It is really unnatural and very fake how he uses it and his accent is awful. As I said before it used to be a very natural greeting where I lived until maybe the 70's - hey up rooster/cocker - in Yorkshire and also in parts of Lancashire but his use of it is awful.That's funny because I think it comes across really fake. It might be something he's added but it sounds unnatural.
I moved to Nottingham and ey up me Duck became the local greeting - which I hated from then until now because my FIL said it to me every time I met him .
