Retainer Brite is your friend! To clean I use those dissolvable tablets meant for dentures - think I read about them on this thread!
We’ve got a similar-ish length of treatment (I have 12 trays for 7 days each) and tbh you’re moving through trays so quickly & it’s not as if you’re eating or drinking with them in you don’t really need additional cleaning products? They give you some Invisalign branded cleaning crystals if they discolour tho!So I had my Clincheck today and get my first set of aligners on the 17th!I am due to have 22 trays and change them every 10 days so it’s not looking as long a process as I thought which is good! I don’t get attachments til tray 7 either so I can get going over Christmas and new year.
Has anyone got any recommendations of useful things I should get ready for when I begin? I’ve got a little pouch to go in my handbag, and will obviously get a toothbrush and travel sized toothpaste… any aligner cleaners etc?
Bit of a left field comment here, but if I knew at the start what I know now I’d have got a really good quality medicated lip balm! My lips were so incredibly dry due to the plastic/saliva reduction etc Vaseline won’t do the job.So I had my Clincheck today and get my first set of aligners on the 17th!I am due to have 22 trays and change them every 10 days so it’s not looking as long a process as I thought which is good! Second this, get yourself a good lip balm!! And you can get big packs of retainer brite for alright prices from Amazon, the Invisalign crystals are so expensiveBit of a left field comment here, but if I knew at the start what I know now I’d have got a really good quality medicated lip balm! Surely they’ll put you in the top retainer for that time as the teeth could shift back? Otherwise what’s the point in wearing a retainer at all after treatment like they suggest!Yes, the dry lips are terrible! And dry mouth too. I have 6 more weeks of trays then I’ll collect another 3 for the top but 6 for the bottom. So I’ll have them on the bottom for three weeks which I think will feel really odd. It’s even more strange because the bottom ones are fine, it’s the top ones I got the aligners for in the first place. I’ve already HV had a train track k brace on my bottom ones when I was a teenager.
I only have bottom trays left so I queried it. I've been told to use the final retainer for my top teeth until the bottom teeth 'catch up'.Yes, the dry lips are terrible! And dry mouth too. It may be worse tomorrowGot my first set of aligners today. Had them in for about 5 hours and all I can say so far is ouch![]()
Depends how decent your orthodontist is really. Mine was generous with it and I think I did 6 extra weeks to get it perfect but that was his suggestion rather than mine. I would say in theory they should agree if one tooth has obviously not moved to where it should. Because they’re going by the model scan they create at the beginning they should be able to say whether more trays will help or not.I’ve only got a couple of weeks left on my Invisalign treatment. There’s one tooth that I’m not happy with. Do I tell them on my final appointment that I want more aligners made? And it won’t cost me anymore that what I’ve already paid?
Just ordered more chewies. I ran out over a week ago. They get ripped up really easily.
Yes! I have my set number of trays, then a period of “refinements” if needed that’s built into the cost.I’ve only got a couple of weeks left on my Invisalign treatment. Heya, Invisalign have tiers of treatment so even though mine is minor (3 months) and in the littlest point in their scale it’s still £3.xk. We have a similar issue with it just being two teeth but the thing to remember is you have to move the teeth around it too hence it taking a few months!Hey guys! I’m wondering if any of you could help me x
so I have a small gap between my two front teeth, it’s pretty small but it’s been bothering me and I’ve decided to do something about it. The rest of my teeth are fine! I’ve attached a couple pictures of what I mean (not of me, just similar). Do you think Invisalign is right for me? I know it’s just a gap, but I don’t want to go to the dentist, get ripped off and pay thousands and go through a lot of pain for this small gap, but I’ve heard composite bonding isn’t great and doesn’t last long. Im pretty unsure what to do! Any advice would be appreciated!
Thank you x
Thank you so much! I assumed it would be less if there was less to be moved but had no idea!Heya, Invisalign have tiers of treatment so even though mine is minor (3 months) and in the littlest point in their scale it’s still £3.xk. Also I thought my bottom teeth were fine because I’d had metal braces as a teen, but they’re still making some tweaks to them too!
Tbh would be worth a chat with a dentist. I would assume bonding would be best tbh
I think it depends on what tier of treatment you’re on? I can have two phases of refinement of up to 14 aligners at no extra cost. Decisions are made from scans and X-rays though, I’ve never been asked to send in photos. Has he not broached this or made adjustments as you’ve went along? Or were your bottom teeth not straight in your plan?So today is my last day of wearing my last aligner. Well, what I mean is, I send my photos on a Tuesday and put the new one in on the evening. I was meant to see the dentist last week but he got covid, so it’s been pushed back a couple of weeks. I’ve been told to send my photos as usual and they’ll decide if I can stop wearing it or not. But, tbh, I don’t want to stop wearing it if I’m not seeing him until next week.
Also, I’ve been Googling and you only get 2 weeks worth of refinements. Is that right? My bottom teeth still aren’t straight, so how do I broach the subject? I feel like I’m being cheeky saying I’m not happy, even though I have paid for straight teeth![]()
