My SIL told me once how uncomfortable some SA's made her feel in London (can't remember which store she went into) but she just wanted to have a look. I told her to not let them make her feel "less than". They only work there. They can't afford what they're selling
Yes I don’t get it at all, you get that a lot in London. Like, I don’t mean to be rude but you’re a retail worker the same as the girl in Sainsbury’s 🤷🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️.
I was in Gucci in Sloane St the other day changing a belt and they gave me four glasses of Prosecco, great job was pished leaving 😂😂😅

Am I the only one who doesn’t like the bag 😅 I just couldn’t ever wear that colour, or pull it off!

I mean nothing says billionaire like selling your old curtains on Facebook does it?! 😂 Gotta say I’m loving all the tea though.

Re Chanel and Hermes destroying fake bags; is that legal? I’m guessing it is if they do it but if you’d bought a bag in good faith thinking it was genuine, took it for repair and then it got destroyed as a result you’d be bloody devastated!

I use all my luxury items as much as possible. My Goyard is my everyday bag and gets all manor of shit chucked in it. I figure that to use something is to love it and I get so much enjoyment out of my things (shallow I know) that I couldn't bear not to use them. I really look after things (Chanel lambskin I'm looking at you even though you completely failed me!) and I NEVER put bags on the floor but if something does need repairing or replacing then that's what I'll do. As Dilly says, if you buy things that are good quality they should last.

I am the same like yourself. I think it’s because I never had such luxuries as a child/teen.
Do you feel guilty to have luxuries ? I do.
Once I use my items I put them back in their original packaging and box. If I loose the tissue paper I have a panic attack.

I think we need to retrain our minds and be like @Dilly2022. Carefree. Our items are there to be used.
I feel inspired today.
i had this feeling up until recently. try and put yourself into this mindset where “things are meant to be used; if it breaks or I lose it, there’s a lot more of (product) in this world which I can buy again”. I used to have a binge eating disorder (I’d always finish all of my food no matter what) and convincing myself that If I couldn’t finish the food, there’d always be another opportunity to have the same later. I’ve tried to apply this same logic to everything. what also helps is viewing the product as what it is- for example look at a Dior perfume the same way you’d see a cheaper perfume, after all it’s just a perfume to be used.
i Hope this helped, it’s all in the mindset and money will always come back, memories using a certain bag will never

I have my eye on an LV belt, really really want it but I have no other designer clothes/bags etc I hope to add some pieces over time

My question is am I gonna look stupid with an LV belt and a pair of zara jeans

It's not in your face it's a 20mm belt
Absolutely not. It'll be fine, if all of your outfit is designer especially with obvious logos on it, it looks so tacky and cheap in my opinion. There is definitely nothing wrong with mixing high end with high street.

I wore a gorgeous sequin mini dress from Zara it was £10 in their January sales with £900 heels! It's how you style it that matters. Go for it xx

Hermes assured that the rose gold wouldn't fade and the enamel is strong but "However, as most of our products are delicate, I would recommend to avoid water, grease, heat, light and humidity".

Light. Avoid light. Is it just to be worn in a cave? A cold, dry cave? 😆
These sorts of products are made in factories in Thailand at an appallingly low cost and shipped over in plastic baggies, quality wise it’s on par with like… the Topshop jewellery stand they used to have by the tills. If you want to wear something regularly and keep it nice I’d go to a lovely independent jeweller and get something in gold or at least silver, sorry to be a Debbie downer x

Is everyone on a spending ban this thread is very quiet lol I actually realised yesterday I hadn’t bought anything myself for ages. I’ve been looking at boots but I’ve had so much going on in life I just haven’t even got round to going out and buying some!

Well! I have brought the Celine basket with me on holiday but too scared to use it! I bottled it on the plane as I was scared I’d have to shove it under the seat and I wrapped it carefully in my case. Since I’ve been here it’s stayed in my room, it’s too dangerous near the kids pool! I’ll save it for when we venture out of the hotel and adults holidays - it wasn’t made for goggles and soggy swimming trunks 😆

I am so so happy to have found this thread! Can’t wait to read through all of your posts.

I am in my 20s and almost everyone I know is just buying things on DH Gate and fakes off instagram, I hate it. I love learning about the history of fashion houses and finding vintage items as well as new season. My 2022 obsessions were Stella McCartney, Brunello Cuccinelli and Ralph Lauren. Can’t wait to learn more this year and have a few things on my wish list that I’m working towards ☺

I got the Celine beanie and I love it! But can anyone explain why I’ve dithered over the belt for months because ‘it’s expensive’ but spending the same amount on a freaking hat was no bother 🤨
