Last night I was looking at who DWs close friends seem to be, or have been....

Russel Brand supported his charity swim.....
David Furnish, David Baddiel, Rob Bryden pop up a few times. I'm just stating facts, not implying any wrong doing......

Yeah I dont really see how you can automatically assume someone else is guilty just by friendships and association. Public life is full of photo ops and professional relationships.

Also even us commoners get surprised by things we find out friends and family have done.

That said, Alan Carr having a darker side would absolutely not surprise me.

There's also a difference between knowing and "knowing" as well.

I haven't seen anyone "automatically assume" anything.

A lot of celebrity friendships seem to be artificial, or for PR. Re my post, I found it interesting re the stag party guests, it surprised me that he mingles with David Furnish for example. I just wondered how their paths crossed, and was prompting further discussion. I seem to have mentally blocked out DW for a long time and was genuinely surprised to see who he had been linked to.

As you say, someone's public appearance, isn't always the same as the one behind closed doors. We all know that from personal experiences and it's not fair to judge us for things we aren't aware of.

I wouldn't question anyone whose show DW has appeared on, as I assume they were told he had been hired as a guest, which they had no say in. I may however question anyone that chose to appear on his podcast, or socialise with him, once the rumours of inappropriate behaviour were rife within the industry. Just my opinion.

For example, it surprised me that David Baddiel was a long term friend, including recently being on DWs podcast earlier this year, after I assume rumours were rife at that point within the industry. Also, I thought I saw that DB had been a victim of the hide the sausage stage act, but I may be mistaken, or maybe he found it funny. I'm in no way implying DB or anyone else are involved in any wrong doing, but I may question recent contact with DW.

Alan Carr came off terribly in this interview, where he admits to physically attacking his husband:

"Further, he admits “there have been times” when he questioned his own drinking. There was Palm Springs when he awoke after a night of apple martinis and saw Drayton had the imprint of a flip-flop on his forehead. Carr had gone wild, he learned, attacked Drayton and ransacked their hotel room."

And also 'hilariously' shoves coriander into the mouth of someone who was allergic to it:

"There are six of us in this photo studio, including Carr’s manager, makeup, wardrobe and a publicist from ITV. He picks up the coriander and stuffs it into the mouth of the woman who said she was allergic. “See!” he declares, triumphant. “You’re not really allergic. If you were, you’d be dead by now.” He cackles. Everyone else cackles. It’s like the canned laughter of witches."

It's interesting, I've listened to French and Saunders podcast and it made me question how close they actually are. There'a bit where Dawn says, "I've been in your house" and refers to some design feature Jen has. That doesn't seem like something you'd say to a close friend? They talk about other things you'd assume they already knew about each other.

There are interviews with Mitchell and Webb where you can tell they're very distant from each other.

Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant openly admit they were never real friends.

I think celebrity friendships are often just a case of "There's always good publicity when I appear in public with that person."

Come to think of it, when did we last see Matt Lucas interact with David Walliams?

Alan Carr is like most comedians, they perform an act and otherwise are not 24/7 fun people, like normal humans. Also most famous and successful celebs especially those that want to be famous are ambitious and ruthless and not really nice (only a rare few).

Didn't Lucas and Walliams have a very big falling out and only recently 'reconciled' ?

I read the attached but still not clear why they fell out, but after 8 years they reconciled after the death of Dale Winton. They are back to talking every day apparently...

They have a podcast together. Last episode appeared in October.

It seems to say that's what started them falling out in 2005.....but then they carried on working together. Fell out again in 2007, but the Lucas was DWs best man in 2010, then the partnership dissolved in 2011.

Clear as mud.....

I wonder what the real story re the fall out is 🤔
