody is such a useful bag and is beautifully made. I use it as my gig bag and its had quite a few heavy nights (including one involving ink from a smeared hand stamp ) and still looks great. Not that any of you need any encouragement but I would thoroughly recommend

the way it happened was so funny too there was a row spare on the plane and I waited till everyone boarded and we were ascending and I RAN to it so I could stretch out over 3 seats and have a nap. But another girl was eyeing up the row too so I made sure I legged it before her when I sat down she was giving me evils and I was like too slow luv, then there was some turbulence and she stared and I thought she whispered “I’ll get you” I was fucking terrified to nap after that, but turns out she said “your drink spilled” or something ah memories

If you do eventually want to replace the long strap, did you know you can get off-brand ones from Etsy and Amazon and a few other websites? That Alma strap is very plain, so I think a dupe would absolutely work!

I had a few of the old Balenciaga Motorcycle bags which I sold a couple of years ago - if they were still my style I'd probably use those but what I've seen of the new Balenciaga stuff is tacky AF anyway so no great loss there.
