I'm the same. OK, I do have FB but I haven't updated it in ages because the main reason I used it was through my involvement in a couple of theatre groups, which obviously have not been active.

But I don't actually want a stranger knowing my full name or other location/activity details. On the flip side, however, I want to know theirs 😆
That’s why I don’t have my full name on there and only add on Facebook Messenger but you can still see some details.

Hey guys, came across this thread as I’m newly single. Really interested to know has anyone been on any lockdown dates i.e going for a walk etc? I’m just like is there any point being on this right now cos what if there’s potential with someone I’m chatting to but because of covid we can’t meet up and then it just fizzles, where as if we could go on dates it might actually go somewhere?! I hate dating and apps as it is, makes me question myself if someone doesn’t reply!

I matched with a guy on Hinge, good conversation that flowed for about a week and then he asked if he could add me on instagram. I was a bit like oh ok 😕 because i personally feel if a guy wants to get to know you more, just ask for your number. Anyway we added eachother on instagram and then he never replied to me 😂 so the only conclusion i’ve come up with is that he looked through my profile and didn’t like it, i dont know why because I don’t even upload much and when i do it’s with friends/on holiday. I do have a couple of pictures of my ex boyfriend from 2 years ago on there but can’t see why that would put him off. Anyway, he still follows me and watches all my stories. I just don’t get it?! It’s a constant guessing game and wondering if people will reply. But then I guess I don’t respond to everyone so i can’t expect everyone to respond to me. I’m about to hit 30 and my friends are getting engaged/ thinking about having kids and I’ve got this image of me at 40 babysitting all their kids while they go out on date night 🙈😂😫😭
Lockdown dates at the moment are awful. I had one just after the new year which ended up being a 3 hour walk in muddy fields (I didn't wear the right shoes) and half the time I couldn't talk as I was concentrating on not falling over!

If you feel you have a connection with someone then a walking date may be worth it.

I'm in the same boat as you but slightly older. I know how you feel. Things will improve and we can all get back out there and date properly!

So I’ve been talking to a guy since end of June, he’s had to move back to London for work, he was living nearer to me during lockdown, about an hour away. Anyway we get on really well, into similar things, he has a masters in engineering, does tv production now, he was ringing me and leaving voice notes, keeps asking to meet but I care for my dad with dementia so I’m slightly worried about meeting due to covid. Anyway, yesterday he messaged saying he was going to the protest at Trafalgar Square, I try and keep an open mind as I know he doesn’t agree with lockdowns, I just replied well try not to get arrested ;) anyway my gut was thinking oh god is he into extremism?!?. So I found his twitter today and he’s following a load of QAnon profiles, Donald Trump and Crypto currency profiles, it’s kinda made me feel rather uneasy. QAnon has Nazi right wing undertones. I was really hoping this guy was the end of my bad run and something to hope and look forward too. I’m 40 and he’s 38, so near my age for a change. I have a habit of attracting younger guys as I don’t look my age and they tend to want some sort of Mrs Robinson arrangement. I’ve not been called anyone’s gf since age 23, I’m not upset about being single, I’m quite independent but I would really like someone to share experiences with. I just find dating so draining sometimes and now I feel I’m back to square one.

I know quite a few people who have met at the gym! I havent though, I dont speak to anyone at the gym lol

Oh brilliant! Depends how bothered you are about covid tbh - most places are open now so its literally just dating as normal in my opinion? You will just have to book somewhere. But as I said it depends how bothered you are about covid etc. x
what about the whole 2 metres apart thing? I mean you cant do that on a date.

Me again... I need some advice. So basically I've been shit on a lot (not literally obviously) and had guys interested that have had girlfriends so I always check fb to see if they're actually single before meeting... anyway I did that with a guy, went on a few socially distanced dates with him over the last week and after today's one thought I'd send him a friend request but I'm 99% sure he's blocked me. Obviously now I'm wondering why, after today's date we made plans for tomorrow so it seemed to be going well. What do I do? I don't want to admit to looking at his profile previously but it's bugging me that he might be trying to hide something.

I assume it’s a friend/sibling to show they have friends/are sociable but I wish they wouldn’t do it. I don’t have friends in my photos and I wouldn’t want to be in my friends dating profile pics either
for sure do not look like the photos you’d have with a sibling...

So this is slightly off topic but along a similar vein.. I’m meeting up with my ex next week. Socially distanced of course and thinking of going for a coffee. First time seeing him since the break-up. Was talking to a friend about it and I think I need to do it for closure. I’m absolutely sh*tting myself and I don’t know why, this is the man I was with for 4 years. Has anyone done this? Any tips?

So I was dating someone for 6 weeks exclusively who decided he had doubts because of my career and I have a child so i
Don’t even know if I can be bothered with internet dating anymore! So fed up with it, I think I may just stick to being eternally single lol

Has anyone done a lockdown 'Skype/Zoom Date'?

I read about it in the paper, a couple who did it every week and ended up properly together, and it really intrigued me as a way to build a relationship with someone when you aren't easily able to go out and see them!
