maybe where you live but many didn’t. Tattle doesn’t represent the general population. I can confidently say people on this thread will follow the rules. I can’t say the same for the real world
I’m not talking about the people on tattle and am very aware we don’t represent the population. They presented stats in the daily press conferences showing compliance was higher than they even expected via their initial behavioural modelling at around 80%, they showed all the usage of parks etc and public transport had gone down a lot.

I actually think it was a rare time where people really did try and do the right thing.

On the whole people followed the initial lockdown, however compliance will now be much lower as people are fatigued.

To add a positive here ✌ the NE of England’s rates are really starting to decline since the level 2 restrictions were made mid September 👍
There was 1 death reported today in Wales, 3 yesterday yet the whole country going into total lockdown on Friday.

right but who was monitoring the parks? Is that compared to anything? Was someone monitoring the park usage prior to COVID?

and public transport usage was likely to be lower as far more people were working from home or on furlough.
It doesn’t really mean people followed in terms of not meeting people, keeping distance etc.

Wouldn't they have known with the drop in infection rate ,that would be telling how well people were following the measures. I'm sure the majority must have been for it to drop so low but there were arseholes doing their own thing too and that will always undo any good work .

I have to admit, today......has been hard.

Don’t think they found fungie either 😕
Selfish duck bounces out mid pandemic 😏
Without wishing to derail again, you'll feel better with this little snippet of Billy on one of the rollercoasters at Disney

I would assume they did have figures on park usage prior to lockdown as it was on the graphs.

But I mean sure, what you say may be true and the vast majority may not have followed the first lockdown and met up with people and not kept their distance....

but then how do you explain the fact that it worked to reduce cases?

And if most people weren’t following it then, why have we seen cases rise again now?

You’ll never get 100% compliance with these things. Just the way humans are, even government officials couldn’t stick to the rules 👀 🚗 🏰

I think we did ok first time round. Those complying obviously outnumbered those not.

Does anyone actually think a circuit breaker will happen in England next week?

I did, but now I dont. We would have heard leaks by now surely? Although people on facebook are discussing it now rather than just here so it feels closer. No idea really lol, which is what is making me so anxious all the time.

I feel the same, really anxious. And I agree surely there needs to be some sort of warning and that needs to be announced sooner rather than later.

Boris will be under pressure to do something fast, especially what feels like a rebellion brewing in the North West. I guess he's stuck between a rock and a hard place. But I suspect he will call for a national CC in the day or two

I don’t think we will - some of the country is already on half term now and it’s really not far away to have heard no leaks at all...

I presumed they got the data from people's location settings on their phones? Google maps emails me monthly and says where I've been, how many miles/hours I've driven etc

It’s extraordinary really. The government have pretty much lost control of Manchester. They have no clue about the North, in fact they don’t really care about anywhere outside of the South East do they? Surely when this is over there will be calls for more regional devolvement?

Another day in this tit storm. And still no circuit breaker announcement.
We really need to do something.

Don’t know about anyone else but it’s busier than it’s ever been since lockdown. Lots of traffic on the road and lots of people at the station into London.

I wouldn’t mind if that was the case! For me it got quiet starting about 2 weeks ago in my bit of central London. Business has dropped down to lockdown-levels for us and with all the uncertainty I don’t see it picking up.

I work in the city, it’s busy (not pre covid levels) but it’s defiantly the busiest it’s been since March. The staton car park (Sussex) was about 50% full where it’s been about 20% full up til now. I guess it’s the workers in my area not people shopping/socialising.

I really do not want a circuit breaker or lockdown. The company my bf works for is close to going under after the first one and keeps getting jobs cancelled. Another lockdown will finish them off. We won’t be able to afford our mortgage on my retail wage. I know that may sound selfish but there are many others in the same situation. We’ve stuck to the rules tried to do our bit for all of this year and yet we’ve still ended up here. I honestly think if you’re in a fortunate enough position to be able to stay at home and work then lockdown sounds a brilliant idea to keep cases down for a few weeks. We are only young, got our wedding coming up next year (probably can’t go ahead) want kids etc and how are we supposed to do that with no money! Yeh it’s awful people are getting Covid but I’ve got family members with cancer who have had treatment delayed or cancelled and live on their own and are struggling with the loneliness. I’ve got bad depression and probably have 1/2 ok days a week at the moment if I’m lucky and all this worrying has sent me over the edge. I’m all for lockdown if people’s wages get covered properly and other life saving treatments keep going but that’s not going to happen is it? I know this is probably a really unpopular opinion on this thread so sorry if I offend anyone.
