Exactly. I bet it would sort things out overnight and there would be no more of these protests if the police just left them glued to the road for once, even better put up some boarding/fencing so they're just enclosed in their own little protest space and the world just carries on around them. See how committed to the cause they are when having to wet themselves or rely on others to spoon feed them their dinner becomes a real danger.

If you go up on the bridge, then leave them there and let life carry one. They are well aware of the danger they are putting themselves in so let them worry about it. Why are 100s of people being effective for the actions of one.

Agreed. It's so wasteful. I understand they have their views, but pouring milk all over the floor of shops isn't the way to change hearts and minds.
It just makes me want to consume more milk to be honest, as an 'up yours' to them.
Funny how they stuck to Harrods, Waitrose, M&S and Fortnum & Mason with their silly little protests. Why might that be? Scared of the reception they might get in other supermarkets?
They should be charged with theft, as while they didn't remove any milk from the premises of those shops, they still wasted it to the point that none of it can be sold. Therefore it's as good as stealing it.
I think it's criminal damage anyway? In front of witnesses, recorded on shop cctv, and of course footage conveniently uploaded to social media as evidence for the prosecution and a nice easy comment from the judge that while speech may be free, milk most certainly is not. Fined £2500. Next!

Well we’re here talking about it so tit tons of earned media worth its weight in gold & increasing public sympathy as they’ve largely moved away from stunts that inconvenience the working person (appreciate there’s still traffic blocking going on). More power to them
I'm not seeing much public sympathy or awareness of what they want other than buildings to be orange, to be honest.

Tbf this is a horrific tory government decision that’s a massive encroachment upon our civil liberties that we should all be super disturbed by (whether or not we paint buildings orange in our spare time) but you’re right, it’ll gain support from MPs and their constituents because of these protests. But what’s the alternative? Let the world burn? "The right side of history". Interesting concept because only history will determine who is the right side. And future history is as yet unwritten. In a modern context the Emporer Valens did the right thing by letting fleeing Gothic tribes settle within the Roman Empire. In effect making the first grant if asylum. 40 years later as Alaric King of the Goths sacked Rome I suspect that the civilians being put to the sword would find scant consolation with the thought that Valens did the right thing.
Lenin did the right thing when he reorganized Russian society to correct the eyewatering inequalities. Are you arguing therefore that the horrors and human rights abuses that emerged from Lenin's creation, the Soviet Union, was the right side of history?
And if you want to argue that this was a long time ago and the world has now moved on to a more spiritual plane then I would suggest that there are approximately 40 million Ukrainians who may disagree with you.
But anyhow to answer your question what should they do? The next election is two years away, possibly much sooner. Organize, form a political party, take your arguments to the people and try to gain power, and hence change policy, by electoral and legal means. Surely if their arguments are so compelling and science based we are talking about a XR/JSO alliance landslide victory? Right? After all isn't "by any means necessary" part of their mantra? Surely that must include legal means....

Kier Starmer has come out and said that he supports these moves and they would not be repealed under a future Labour Government.
Something has to be done.
As it currently stands there will be serious escalations in the future, whereby fed up members of the public WILL take the law into their own hands to deal with this continual disruption. Just Stop Oil are just causing a war with the general public.
If the idiotic Deputy Commissioner of the Met Police doesn't want the public to step in and do the job of the Police, then they need to step up and deal with these idiots blocking the roads and spraying buildings. Moving them on immediately, no more of this 'softly Softly' crap that isn't working. Lawlessness of the protesters is being dealt with by lawlessness from the public.
I think it is high time that some of these businesses that have been sprayed with orange paint took Just Stop Oil to court to claim damages and compensation. It isn't right that they should have to stump up clean up costs. Just Stop Oil should be paying for those costs.
These idiots aren't peacefully protesting. They are causing the public uneccesary hassle and causing criminal damage to property.
