My 6 year old just told me he made his Christmas card at school today. Do the schools know something we don't?
My daughter did the same!!My 6 year old just told me he made his Christmas card at school today. Do the schools know something we don't?
Yes my daughter has done the same. Had to place our orders last week. I think it’s usually this time of yearMy 6 year old just told me he made his Christmas card at school today. Do the schools know something we don't?
Yeah its those, dont panic, been doing them with my class, we have till the end of the week to get them in #moneymakingcrap #whosevensendingcovidcoveredcardsthisyearMy daughter did the same!!
Turned out to be designing cards we could buy printed up
Someone I know went to work in a large food factory when his girlfriend who he lives with, had an inconclusive test result. He genuinely couldn’t understand why he got sent home to self isolate for the week and got a formal warning.I am on the train home and there is a woman talking about how her boyfriend who she lives with has tested POSITIVE and she is on the bleeping train - no wonder we are in such a mess when people who live with positive cases are out and about talking about it publicly I am so angry
Haha, we’ve have these this week too BUT I am reading into EVERYTHING.My 6 year old just told me he made his Christmas card at school today. Do the schools know something we don't?
This isn’t directly Covid related (well kinda is) and I don’t want to derail but am interested in parents perspective on the Marcus Rashford push as he’s saying many children go to bed hungry every night (I don’t dispute that).
It’s just crazy that that’s a reality in 2020 Britain, being able to feed your child is basic and as a parent I don’t know what else can possibly take precedence over that. I’ve seen some MPs saying it’s the parents fault for mismanaging money but I don’t buy that. What a shitshow it all is, I personally can’t imagine not being able to feed my child (If I had one!) and maybe that makes me ignorant but it’s just thankfully not a lived experience for me. And then voting against extra help in a pandemic, Christ

Lots of people on low incomes are unable to save which means they are just one emergency or unexpectedly high bill away from being in a situation where they can’t afford to feed their children.
When MPs say it’s parents mismanaging money it’s because they want us all to assume that they are all buying themselves luxuries or cigarettes or something because this country loves poverty porn and loves to have some one to blame
This is why the 60% furlough payments are so worrying, even more children are going to be living in poverty. I can’t imagine the worry some people are facing.
we had similar in my office back in march before lockdown. someone was supposed to be self isolating as had returned from a high risk country but thought it was good idea to come into the office half way through - thankfully sent back home!Someone I know went to work in a large food factory when his girlfriend who he lives with, had an inconclusive test result. He genuinely couldn’t understand why he got sent home to self isolate for the week and got a formal warning.
All children deserve our worry. Lots of people on benefits will be hard working people who have lost their jobs and are struggling to find another. Or those with life limiting disabilities. I know there are some who take the piss, but the benefits system is there to support those who need it and those who use it properly and have probably paid in and even if not are entitled to it.Those are the children to worry about the ones whos parents work and arnt entitled to free school meals but are on furlough not those already on benefits and already claiming.
I thought everyone on a low income was entitled to working tax credits if that's the case then free school meals is included in this ?Those are the children to worry about the ones whos parents work and arnt entitled to free school meals but are on furlough not those already on benefits and already claiming.
Think you have to earn under 16k (not 100 percent on that) to get working tax credits and free school meals so yes anyone under that will get it. I'm sure plenty of people earn over that and Will struggle on furlough.I thought everyone on a low income was entitled to working tax credits if that's the case then free school meals is included in this ?
If you get working tax credits your free school meal entitlement stops. The earning threshold is slightly higher for universal credit I thinkI thought everyone on a low income was entitled to working tax credits if that's the case then free school meals is included in this ?
Yip I know lots of working parents that get them ,if your wage falls below a certain level you get benefits to top it up .All children deserve our worry. Lots of people on benefits will be hard working people who have lost their jobs and are struggling to find another. Or those with life limiting disabilities. Also low income households get free school meals too. My mum was a single mother who worked during school time and couldn’t afford to work more as there would be no where to go. I got free school meals when I lived with her (back in the 90s but still). It’s not just people on benefits with no job getting them.
I dunno but I kind of find it shocking that we should be living in times where parents even have to choose either feeding themselves or their childrenUnpopular opinion im sure. But as a parent your job is to feed your child over your self. People get enough benefits (the people entitled)to be able to feed children in the holidays. I no so many people on benefits claiming they are skint but yet smoke and have the latest iPhone etc.
Yes but they'd be no worse off than low income families why would it be a crime for them to struggle but Ok for lower income households ,I don't get what you're saying.Think you have to earn under 16k (not 100 percent on that) to get working tax credits and free school meals so yes anyone under that will get it. I'm sure plenty of people earn over that and Will struggle on furlough.
Not sure many people do this outside of channel 5 ‘documentaries’.My point is that they chose to smoke instead of feed there children.
