I'd love to live a week without the internet to see what it would be like. I know I could do that myself now but I'm not going to because I'm hooked even though I know it's not good for be to be online too much. I think a lot of services are so completely reliant on the internet now that we'd be in serious tit very fast if it happened for real. Hospitals, banking, transport etc.

Anyone with a chronic condition would be screwed to be fair. But emergency services would be able to get back up and running eventually I think.

The world coped before the Internet. Electricity going out with be an issue but I guess generators could be used for things hospital equipment.

We've been discussing how to convert a car into a generator and how to use fire burners to make an oven.

We're not actually survivalist, just silly convos about what we'd do.

I've lived off grid ( No electric or runningwater only gas and solar and fire) and semi off grid ( electric but no running water etc ) for nearly 20 years all the while doing seasonal work. Semi retired now and still not in a house but have the luxury of running water and electric and I can tell you now back to basics life may be harder work, may sometimes be a struggle - carrying or finding water, running out of gas and having to light a fire to have a brew, washing in cold streams going hungry etc but it makes you feel more alive than endlessly scrolling and having your every wish delivered to your door ever will.

The nation is surrounded by smart technology, fast fashion, fast food pretend food, recipes delivered and don't even have to leave their house for work. But are they happy? Well in my mind it's experiences that make you happy not takeaways and Netflix. There has never been a generation more reliant on electricity, rather ironic in times of climate change lecturing and green bs.
Yes I would half like to see how everyone copes without being constantly connected. I will tell you one thing though I am sick to death of seeing phone addicted zombies lining the streets, shops, cafes and transport.

Try a trial run. switch off your utilities say for 12 hours ( freezer food will be fine) and see what you missed the most and if there was any way around it, what you needed but didn't have etc. if your way of cooking worked or not maybe your pans were not great on a camp stove etc. How long did your saved water last. search for survival-type books, how to filter water, to cook
Those pan wraps seem very good, you boil your water/food then wrap it in duvets etc to slow-cook

Everything seems to be pointing to a cyber attack. so seems crazy not to prepare for it just in case. don't have to go nuts like those preppers but just basic stuff and things to entertain yourself and the children.

I get a funny feeling something is going to happen with the Superbowl. no idea why maybe because it just seems to be everywhere right now, normally it just happens and goes without us Brits really knowing about it?

With the odd feeling you had with the Superbowl - you just need to look up the hashtag #Superbowlmassacre.

Always trust the experts. 🤡

“In a letter to campaigners, the University of Sussex Hospitals NHS Trust (USHT), said that the milk produced by trans women after taking a combination of drugs is “comparable to that produced following the birth of a baby,” reports the Telegraph.

Transgender ‘chestfeeding’ milk can be produced by biological men if they take the hormone progestin, which creates milk-producing glands, in combination with a drug such as domperidone, which makes them lactate.

“Domperidone, also known by the brand name Motilum, was not intended for this, but is prescribed off-label by doctors, despite the manufacturer, Janssen, itself recommending against it because of possible side effects to a baby’s heart,” reports the newspaper.

I saw a really interesting doc by a cancer specialist saying that we are supposed to have bacteria in our stomachs that produce enzymes that protect us from cancer. But pesticides are killing them off. Hense the cancer rate increase. They are currently trying to cultivate the organisms to help treat cancer but it seems the corporations are too powerful stop them selling and using their killer chemicals on our food.

Do they not think that’s the sort of crap that causes division and racism? Who on earth would be offended by an AI Image of a white person? But now, there’s something to be annoyed about, woke PC culture where people think it’s not “ok” to be white anymore.

Unless that’s exactly what they’re after 🤔

Pharmacies just now, after even 911 would not work yesterday.

It'd take less than an hour for everything to collapse if we lost the internet. Everything these days is dependent on the internet to run, it's quite scary to think about how we've put all our eggs in one basket there's no backup for the internet.

I'm becoming increasingly concerned with just how many conspiracies have so much realism. I do find some absurd of course but this world we're living in is now very unnatural to us all, and it's only going to get worse with the rise of AI. I also think there's a lack of philosophy as an important topic, sounds irrelevant but people don't question anything these days and I think it is something that should be fundamentally innate in everyone.

Nobody thinks outside the box, we spend the time we would've once spent wondering and thinking and now we fill it with tiktok and scrolling social media. I don't think it was supposed to be this way.

I couldn't have put it better myself. It is insane, I think this is why there's been huge rises in mental illness, zoochosis. We're animals, and yet nothing we do is natural. We would've been painting, hunting, fishing, growing own crops, writing, imagining, thinking and so much more, I find society absolute hell... and idk if it's because I'm ND but I would just like to have a human experience with this one life I have, but everything is thrown at us, we lap it up and live with our phones permanently glued to our hands feeding us dopamine and addicting us.

I think people losing touch with nature and moving from being an agricultural society to a technological one is huge. People don't know what's normal anymore. All the trans nonsense could only flourish in a society that had totally lost its way. I do think people are still mostly mostly good people though and things offline aren't as bleak as they seem online. Governments, media etc are losing touch with Pele and with reality for sure though.

Thanks for your post about measles on the cv thread Rainbow. I saw this recently about the introduction of vaccines after the disease was already on the decline, so tadaaaaa must've been the vaccine!
