No. Just noThe virus has a lot to answer for. I hate twee community stuff normally anyway (I'm a total hipster) but coronavirus seems to have made this more common

They are saying it’s because it’s unfair other retailers can’t open to sell these things so the supermarkets have a monopoly but they are just giving online an even bigger monopolyWay back in April when we were only supposend to be shopping for essentials, there was lots of debate at work about closing clothing and homewares etc off. At the time when we all had to queue up it was annoying to see people just roaming non food aisles having a mooch when they should have been doing their shopping as quickly as possible to let the next lot of shoppers in from the elements!
If Welsh queues are not back in place then there's no need to cordon things of surely?
No clothing shops here are closed for the lockdownand clothes shops still have to stay open so what’s the difference if supermarkets sell them or not
Still seems open! Apparently alcohol withdrawal can actually be really dangerous to those dependent on it. I’m glad they are keeping them open, if they are gonna stop me buying chocolate at least I can have wine to cheer me up!I wonder if they've cordoned off the alcohol aisle in Wales?
Would be interested to know if they deem alcohol more essential than literature and knickers
I have friends in Tier 2 / 3 and they have said 'well why can i not go inside but you can (Tier 1)' and basically being like well if other people can in different tiers why cant i - and i can see how frustrating this must be BUT the Tiers vary because of different cases and you cant just be like well X in X place can so why cant I. Although the Tiers have irradiated ANY 'were all in this together'I’m in Sheffield and we moved into Tier 3 at midnight which is completely rubbish but Tier 2 wasn’t exactly great either. Just looking at the Daily Mail pics from last night everyone out in town in Sheffield for the last night. I could hear fireworks going off and everybody was out celebrating. In the pictures there’s mixed groups of friends out in town obviously going into bars together but we haven’t been allowed to mix inside with each other for a bit now anywayI’ve seen so many breaking the rules already and having people in their houses and just going on as normal. In some sense I can’t blame them. Life is miserable and the thought of only being able to meet my parents in a park in winter makes me sad. Just feels annoying that I’m sticking to the rules if others aren’t. This is why this Tier thing isn’t gonna work cos most people aren’t listening.
If they're keeping the alcohol aisle open with an unlimted purchase amount then they should be keeping the clothing and miscellaneous aisles open too.Still seems open! Apparently alcohol withdrawal can actually be really dangerous to those dependent on it. I’m glad they are keeping them open, if they are gonna stop me buying chocolate at least I can have wine to cheer me up!
It's bleeping ridiculous. Where is their common sense? Honestly, this sort of tit is what makes people rebel and push back, the opposite of what they're hoping to achieve. You'd think mops during a pandemic are definitely essential? The whole point is to reduce the virus spreading!

No I totally agree it’s all ridiculous! Their reasoning is they don’t want to benefit large supermarkets while smaller retailers are closed, so they think by stopping people buying clothing/electronics at supermarkets they are somehow stopping this. All they are doing is forcing people to line Amazon’s pockets! If they're keeping the alcohol aisle open with an unlimted purchase amount then they should be keeping the clothing and miscellaneous aisles open too.
A bottle of wine/chocolate bar cheers you up, a dressing gown and fluffy socks would do the same for someone living in a house with no heating.
One persons comfort shouldn't take priority over anothers and that isn't aimed at you.
The thing is, the rules don't make sense. I'm in tier 2 so can't socialise indoors with friends. But yesterday I took my daughter to a toddler class and my friend was also there with her kid. It was inside. But because it was an organised activity that we booked separately, that's fineI have friends in Tier 2 / 3 and they have said 'well why can i not go inside but you can (Tier 1)' and basically being like well if other people can in different tiers why cant i - and i can see how frustrating this must be BUT the Tiers vary because of different cases and you cant just be like well X in X place can so why cant I. Surely if you doing self checkout with the gun things there is nothing stopping to taking one. This is absolutely crazy for the government/supermarkets to decided what’s essential! You'd think mops during a pandemic are definitely essential? The whole point is to reduce the virus spreading!

I was chatting to a friend who lives in Wales and he said it wasn't about essential vs non essential but that it was now illegal for supermarkets to sell anything other than food and drink. I've only got his word for it and neither of us said it was right or wrong to do that but if that is the case it would make more sense why mops etc have been sectioned off?Surely if you doing self checkout with the gun things there is nothing stopping to taking one. This is absolutely crazy for the government/supermarkets to decided what’s essential!
What a lot of people don’t realise is that some supermarkets have limits to the number of people allowed in. Our local Tesco is 50. So when four of them are stood around talking or someone is browsing it’s stopping others from shopping and queues forming.Way back in April when we were only supposend to be shopping for essentials, there was lots of debate at work about closing clothing and homewares etc off. At the time when we all had to queue up it was annoying to see people just roaming non food aisles having a mooch when they should have been doing their shopping as quickly as possible to let the next lot of shoppers in from the elements!

It is completely ridiculous, and I can’t help but think that the supermarkets are taking this way too literally. Someone on Facebook pointed out that what happened if your fridge breaks down? Or your microwave or your toaster? What happens if your child‘s bubble is closed in school and they need to learn at home and you havent got any stationary? You'd think mops during a pandemic are definitely essential? The whole point is to reduce the virus spreading!
