He’s proper Streisand effect-ing himself here. His name’s all over twitter. I still think he’s accused of something absolutely awful (not ‘just’ being a bit handsy) for his publisher to pull all his books.

I’m mindful of Caroline Flack, genuinely don’t want him to commit but it does feel a bit gaslighty to me. He’s at the find out stage of FAFO and he clearly doesn’t like it.

Nothing screams guilty more than threatening to kill yourself over allegations. Just another way to abuse the system and make victims more scared to speak up.

What's preventing the allegations coming out? Has he paid off the victims? I don't understand why he is above the law?

Another BBC perve alumni member?

The brass neck on these dirty old men. Whoever it is will be like Huw, Phillip and Barrymore thinking the world owes them and are completely without conscience.

What’s the Streisand effect? Presumably we’re talking barbra? What have I missed?!

She tried to suppress a picture of her house and as a result thousands more people looked at the picture of her house.

No, it was a scientific project documenting coastal erosion. Streisand’s house was included but had only been accessed a couple of times, since hardly anyone is going to be searching scientific records on coastal erosion just on the off chance it shows celeb houses. Her complaint made the photo go super viral.

Is he even that famous abroad? I can't imagine Little Britain translates well and I know his books were popular here but again not sure they have really been sold abroad.

I wonder if he is an inpatient somewhere to provide legal evidence of suicidal intent. No one seems to be managing his Instagram comments, but then he lost his publicist and team, maybe they would have done that.

That's a good shout. He may be in hospital. But he is clearly still instructing lawyers, so.....

They're also big on women's issues and my understanding is that the allegations are abuses of power against young women.
I wonder if some of the allegations are from his publisher’s staff. Apparently the younger female staff were told never to be alone with him.

Everyone seems to be focusing on the injunction itself and the fact that it is widely reported on SM that it's him - so folks are saying everyone knows it's him so why is he bothering. But for me, it seems to be a case of WHAT the Guardian and ITN are wanting to publish. Whatever it is would appear to be serious enough that he's prepared to threaten to or actually end his life to prevent publication.

People have been aware of his problematic behaviour for some time so what is in this new reporting that makes it so injunction-worthy?
