Has Clementine mentioned anything about the referendum? I don’t follow her closely enough so I might have missed it, so just wondering if she cares about anything outside her own existence.

No, thankfully she's leaving it to First Nations people which is a good thing.

Disagree, she has a platform and could help share important information. It shouldn’t be on the shoulders of First Nations people to do all the work here.
It’s complicated and as a First Nations woman I personally would be pissed off if she publicly weighed in on this one

There’s a few other people that haven’t said much which surprises me. I think Lidia Thorpe is saying to vote no so I wonder if they don’t want to say anything because of that. I think Clem is a fan.

This is fair enough as well.

I just can’t believe Clementine told people to “get a real job” about the Matty J stuff

It's not about being 'on the shoulders' of First Nations people, it's about letting them decide on voting for something about them. I am a First Nations person and I wish people would stop having an opinion on how people should vote for this 🤦‍♀️

That’s a weird stance. The entire country has to vote. Everyone has to have an opinion. It cannot be a vote only for First Nations people.
I think it’s really lazy and telling when an influencer like Clem stays out of the discussion like “it’s not my problem”. How privileged.

Are you a First Nations person on land that is yours but has been stolen and now everyone votes to decide if you get a say on First Nations things/other things? Cause if you're not you don't get to tell First Nations people how they should feel or vote. We don't need every white influencer having a say. Anyway last I'll say on this, it's freaking exhausting and people just need to listen more and stop telling First Nations people how they should feel. It's so freaking dangerous and brings up so much for us.

How are you voting out of interest?

I was a firm yes as I think any no will get swept up in the racist no camp that has gained way too much traction in the last few weeks. But I am questioning this a bit as the whole thing is so soul destroying.. Like why are we voting just to have a say? Is a yes vote contributing to the racist policies in having this dedicated voice? It's so complicated but in saying that I'm 99% sure I will still vote yes. I am hanging onto a thread of hope that it will contribute to a positive change.

I am Yorta Yorta actually. And I do want other people to take on the education so I don’t have to keep doing it. Not lecturing mob on how to feel, but white people need to start talking to other white people and educating them on the history and their responsibility to do something about it. Why does it always have to be mob begging for people to listen? It’s pure privilege for people like Clem to opt out like it’s not her business and she doesn’t want to get her hands dirty (or avoid backlash more likely). These people live here, they have to vote, they can get interested. Turning a blind eye is what has done so much damn damage to us.

I will respectfully disagree. It's not about us educating people, that's not what we should be doing. But it's up to white people to educate themselves which they can do without preaching tit that they shouldn't be involving themselves in. I as a First Nations person respect the views of other First Nations people whether they are yes or no. I wouldn't appreciate Clementine chiming in either way. I respect your view and understand why, and always hope that this doesn't divide mob more than it already has.

This is a weird take. She’s still not posting her opinion about the Voice, she’s sharing links to posts by First Nations people on her stories.
