Soon as the babies are home she's going to start saying how hard it is to have them but she's thankful and blessed but it's so so hard. With Erik, her mom and Kory plus this nanny/babysitter looking after her kids she will have all the time in the world to film herself crying and having her daily pity party.

It really feels like she just wants them home for the sake of being home for Christmas rather than being home because they are healthy enough
That’s the feeling I got. She’s lucky both of them are still alive. Maisy was right on the brink of death. I wouldn’t care if they were home for Christmas as long as I knew my babies were getting stronger and healthier in the NICU with caring professional people surrounding them when I couldn’t be with them. Granted- not the same as home but it will be better next Christmas- they’ll be cute one year olds crawling around the house being obsessed with boxes and wrapping paper rather than the presents contained in them. :)

I still feel like she’s barely spending any time with them and I feel like if she spent actual entire days there they might be able to come home sooner??? I am not a NICU nurse by any means so I would love if anyone who is one or knows about this topic could chime in. The nurses suggested she comes more and she’s still only coming for a few hours a day. I don’t understand why she thinks it’s going to be the end of Flynn’s happiness if she focuses on her twins!

Because that's her thought process and she's probably projecting on how she'd feel if she had to give up the spotlight.

instead of spending hours on a barely faulty livestream she could have been in the nicu with her babies !!

I can see her skin picking is back? I'm sure it's all anxiety induced by not getting the correct vitamins etc for her body. When she was pregnant, eating more and taking IVs, she stopped picking her skin, now she's back on pure junk food and not enough intake she's back picking her skin. Mind and body are all linked and that obviously includes nerves

I'm really worried about these kids' futures if they will be only homeschooling all of them. I doubt you can socially develop that much as a person if the only people you interact with is the family you've known since birth. Or maybe I'm just being ignorant since the concept of homeschooling is so foreign to me.
All of the Ballinger kids are cash cows. They’re homeschooled so Chris and Jess have material for videos. It’s disgusting. I only hope they break free from this when they’re old enough to realise this and sure their parents for every penny that they are owed!

I will never forgive Colleen for grooming a minor and click baiting pregnancy. She’s odious and undeserving.

I would never, ever judge a mother usually, I believe never judge someone unless you’ve walked in their shoes.
I am worried for her mental wellbeing at the moment and have genuine concern about her bond with her babies, she had a very traumatic and sudden birth and it’s all very out of her control, control is a big thing for her, I personally think she isn’t spending half enough time at NICU
My nephew was born at 26 weeks gestation and he was in NICU for months, he had a severe brain bleed, has cerebral Palsy and hydrocephalus among other stuff, his parents although had another child barely left the hospital, they were there for every feed, bath, nappy (diper) change and he was home before his due date.
I think if they spent more time with the twins they would be home much sooner.

Interesting to hear that - that was my suspicion but I have no knowledge about NICU babies and the process of it at all.

She seems to be so distanced from them and it seems like Flynn is still her first priority when the twins should be. At the very least she should make them all of equal priority… but Flynn is still getting the most attention and time spent on him.

Exactly, and why is she so against the idea of her and Erik being at the hospital in shifts? It's not the end of the world if they are separated for a few hours a day, they have two cars and they can videochat or something while the other one is in the hospital. She keeps saying how blessed she is but is barely taking any advantage over it.

I think you're all right. The twins would come home sooner if Colleen and Erik demonstrated that they were ready for the responsibility of 24/7 care. The fact they've already hired a Nanny and their twins aren't even home yet probably tells the nurses that the twins should stay in the NICU longer

It's clear neither Colleen or Erik has any idea about how much care her twins currently require, and will need when they come home. This isn't like Flynn. Where she can take cute photos, and so long as he's fed and changed he'll be ok. The twins require round the clock care. Even when they come home there will be significant care needs which go far beyond a full term healthy newborn. Add to this there's 2 of them and so twice as much work. Yet Colleen is planning to go on tour and is carrying on like nothing has happened. 🤦‍♀️ I suspect the NICU staff are really worried about letting the twins go home as neither parent seems to understand just how poorly they are, and how much their lives will need to change to accommodate 2 vulnerable babies. At the minute they seem to spend much of their time in the NICU unit taking photos and filming content. The reality of the twins health problems and medical needs seem to be completely ignored.

I wonder who introduced them to the adjusted phrase. At this point, it doesn't seem to be comparable as she says they're still doing the developing that they should have completed in the womb. Is the fact that Erik and Colleen can't bear to be apart indicative of larger trust issues? Or just another example of codependance.

Babies develop and grow at different rates inside and outside the womb. Flynn was born at 36 weeks but weighed and was developed exactly the same as any baby born at 41 weeks. It is especially useless to label both twins at exactly the same growth development based on the "adjusted age" calculation because they are two individuals growing and developing at different rates. The adjusted age calculation doesn't necessarily take into account births of multiples neither. They should just stick to their ages being from when they were born. That's my opinion.

Also it's telling how we all call Flynn by his name but the twins are just "the twins".

Im interested to know how many of you are parents
I'm a parent of 2 (both teenagers now), one was a preemie but left Scubu and came home within a week - I was in the hospital the whole time and spent pretty much all my time next to them, apart from when I was sent to sleep, as they were being treated for the things that came from being born too early.

The other was born at 38 weeks - both are now teens so I'm nowhere close to being up to date with the latest bits and bats.

Parent or not, a lot of this is common sense. And Colleen is too much of a narcissist to have any.
Actually, a lot of it is judgemental and cruel. It’s really easy to be the perfect parent when you aren’t actually a parent.

I’m sorry we haven’t mentioned it on this page of the thread yet; Colleen stopped to straighten her hair whilst in premature Labour with twins 🤯🤯🤯 I don’t care I’m being judgemental, that is completely crazy
