With a normal interior design project that is professionally executed the planning and ordering process can take anywhere from months to years, depending on the size of the project. The install portion usually takes about week, give or take, again depending on the size of the job. If a designer is being adequately compensated they have included in the budget the cost to hire whatever staff they need to help them execute the install - assistants, moving crews, handymen, cleaners etc.

All I can figure is that she takes on these projects either for free or is paid very little to do them. Hence, can’t afford to pay helpers. As far as the expedited timelines, some of her projects seem to me like maybe the client wasn’t even planning on hiring a designer but Crystal pitched it to them - as in, hey, let me help you out with some styling in exchange for a place to stay for a little while, or letting me film it for content, etc. Her last minute shopping sprees the day before or morning of tells me she either is a really tit planner or she has no place to store the product she is going to be installing so doesn’t purchase in advance. Again, highly unprofessional and speaks to a lack of funding. On actual design projects you couldn’t get away with that because you would be expected to order the furnishings/accessories/window coverings/art/lamps/rugs well in advance and have them waiting to go in during the install. You would never just wing it and wait and see what Ikea or the hardware store has in stock.
Yikes. I feel bad for the owners watching it unfold knowing it will be very costly to try and fix.

You get what you pay for. Buyer beware. I totally agree with you in that I would imagine some of these owners are fairly clueless as to how much she’s going to be costing them in repair or replacement expenses a few months down the road. They think they’re getting a bargain with her but little do they know.

Did you hear her say in one of her stories the other day that she asked the owner why he waited so long to do the remodel (or something like that) and he said "Because I was waiting for you". Probably totally made up but if she had convinced him to let her do it, he obviously didn't know what he was getting himself into!!

Yes, that jumped out at me as well.

This is my take on the situation as well. Freebies for content. Gumtree and Facebook marketplace finds as fillers. Winging it with what is available right then and there.
I doubt she even pays herself much for all that work.
There is no denying she puts in the hours.
I will keep my little eye on how it holds up!

Especially that painted floor! I’ll be curious to see the mess that turns into. Nobody in their right mind would paint what appears to be a tile floor in a high foot traffic environment like a restaurant with dining chairs and bus carts being dragged across it and mopped every night. It’s 🤯

Look- I love a good DIY. But Crystal just posted that she is researching how to do a vintage checkerboard floor for her kiosk reno. I would be shitting myself doing this with 5 minutes notice for a commercial client on the beach. A client who you assume has to clean the floor with commercial products. Absolutely. Shitting. Myself.

So all those monologues where she laughs and says she doesn’t know what she is doing and that she has had no formal training...... well........
I think that although the freebies were offered probably with good intentions, they may not long term be in the best interests of the client. There is a reason why designers design with the given that proper tradies will be doing the job.
Unless of course the space was so bad that anything she does (let’s exclude the contact Benchtop) is going to be better.

I guess it only has to look good for the gram photo tho right?
Eek.

She finds them in her church cult.

Salt water, sand. Yeah, very practical.

Me too. No way I would have taken that job, but then I have a reputation to protect.
The thing about not being properly trained in your field is that you don’t know how much you don’t know. Essentially, she’s too dumb to know better.

Genuine question. Why does crystal always have some small windows of time to work with? She always seems to have something to do ‘in 48 hours’ or ‘in only 2 weeks’. I’m confused as to why she isn’t hired with a realistic time frame agreed upon by the business/home owners. Anyone know? I mean I know that generally you would want something completed asap but if it was a week turnaround I’d be expecting a team of people not just one woman in her swimmers with a stool and a bucket of white paint.
I was thinking the same. Bizarre that a fish and chip shop on the beach would choose the first week of summer to be closed so crystal can slap some paint- sorry 500 fish- on the walls and throw some nets and $2 shop mason jars around.

Absolutely dying at this 🤣🤣🤣
We just need a Marilyn Monroe quote about fish and we can round this out 🤣🤣🤣

Omg she’s blaming ‘trolls’ for her Einstein post being false info 😂. It’s literally an IG thing crystal, no one reported it. ‘Here’s something you can fact check’ 🤣 Her knickers are firmly in a knot.

This restaurant hasn’t been open since covid lockdown. The fish and chips section stayed open (the kitchen and building is split, but open plan spilt into two parts) I doubt he was waiting for her. I’m curious to see if it goes well because it’s never been a successful restaurant space despite being on main beach. Fish and chip part goes off

Far out. She’s “in the trenches, doing the hard things”!
This broad is so disconnected from reality she’s in outer space. Petunia, if you think painting all day is being in the trenches then you’ve had a really pampered, self-involved life. What an entitled, bratty, petulant thing to say. I just can’t with this head.

Maybe this project is so hard for you because you are out over your skis and you don’t know what the duck you’re doing? Maybe?

Nobody reported your stupid post, dumbdumb. It says right there on the screen “the same false information was reviewed in another post“. You triggered Instagram’s algorithm, you ridiculous twit.

And if you’re so, so, so busy being a “great designer” and you’re “good at what you do” why are you so pressed over this thread? How do you even have time to visit here if you’re never on social media and in the trenches all day? Get over it. You are problematic, people discuss it, period. Stop bleeping crying about it trying to get sympathy and start contemplating why you haven’t seen your kid in 2 months instead! Go cuddle the kid you can see instead of taking the time to film 3 stories with some boohoo tale about what a victim you are.

Who the duck cares about some stupid fish quote? No- one is even reading them! They are stupid. Can’t see the fish, do not want to read bible quotes about fish or any other stupid quotes about fish.

How dumb does she think her followers are if she thinks people would believe her “trolls” had power to take down her story. It was obviously fake news so the algorithm got her.

Get over it.

You’ve got blistered hands and your wrists are sore because in your infinite, god-guided wisdom you decided it would be brilliant to hand-paint an entire restaurant with a 3” paint brush all by yourself, you daft twit!
Christ on a cracker, does she only have two functioning brain cells??

tit is hard because you make it hard, Crystal! What the duck would you ever do without self-generated chaos in your world? Does Crystal even exist if she can’t whine about how hard her life is on Insta?
