Wow, so according to that list my dad isn’t classed as vulnerable so I’ve been worrying unnecessarily!
I mean he only has kidney failure, heart failure, pacemaker, damaged lungs, over 80 and has one leg so is confined to a wheelchair. He’s a (non)walking miracle!
Great news! I might take him to the seaside tomorrow and we can go on the dodgems!

Listening to him he sounds like he has tonsillitis (I was plagued as kid to the point I had it monthly and they removed them) and they’re certainly larger than normal having just checked but no spots. My son had repeated tonsillitis all through his childhood and it always started with a very high temp that lasted 2-3 days. He could always still eat and drink which is why the hospital wouldn't remove them as they said he wasn't getting it badly enough or missing enough school but he used to get it every 3 week at one point. It did used to give him very smelly breath..have you noticed that?

We are so hyper vigilant right now, and imagine the worst case scenario - which isn't surprising given what's been happening over the past few days, and seeing how its physically changing us. Keep an eye on him and if you have more concerns then phone up. x

I’m getting confused by this stay home stuff. My husbands employers are carrying on like nothing is happening. They’ve had no updates, no changes to working practices, nothing. It’s a warehouse so not public facing and there’s only about 6 of them and they’re spaced out most of the day. It’s not possible for them to work from home. So does stay home only apply outside working hours for them?

How is the local GP posting more indepth than the Government list? Surely if these other issues are included they should be on the government list?

i Think it’s all hit me today and I’m having a bit of a melt down I suffer from anxiety and depression anyway and today has set me of. I volunteer at the blue cross And one of the staff was telling me today how there really struggling and have been told to go down to 12 cats and five dogs when they have nearly double that normally so they can’t help as many as they have been for maybe 12 weeks or more. So I offered to take one of the lifters on kittens into foster care to help ease the pressure. But I’ve got home and my mom and dad have said no. I’m 28 but still live at home. I know I sound like a petty brat now but I really thought it’d be fine we are cat lovers. It’s upset me as I wanted to help during this time in some way as I have no job currently been out of work since December. So now I’m having a good cry. Sorry to sound complelty pathetic think it’s all got on top of me today xx

From the start, they said we could still go to work during social distancing but if you work in an office then ask if you can work from home where possible. I work in a similar environment to your husband and am still going to work but we are all spaced out.

I think the government are using a more "umbrella term" for the conditions, he's just elaborating in more depth as his surgery is being inundated as to what exact conditions the government class as vulnerable..

Ahhh I can relate... Had mine removed in 2012.
Bless him...i remember when I suffered badly that icelollies were my best friend, they were so soothing. Have you got any or do you have anything you can use to make some homemade ones? They'll keep his fluid up as well as soothe his throat.
Tbh though it sounds like he could use some ibuprofen to reduce any swelling... Maybe give 111 a call to see if they'd recommend giving him any as he doesn't have a cough to indicate first signs of CV!?
I can understand your worried, anyone would be at the moment.

I cannot even begin to imagine what it will be like if you are not even allowed to go for a walk. Only to get food. Suicide rates will rise I’m sure of it. This will mentally damage a lot of people.

It already is. My partner is finding it really difficult and we aren’t in self isolation, we are just social distancing and still going to work. I had a period of anxiety and depression at the end of last year/ beginning of this year, I was doing better but I think it’s going to be difficult for this to not set me back (gym, getting out and about and socialising even when I didn’t want to really help.)

I'm going in circles on the internet trying to find info - my sons partner who is asthmatic is self isolating with her 22 month old daughter. My son has been working away and is due home at any moment. Does he need to self isolate with her or can he continue to work? He has no medical problems and is well under 70.

Oh bless you, how kind of you to think of helping those kittens. I'm sorry your parents haven't allowed this to happen. Do you think they might come round once they've had time to think about it? I think it would really help you with your depression and anxiety if you had kittens to care for as it will stop you dwelling on things, could you try pointing this out to your parents?

I’m betting my mother gets a letter re her asthma and I hope it might get her to take it more seriously.

Thats a lovely idea But Ill be honest if my child turned up with a handful of kittens without telling me my immediate reaction would be 'absolutely bleeping not'.
Are your parents maybe worried of the additional cost of feeding and caring for said kittens in such an uncertain time? If one of them needed medical attention would you need to pay for it or ensure you took it to a vets?
Especially if you're unemployed it may just be an added stress to an already worrying time.
I think it'd be a bit of a shock for anyone without a discussion.
Just trying to see it from their point.

His mother will not make him do either. Hes here now so I jokingly asked him what his plans were tomorrow and he said chilling in bed all day. She can be extremely volatile so if hubby mentioned anything about doing schoolwork or not playing with friends she would just stop him from coming over.
