I’ve spent all day on the garden with my kids. Had a lovely day playing and a paddling pool out. Felt like I was on holiday. Checked twitter and saw nearly 1000 dead and it all came back to me. We are doing this as 1000s are dying. Now I feel guilty for forgetting.
Please do not feel guilty!

We can’t live our lives on the premise that people are dying, fact is people die every day pandemic or not. Yes it’s awful what is happening right now, but we all need to preserve our mental health during this time as best we can. It’s hard enough to have proper fun at the moment, so when you do have it make the most of it. I’m sure your children had a fantastic day, certainly sounds like it.

I’m glad you've had a lovely day and please don’t feel guilty for it.
You didn’t forget. If we thought about this 24/7 (argh hate that term!) we just wouldn’t cope.
That’s why this thread can go from serious to frivolous in seconds - it’s the only way we can deal with the magnitude of what is happening around us.

This was never about the "virus" and all about control. Their future sees humanity in bondage and absolute servitude to our leaders. They are acclimating us to their coming slave system. We are collateral to them. Compulsary vaccines next honney
That's your opinion, but do you have any insight or empathy for all of the people working in hospitals, residential and community care settings who are now at risk for simply doing their job, along with protecting and healing others?

Saying all this added stress and sorrow is just because the governments want to make slaves of us all, well I guess you are in a fortunate position to be able to be destracted by such theories instead of concerned about your loved ones along with the people they support

Ooh I honestly love people like you; it fascinates me that your level of crazy exists freely in our communities and that I might rub shoulders (not currently 🤪) with your ilk regularly. It literally blows my mind.

Please can you share more about your philosophies and theories? There’s not much on the telly tonight, I’ve had a few wines, and frankly I could really do with some belly laughs.

Christ the number of cases (as well as deaths) has shot up today. Remember thinking it was never going to get as bad as Italy?! 😢

Stop with all the nice weather posts 😕 it's been dull and cold where I live in scotland 😭
You must be further north than me then.....been extra mild where I am. I took the dog out for a bit and was shocked at how busy it was with people and cars. I scurried back in after half and hour.

Jesus wept I do make myself some enemies don’t I 😂😂 #Numberonetroll
I jest and I'm not a Trump fan and of Irish origins. I again found myself transfixed by the gardening accessories and I still have no outdoor space

I really don't think there is evidence that we have been given a particular strain of anything. If you look at our death stats for last year (and prior), this year is not particularly bad. Some flu seasons kills more than others; particularly the old and weaker. They are simply categorising any respiratory distress as "COVID-19" when there is no specific test for it. There are so many coronaviruses. We'd likely all test "positive".

900+ people do not die every day of the flu.

Yeterday we had the radio on with endless corona commercials, its unavoidable.

They literally were saying "while we learn how to adjust to a "new way of living"!!

Its programming people, please wake up!!!........
We should be going about our lives as usual, as during every flu season. In fact, we should INCREASE social mingling to achieve herd immunity quicker.

We cannot stop the virus with lockdowns, what we’re doing is prolonging the outbreak and guaranteeing a second wave.

And as far as testing, we should only be testing for antibodies to the virus, in order to see how close we’re getting to herd immunity.
I think you're on the wrong thread dear ....

Eh? Doesn’t this go against the whole ‘essential trips only’

Coronavirus: Public reassured over lockdown policing rules https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-52245937

“Downing Street says people can buy whatever they want from shops that remain open amid concerns some police are overstepping lockdown powers.
There have been cases of police warning shoppers against buying "non-essential" items.”

So it’s okay to walk to the shops just for a Cadbury bar? 🤦🏼‍♀️
My understanding is that There’s a difference between a non essential trip and a non essential item.

You can go for your weekly shop and Chuck as much chocolate in the trolley as you like. Put a porn mag in if it takes your fancy. A new pair of slippers.

You can go the garage to top your electric key up and buy a pork pie.

But if you go to a shop solely for the purpose of Buying a chocolate bar or a pork pie, - that’s an unessential trip.

They are 2 separate things. Police seemed to be confused by the difference. Although I’m not sure why. Seems simple enough to me.

Are we worse than Italy now?
I know someone on here was comparing, with the UK being 2 weeks behind Italy, but I’ve not seen the chart in a while.

That’s exactly it.

The way they’ve written it just sounds like they’re saying it’s okay to just buy non-essential. It’s not worded well.

One minute I feel like I'm dealing with all of this just fine then the next it feels like a surreal nightmare.
I kept a close eye on the daily figures of deaths at first but then once you hear that they're an amalgamation of yesterday's and last few week's it's hard to see the wood from the trees. The numbers are so high that it's easy to lose perspective but those feeling guilty for having nice days in the midst of all this, remember there's nothing you can do to prevent any of this other than doing your bit and adhering to guidelines.
As a teacher and head of department of a core subject in a school that's currently closed due to lack of need for key workers, I feel redundant and at the same time worried about ensuring Y11 and Y13 get fair grades. My son was due to resit 2 A levels and is now in limbo without an institute willing to provide him with predicted grades.
I miss my parents who live 200 miles away up north and who I should have been catching a train to see today to spend Easter with.
I was supposed to be getting married this August in a very low key ceremony with closest family and no idea if this can happen.
At same time am able to spend more time than ever with my partner and my son, read, eat (and drink) a fair amount so have lots to be grateful for. Sorry for essay, just wanted to unload!

totally agree, sure look at me I’m a snapper, I've already had two run ins on here this week and left with a bruised ego about my “crap” posts 🤣 #irishcrap #ididnt

trolls will always show themselves eventually and they hate to be ignored, sometimes they aren’t trolls but just have a very blunt/extreme view on things,
admin always steps in when necessary,

we just need to hit report if things get messy and they’ll be on the radar then 🙂

I just wanted to say that for the people who get frustrated and decide they need to leave because one member has upset a thread 🤷‍♀️
I think the trolls have all been furloghed that's all I'm seeing these past few days on different threads:unsure:

9,000 people have died from it, but it doesn't necessarily mean that 900+ died in that single day, they're just catching up with the death records from the last 5 weeks.

Still 9,000 is far too many.
