I do think it’s clear that he was the problem with her family, and that’s why CM became estranged and unsupported (not that there’s anything to show her parents supported her beforehand - emotionally I mean)

I’d bet my life she was given the opportunity to put her children first and leave him in order to be with them and be their mother but she chose him over and over again. Even after losing some already. That is so unforgivable.
There would’ve been a long and drawn out process from her falling pregnant to the first child being removed. Unfortunately I know a very violent rapist and as well as that horrific crime he is also convicted of sexually assaulting a child - but has incredibly gone on to father multiple children quite freely. In my experience authorities are very sluggish when dealing with him - in fact they won’t deal with him at all when I, myself, have made multiple reports and contacted them directly (not even anonymously!) with details, evidence and addressesI find myself thinking the sex offenders register isn’t as robust as people are lead to believe, the prison system is shit - no-one is being rehabilitated, the probation service is even worse and children’s services are no longer fit for purpose. I hold a very dim view of the police also That’s why I think these two are going to be out in no time at all, having more children and they’ll be free to do so as is their human right, right!? They can’t and won’t be stopped and they know it. They don’t give a fuck, they are not remorseful and this is all just a mere formality. In my opinion.

Just wanted to add it states in the latest one the poor babies head was ‘concave’ when found by the police officer in the bag. Came here to see if anyone else had picked up on this. After some Googling it says this is usually linked to extreme dehydration. Of course this could be decomposition too, I don’t know?

I think this will come out, next week in court. With the prosecution barrister going through what advice CM was given with her previous children. It's likely social workers tried to work with CM to improve her parenting before removing the children.I was looking for the post about her previously being warned of unsafe sleeping and have just mixed up ans just re-read this one

As a vulnerable inpatient on a maternity ward with a newborn, I’d have been really concerned if I’d known that the man visiting the woman next to me was a convicted sex offender

If there are safeguarding concerns highlighted in pregnancy, a care plan will be put in place for the birth. If the father is deemed a risk he maybe banned from the maternity ward or only able to visit under supervision. If its a general visitor they won't be quizzed on their past convictions. There are specialist midwives trained in safeguarding who work with families like CM and a discharge planning meeting is had before the baby goes home.I doubt they could monitor it in visitors to be honest?
