She does seem to be a great writer/actress but a godawful panel show guest; she was on Joe Lycett's show and was talking about her tits and guffawing at nothing. Crazy.

I have a theory about this, although I might get jumped on for it. Daisy has said in interviews that she has ADHD. Sometimes *not all times, people with ADHD present differently, so a bit manic maybe or as if they were "on drugs". So that's my theory. She's just neurodiverse, presenting in a more obviously neurodiverse way that most people are used to.

I've used a bit of my own life experience here, from what's been said about me in the past. I don't have a diagnosis but some of my children do and I recognise a lot of myself in stuff that has been discussed over the years due to that.

Sorry guys I couldn’t get on with rain dogs. But I did love Daisy in it - best part of it for me. She has such a fab face for acting (I mean that genuinely and not being snarky). In a Meryl Streep way. I hope she doesn’t start messing with her face.

I'm currently watching rain dogs and she's great in it, she's a great actress, just not a great panelist. I find her quite annoying now, it's bizarre that she lost weight and lost her personality.
I recommend rain dogs of you've not watched it.
Ive watched 3 episodes and its powerful television, the girl who plays her daughter is brilliant.

I watched till the end. Daisy and the guy from Poldark were good but the fact that it was based on Cash Carraway’s ‘memoir’ really put me off. Apparently Cash stole a load of women’s real life trauma and put them together for a book without acknowledging them. Poverty porn at its finest from a middle class cosplayer.

I watched it and it had Cash’s hallmark “YoU’rE ALL witches” attitude running the whole way through it. Same for the wise beyond her years child, Cash would often credit quotes and thoughts to her child that you just knew didn’t happen.

DMC is a talented actress but the fact that this was written by that grifter and liar meant the relentless grimness, misery and portrayal of poverty, benefits and women’s refuges just seemed so bleeping exaggerated and disingenuous that it leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

don't know anything much about Cash, was she homeless? Has she been through what DMC's character is having to suffer ? Does she have an intelligent young daughter?

She has a daughter and that’s about where it ends. There’s nothing wrong with writing about stuff you haven’t personally experienced, lots of writers do it, but Cash tried to pass other people’s experiences off as her own. The book that Rain Dogs was based on was originally sold as a memoir but now isn’t. I first became aware of her through another Iger I used to follow but she eventually got a few threads on Mumsnet that were always pulled. She has a couple of threads on here that are very enlightening.

I'm going to have to have a read of her threads. I really enjoyed rain dogs, but I'm wondering if I would have enjoyed it if I'd Haven know more about the writer.

Same here, I just finished Rain Dogs, I found it really good but (and I know this sounds bad) but found it to lack depth, I don’t know why but I thought there’d be a deeper dive into her background, home life etc. The episode that addressed that seemed to skim it. If there’s a S2 then this could be a good way to get mileage.

I’m away to read the Cash Carraway thread now, I hope I don’t live to regret this but I’ve always had a degree of respect for her and especially when she pulled the original format of what’s now Rain Dogs after they’d cast Billie Piper etc because it wasn’t “right” and she didn’t want to put her name to it.

i just hope she’s not as bad as Jack Monroe, that’s all I’ll say for now.

I hadn’t heard that Billie Piper was set to star in it, but if the only source for that is Cash herself, I’d take it with a shovelful of salt because she’s an habitual liar.

Not very nice as in, was going through a hard time and behaved in a tit way or just wasn't very nice despite the addiction stuff?

I love gossip as much as the next person but it doesn't feel right to know stuff from a presumably confidential arena like rehab.

She obviously has a lot of problems. Seems like a completely different person to how she was when she started out on This Country.
