I feel exactly the same about my work place!!! i was told I was causing panic when I asked for some hand gel at our till points. Dreading it!!Does anyone here work in the gambling industry (casino/bingo etc). The company I work for didn’t take the virus seriously, didn’t refill hand soap, didn’t clean anything, didn’t ensure that we could all keep 2m distance, insisted that we continue to go to work after Boris announced all social venues to close, lied that they’d pay us full pay etc. I’m dreading when they’re allowed to reopen as they’ll expect ‘all hands on deck’ to get the venues ready and will not be putting our safety first. They really are a profit-before-people company
I hope that the pub/restaurant/gaming sectors aren’t allowed to open for months yet.
I took my own gloves in and was told not to wear them as it “doesn’t look good!”. I had customers licking the casino chips to try and be funny and management didn’t care.I feel exactly the same about my work place!!! i was told I was causing panic when I asked for some hand gel at our till points. 229 but the media keep getting it wrong so will see what they announce at the press conference.Lowest death toll today since March 30th
Didn’t hear the number. Child screaming. Again.
You know what people are like though, they will think ah if he's relaxing lockdown on Sunday there's no harm going to the beach for the Bank Holiday on Friday if its niceHe's not announcing anything until Sunday which makes me think he's getting the bank holiday over then easing the lockdown

But the point in the shifts is to reduce crowding in offices /public transport. If people wfh they might as well do the same shift as those in the office if the office people all just do 9 to 5 ...The change in shift patterns will surely work a lot better for people if they allow them to work from home? It makes sense for any home working employees to take the earlier or later shifts as they don’t have to travel. Anyone who needs to be at the office should try to keep to the “normal” hours.
I've read that of the 204 deaths in England, some of the deaths may have been included in previous daily totals? Not sure how that happens?229 UK hospital deaths today. I know Sunday's and Mondays are always lower but this is a huge drop. Scary how the first thing I saw seeing that number though was oh that's good.
I'm the opposite, i feel so glad i do have the kids to keep me busy and my mind off things. Think my mental health would've taken a real bashing if it wasnt for them. Just shows what works for one doesn't for another!Soooooo glad I don’t have kids. SorryHonestly though couldn’t think of anything worse that being stuck at home 24hrs a day looking after a kid. I’m happy just my little quiet dog and hubby
I'm not holding out much hope for theatre stuff going on this year (I'm a stage manager/prop maker and part of a professional theatre association who are helping us by giving us a free 3 months on our membership payments and giving us advice and hardship fund help etc), also been getting emails from theatres that usually hire for productions later in the year that they don't know when or if they will be. Thankfully I have another job as I've never liked being just freelance so I'm furloughed but if I was just relying on artistic/theatre work I'd be really worried and I'd be looking for a regular job outside my profession until next year for some stability. The fear that this may come back at some point is too much to stand for people working freelance in any area I think. My local theatre has today emailed to say all 2020 productions have been cancelled. But they may be able to put on a minimal schedule over Christmas!
I understand what you are saying, but think of those people who would need to get a train at 4:45AM to get to work for 6AM for example. For some, the staggering won’t be possible as the train would most likely not run early enough. Therefore, these people should be able to work from home to help stagger the hours. But the point in the shifts is to reduce crowding in offices /public transport. I was supposed to see Mamma Mia on Saturday. We were told it’s been rescheduled to 2021. I wonder if more shows will follow suit with such a long delay. At least it’s likely to go ahead rather than the disappointment of being cancelled again but I really feel for the people involved in the production and are paid show by show.I'm not holding out much hope for theatre stuff going on this year (I'm a stage manager/prop maker and part of a professional theatre association who are helping us by giving us a free 3 months on our membership payments and giving us advice and hardship fund help etc), also been getting emails from theatres that usually hire for productions later in the year that they don't know when or if they will be. I think it's likely this delay with be quite normal. I'm not sure how these theatres are working in terms of furloughing but hopefully their staff are safe financially and are getting the 80% (if they're resident staff or on long term contracts). I know Equity and similar are doing all they can to help too.I was supposed to see Mamma Mia on Saturday. We were told it’s been rescheduled to 2021. Surely you can work from home fairly well??!!My work have called me today and depending on what Boris says next, we are expected to go back on shift patterns. I work in an office doing marketing 9-5 and have been told my shift will now be 6-1! Jhz!!!!!!!!!!
