I think the advice was to exercise within walking distance from home. The police were accused of being 'overzealous', however, people are still bending the rules. I know that locally to us all of the car parks and laybys have been chained or closed with barriers. We can reach the beach in 5 minutes by car so in theory, the entire town could exercise there if allowed to drive. We have only walked within the vicinity of our house and the police are still patrolling local beauty spots here. I think the government have really struggled to be clear on their guidelines.
