Don’t be too jealous now but I’ve had a message from another (rural) guy saying he thinks I’m cute and it’s good I’m still in my ‘breeding years’.

Ahhhhh country life and country dating. He’s almost 20 years older than me 🤣

Does anyone else hate the question "what are your hobbies". To me that conjures up images of horseriding or archery. I'm an adult who works a lot, in my time off I like to just chill out. But I feel like that isn't the answer they're after

Had a lovely, meaningful exchange with a new Tinder match.

His opening message complimented my photos.

I thanked him and made a reference to him being a man of mystery due to his blank bio.

Him: I guess with me actions speak louder than words.

Me: Actions speaking louder than words is the rule I live by on dating apps.

His action? He unmatched me 😂

Yup, his actions most definitely did speak louder than his words 🤣

Im terrible if I get the ick or something I don’t like I’m instantly put off and never get it back again
One time I farted during sex with a guy I'd been seeing for three months and I think he got the ick and that's what ended us 😂

I feel so defeated, my date on Thursday night was just aghhhh - by the end of the night I actually felt irritated by him. He kept doing this bit where he was trying to be funny but mate no one was laughing. Our sense of humour was so different, he’s more goofy and I’m more sarcastic and dry so I was having to force laugh 😖 First dates are not meant to be feel like HARD WORK, it should’ve been light and fun and flirty but aghhhh. I was so disappointed and upset when I got home I had abit of a cry, I’ve just been on so many bad dates and it feels like I haven’t had any success with guys recently it’s just getting me down. And the fact my birthday is next month and literally everyone I know is coupled up it always reminds me how alone I am 😞

If that genuinely happened, wouldn't you be like "hey so sorry I've been off the radar, unfortunately xyz happened and I didn't feel up to messaging. Hope you had a good weekend" etc
But funnily enough it's only when guys get called out, they suddenly reveal the devastating reason they've not been in touch 🤔

This is not quite about dating but I wanted to share something with you: l think something changed inside me.

I don't want to engage with any of the guys that gave me too little attention or proved to be flakes - in the past, if someone demonstrated lack of interest I made a bigger effort. Now I am like: this is a turn-off. I don't want to convince you that you want me.

And today I had a work meeting that I wanted to have postponed - but it went ahead. Three men were pressing for a solution / agreement and I wanted to postpone and managed to do so - although they didn't like it and there were a few cynical comments in front of everybody. In the past I would have been so ashamed for being humiliated (because of the nasty comments) - now I don't care. I am happy as I achieved what I set out to do - I won more time. I don't care what they think about me.

It seems that rejection doesn't bother me that much anymore and I find it easier to let go.
I hope that this is true and not just a short-lived experience.

Sorry for my ramblings 🙈

I usually follow along with this thread as I deleted my dating apps so had nothing to contribute but just gonna jump in now :)

I dunno if it's the men in my area (judging by the other posts, it's not!) but the amount of timewasters was something else. I didn't really have time to spend hours swiping through the apps and messaging (didn't want to either) but felt every single interaction I had to be a certain level of interesting, chill, breezy, not too serious but also intriguing... you know? I never felt like I was being myself with these guys and was being judged at every opportunity. Even the guys who seemed promising turned out to be fucking weird, like calling me up at 2am after having a drink or tracking me down on social media.

So I've deleted the apps in the hope of meeting someone organically or through a friend now that things are opening up again but who knows. I think the last year has made me realise I'm actually doing fine by myself and I really value my own space and having time for hobbies and friends without dragging a man along.

I thought that was the roger person same style of writing etc

Actually @Professor Farnsworth is the person cos this person has twice mixed me up with someone who she has called miss perfect twice @LaurieLaurie

And the last time she messaged she was told
Off for putting pics up of profiles 👀 then a new account posting about her womb again

Anywhoo my detective skills are needed elsewhere 🤣
Lol yes Thunderfook -> Professor Farnsworth -> Roger Smith. Exact same style of writing!

My friends that jump from one relationship to the next can’t handle being on their own, they will see absolutely anyone to avoid being in their own company. I don’t think it’s healthy, learning to be on your own ups your standards because you realise how peaceful it is to not have anyone else giving you drama or dragging you down.

I realised something last night. Instead of getting so upset earlier this week over those messages I shared that they were dismissive etc...I thought about the age difference (11 years) that he’s in his 50s (grumpy old man who drinks too much) and I thought...you know what? It’s not me. I’m a good person I’ve never shown him anything but kindness- I think he just wants to live his miserable life alone, lovebomb people on match for a couple of weeks. But he doesn’t like people (admitted). Absolutely nothing to do with me...no matter what I am, who I am it would not make him change. I can not control that. I think once that clicks in anyone’s head oh realise..it was never me. So we could be supermodels, we could be the funniest kindest person in the room- bad people will act like bad people, No matter how much good comes their way 🙏🏻😎😎
