hahhaha I literally came on here to say the same after just watched bbc news the reporter even corrected himself when he didn’t say it they’ve obviously got to follow procedure because it’s now a court case so innocent until proven guilty but still funny, call a spade a spade

I remember when the police helicopter crashed into that bar in Scotland, the BBC were showing footage from the scene where you could clearly see the word POLICE on the side of the helicopter yet they were saying “unconfirmed reports suggest it could have been a police helicopter”.

Thread to discuss the prisoner Khalife who escaped from Wandsworth a cat B prison in London. Been missing since Wednesday morning and no confirmed sightings.

Ok, I hold my hand up, I haven't been paying attention! Prisoners go missing quite regularly, but the authorities seem extremely keen to find him - why exactly, what has he done ?

Eta, I just had a google; ex soldier, bomb hoax, accused of eliciting or attempting to elicit information “about an individual who was or had been a member of His Majesty’s forces which was of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism”, and suspected of spying for Iran.
And only 21yo, he's been busy

Perhaps. Or perhaps they'll think he's a great lad.
Security will be tightened around him for sure. I think many prisoners are institutionalised and escaping isn't on their radar anyway.

I'd think he's probably abroad by now. If he went to all that trouble to get out he won't have been planning to be caught in just a few days. It's definitely an odd case.

According to the Metropolitan Police, Daniel Khalife has been arrested on suspicion of being unlawfully at large - and being an escaped prisoner. It is unclear whether he will return to Wandsworth, or a higher-security facility.

Oh yeah, don't doubt that. Drugs, telecoms, all sorts of stuff happening that shouldn't be. The system definitely needs looking at rather than crying about it every now and again..

I’ve worked in prisons for 12 years and I can assure you it’s not just female members of staff who are corrupt.
