Thanks everyone for your advice it’s really appreciated! I’m gonna hate being a 28 year old with braces for 6 months but hopefully it will be worth it!
I was 27 and quite conscious of them! Soo worth it i swear. Just thinking i had mine from april to oct, so if you start soon we'll be similar! Thanks everyone for your advice it’s really appreciated! I’m gonna hate being a 28 year old with braces for 6 months but hopefully it will be worth it!
Thank you! Did you find you had many people comment on them when you had them? I’m a bit nervous about what people will sayI was 27 and quite conscious of them! Soo worth it i swear. Just thinking i had mine from april to oct, so if you start soon we'll be similar!
One tip - lipstick seems to get all over them so dont wear it, instead colour in your lips with lip liner, that didnt transfer for me!
Nobody has commented on mine and I'm of an age where you wouldn't expect someone to have braces.Thank you! Did you find you had many people comment on them when you had them? I’m a bit nervous about what people will say
How are you getting on?Thank you! It’s nice to know it’s not just me - I’ll keep trying!![]()
I thought this, but honestly, I only wore mine from around roughly 6pm-10am because I eat so much and my teeth moved as they were supposed to lolI'm considering the fixed brace as I don't think I will have the dedication for the Invisalign!
I've just finished mine and my face shape has changed (for the better). It's far more like it was originally, before I had the initial dental treatment that led to the need for Invisalign.Has anyone completed their treatment and found that their face shape has changed? I'm worried about getting them now as my face is so long and thin as it is and I don't want to look even worse (but with good teeth haha)
Whenever i went out, I'd just take them out before i left the house. Made no difference to how long my invisalign has taken. Id say aim for 18-20 hours a day, you don't NEED to have them in ALL the time, just wear them as much as humanly possible, but don't allow them to take over your life etcI started Invisalign last week! I’m not finding it painful at all, but the lifestyle change and commitment is difficult. I’m now basing my whole life around when I’ll take my trays out, and I’m going out with friends today for the first time and genuinely considering eating before at home so I don’t have to deal with taking them in and out in public.![]()
I agree, at first I was very stressed about wearing them all the time but realistically if every time you change your trays they fit on without much of a struggle, then you know you’re wearing them enough.Whenever i went out, I'd just take them out before i left the house. This is the exact conversation i had with my dentist. I only wore my invisalign 6pm-10am ish which i dont recommend but i asked my dentist if my teeth are moving as expected and he said the trays wouldn't fit if they weren't moving as expected. I guess they have to be super strict about it just to cover themselvesI agree, at first I was very stressed about wearing them all the time but realistically if every time you change your trays they fit on without much of a struggle, then you know you’re wearing them enough.
Definitely be less hard on yourself. Im on my last 8 trays now hopefully, i have one really stubborn tooth that just won't straighten. I drink all drinks with mine in too and i don't brush my teeth after each meal either - i dont want to be brushing my teeth 8 times a dayOh wow really? I’ve been wearing mine for 23 hours a day (probably more than that tbh!) Maybe I need to be less hard on myself. I literally take them out for ten mins for breakfast, lunch and dinner and then rush to clean my teeth and get them back in.
Yeah I was surprised but thought as long as it works I don't mind really. Just worried about how sensitive my teeth will be; they've been more so than normal with the invisalign which I was told was normal but I'm a bit nervous about this than the actual straightening for some reason!I thought the whitening would be at the dentist as well. I did mine at home and put little dots of gel on my retainer and put them in over night (can’t remember how many nights). I was happy with the results but it made my teeth SO SENSITIVE during the process.
It's so worth it! I waited for years to do it & wish I had just gone for it years ago. You will not regret it, just get the first/second tray out the way and it will fly by.Wow that's really quick! My dentist said mine will take a year as my teeth are moderate/severe. I start in June but keep trying to talk myself out of it, I know I'll regret it if I don't do it though!
I've drunk tea all the way through. Just don't do it to Teflon requirements and you'll be fine. My dentist who has Invisalign in herself advised me.Do you drink hot drinks with them in? I’ve heard the heat can warp the plastic but I desperately miss my morning coffee!
That does seem a lot!! Mine was £4.5k for a complex case that would likely take 2 yearsIs anyone happy to share how much theirs cost? (Invisalign)
My dentist quoted me £5k for up to 12 months which was more than expected
