Week 6 of shielding and I'm missing my parents so much. I've got about another 6 weeks in me but don't think I can shield until a vaccine is found. It's killing me. I understand that they want to keep the extremely vulnerable inside but at what cost? My mental health is already suffering. Had enough of it all today

Yep me too. Its been so so hard. I think a lot of people will be thinking they are willing to take their chances of catching the virus rather than stay in any longer. Im one of them unfortunately.

I’m so glad it’s not just me. I feel lucky I can still work, have a roof and able to buy food and many blessings to count.

my mental health is starting to suffer, and I know I won’t take chances to put any if my family at risk, I will and I know I will comply with all of what’s asked for as long as I have to.
just wallowing a bit today. I feel like sometimes you just gotta let yourself feel it, and then pick yourself up. we all will get though this

Reading the announcement from pics they actually infer it could be unrelated to covid 19 so let's not panic too much. This is the mail we are talking about reporting this and the actual pics announcement isn't quite so sensationalist.

Just a interesting thought some of the consultants I work with had said that Italy was the wrong country for the uk to follow because
1. Their generation and culture is totally different to the uk I.e it has a higher population of elderly than the uk so it was always gonna hit them harder plus they have about 3 generations in one house so the virus was always gonna spread much quicker
2. Religion is quite high with it being a catholic country so they also have a strong ethic of preserve life there so when wealthy elderly Italians were presenting initially with symptoms , they were all getting whacked onto ventilators to try and save them so when the urgent cases were coming through , they had ran out of medical equipment whereas the uk would take a different approach to it by trying non - invasive approaches first and then invasive if necessary

Just a thought

I never wanted to go into lockdown in the first place. I have no underlying health issues and don't have any contact with my family as the live across the water. I understand why we did though and now even though I am more than ready to come out will understand that we may have to stay put a bit longer.

Stay away from the daily mail.
No NHS England have asked for a letter to be circulated on Twitter ..I heard it on the radio not The Mail...TOO COINCIDENTAL I think, that an odd rise in these symptoms have suddenly appeared at this time ..If the Medical Pro are concerned that's a big red flag in my book !!

Anyone else going through serious relationship difficulties in lockdown? In almost 7 years I’ve never actually wanted to break up but now I find myself day dreaming about my life as a single woman - maybe I’m just going crazy. We’ve probably had about 5 good days out of the 35 of lockdown (and those were mainly towards the beginning). The rest of the time we’re either constantly bickering or just ignoring each other. Don’t think we’ve so much as kissed or hugged in at least a month . What can we do though? Theres nowhere to go to get space and the thought of being alone during this lockdown is even worse than spending it with him.

This may change the outcome of the ,7ths review. He might even bring in a stricter lockdown if he thinks the virus is even more of a threat than it was.

Can't find it on any official government or nhs twitter account though... strange if their desperate to circulate it on twitter...

I don't think we really did follow Italy as in follow their plan of action. I just meant we were behind them in the trajectory of the virus. Our version of the lockdown was very different to theirs.

Why would NHS England want something so serious to be circulated on twitter of all places?

I’m concerned how much I’ve got used to being on lockdown and no longer feel like I’m desperate for it to be over. This is coming from someone who is barely at home normally due to work/socialising/kids etc

You need to communicate and have an open conversation.
Figure out what's winding you both up and make a conscious effort to avoid aggravating those things.
Have you done a date night?
Take it turns to organise something inside.
Movie nights/cook for each other/games night/wine tasting etc.
Its tough on everyone's relationships but if you make an effort I'm sure you'll get through it

I'm lucky in a way as my husband is still at work, we love eachother but are both very much into our own space. We bicker it we spend too much time together ( more so because we just aren't used to it) can you make an evening just for you two, perhaps get a takeaway and a bottle of wine try band rekindle. Why don't you go for a walk in your own for a bit clear a bit of head space for yourself. If your only getting these feelings now its most likely because of the situation your in so try to look to the future and plan something for you both to do after lockdown. Like as soon as we get out of here let's go to the coast for the day etc.

So this woman I know has seriously infuriating me she has been offered full time work as a Health Care Assistant for the NHS...turned it down despite having her husband home to look after the children he does not work he is a student. despite turning down paid work as a HCA at this time when her local NHS trust has asked for their help, despite her being a student midwife (year 2) whose lectures etc have all been cancelled. she is not only sitting at home on her backside because she said she would be on similar £ as she would getting benefits???? she doesn't even go to the supermarket , she takes a vulnerable ASDA delivery and then moans because most of the things she ordered were not included... (they have no vulnerabilities)

How selfish on so many levels...she obviously isn't bothered about the NHS if she would rather sit at home on benefits that work as a HCA when she has been asked to because the money is similar....disgusting in my view.
